- Not many people abroad know this hidden gem in the middle of Akihabara. People only know about Gundam Base or Mandarake
But this is arguably the Best Gundam Shop in Japan (maybe in the world?). You will find many amazing stuff that you never think it's existence. If you do gundam shopping in Tokyo Japan, make sure pay a visit here!

When I was casually walking through Akihabara I had also saw this small "Gundam Shop" writing, and took eleveator up to 7th floor...and it was amazing.

My god… all of those metal builds in one place… it took me years to find a 00 qanT after a few years from its release, and it’s just sitting right there on the shelf for sale! Thank you for sharing this amazing place, it’ll be my first stop when I visit Japan 👍

went here and got a few kit. What I like most is that if you look behind the counter you can see the kits that they just got and are going to put out the next day so you can come back and get it before anyone else. There is another great place down the road called Surugaya Akihabara they have more of the rare P-bandai kits that are near impossible to find.
I just happen to know that,thank you. I will try to come in the next day when I see something valuable.
Which Surugaya if I may know? Because there are many Surugaya in Akihabara. Is it the small shop behind radio kaikan,or might be in another place?
Their prices are also off the charts high.
@@caridanbeli Surugaya Akihabara Plastic Hall. There is a floor dedicated to gunpla. You will love that place but the prices are a bit high though.
Hi can you tell me which store has older kits? (HG Seed/HG G Reco) or did they already stopped making those?
@@Navue-cn2tx I have only seen G-Self perfect pack for G Reco. HG seed is being re-produced lately. usually I try to find in Otachuu, Surugaya, and Mandarake (complex and Nakano)
been to this place last week and it is surprisingly good place to look around but sadly most of the gundam I want are already oos, I only manage to get savior gundam (which is very rare to find)
The item moving in that place was fast, I only late like for 5 seconds and somebody else took it in front of my eyes 😂 I'm glad at least you get The savior
Got me now too excited to comeback now to japan not for work but to just go and hunt some kits! those METAL BUILDS! Def worth it!

Between this shop and Surugaya, which one do you think has the wider range of products? I'm planning a trip to Tokyo probably next year in November to hunt for old regular release kits and some premium ones that I missed to snatch at their official Shopee page due to botters and scalpers (curse them all lol) so I'm probably gonna comb through Akihabara for a whole day or two for results.
They both have a wider range of products, But Otachu is more organized. You should come to both places, a day is enough. But the prices can give you a headache sometimes, lol. Scalpers really make many limited and premium Bandai rose high in price

The GP-03 Dendrobium, I remember seeing that in Toys R Us here in the US as a kid, I wanted it so bad because it was the action figure and the mobile armor too, but my mom said too expensive. One day when I go to Japan I am buying it for the little me on the inside.
It's nice when we can fulfill our childhood wishes.

I wouldn't call this place a hidden gem. Pretty much every Gundam shopping video on RUclips covers Otachu since forever and there's a big sign outside when you're walking around the area.
There prices are definitely more expensive than Mandarake and of course you can't beat the major retailers for discount re-release prices. They're decent for when you need a specific rare kit immediately and it's not available at a major retailer, major 2nd hand retailer, or out of rotation at the Gundam Base.
Overall they're not my first choice when it comes to buying model kits cause you're definitely paying a moderate premium.
I agree, most of products seems a bit more expensive for me. But I guess that's the excitement of hunting. Each person's experience can be different. My customers always order a lot of Gundams from there 😁

I was there last week, great store. Unfortunately my suitcases were already full. Even the metal kits are so cheap there.
you should've bought some empty big boxes and sent to your home/airport by post. That way you will also have extra space 😁
huh, visited this namco arcade 13days ago or so. didnt know there was a gundam shop there. didnt notice the sign at the end of the hall. checked the first 4 levels on the place too. still wont help me get that last gundam model: Zeydalus, never made into a model... possibly 1/100 blitz mirage colloid version but i havent even tried to tackle normal 100mg blitz. mostly HG person.
Never see zeydalus, haven't produced yet I thought. MG blitz is amazing but must be really expensive if sold in Otachu 😅

Was just there,not particularly good prices or selection compared to many other stores in the area. Yellow Submarine, Ami Ami, and Mandarake are still better, not to mention the smaller places like Lashimbang, Surugaya, and Liberty. It only stands out because it’s Gundam specific.
Yes, if you want to find some "special" gundam,otachu is one of the best place. But for regular gundam,the other place could be better, espescially for the prices.
Is there any tamiya mini 4wd shop nearby otachu?
Maybe you should try go to yellow submarine at Radio Kaikan Akihabara, or yodobashi camera 🙂

dude, if you can make the journey or happen to go there, go to den-den in Osaka. They have a Tamiya World there. It's awesome. And it has probably the most extensive mini 4wd parts and shop there. It's on one of the floors of Joshin.

@@Citizenmars111 It's the opposite for me, I find Tokyo too busy. Osaka is pretty crowded, but not too bad in some areas.

This place is cool but pricey, and not as epic as Surugaya. More collection for MG's and also tax free there.

The difference with Otachu was they didn't sell Metal build as far as I see
The arrangement is a bit untidy and the aisle is narrow,making hard to shop when crowded
But, in Surugaya
There are often two same items with different prices
Usually those with damaged boxes are sold cheaper

BEst IF you like high prices. This place IS a tourist trap. I've lived here for almost 6 years. there are way better places to find kits in Tokyo.

obviously a computer generated voice, that's why pronounciation and and pretty much everything else is off through the whole video. I guess you can try to be a youtuber now if you don't have a good stage voice. I think this would be better with his original voice, indonesians have an okay accent to begin with.
