Excellent video and thank you very much. You are a credit to Japan and should be very proud of yourself. This video will help me immensely when I visit Tokyo to shop for my hobby requirements, especially for are model kits. Well done!

As a German Model Hobbyist I am very jealous that you have shops like this. I can only dream of shops like that. We usually only have a small corner in Modeltrainshops for our Hobby.

Great list. I agree 100% with your rankings. Yodabashi is always my first stop. Then Yellow Submarine and Volks. I haven't been to Joshin yet, I'll check it out next time I go to Tokyo.
Yes, it would be best if you considered visiting there for a new experience. If somebody goes to Akihabara, the three places are a must-see for model kits. They are positioned near each other and easily accessible.
Wow! I go to Tokyo 4-5 times a year and didn't know about half of the shops on this list. The Joshin shop looks amazing. I heard of the one in Osaka but didn't know there was one in Tokyo. Though not in Tokyo, I'm a big fan of Volks Yokohama. More relaxed environment without the Akiba crowds. Thanks for the video!!
I'd be glad if my video could help you 😁 The famous Joshin is indeed the one in Osaka but the one in Tokyo can also be an alternative, although it is not as big as the one in Osaka I've never been to Volks in Yokohama, so I think I should try it.
Besides Leonardo LG there is also a shop called Leonardo ET, which is in the same area as Leonardo LG (a narrow street between the Akihabara main road and Esaki-Dori). It is just as packed as LG and the shop is just as small, so you can overlook it easily and like LG it only has secondhand and old model kits.
Akihabara is awesome, as is Radio Kaikan and Tam Tam! I wanted to get paints, but could not take them on the plane. Do any hobby stores sell non-flammable paint? Also, could I buy a lot of Tamiya paints and have them shipped by boat back to the USA? Very awesome video!
Thanks for watching! taking her on an airplane certainly can't I think all paints are flammable but you can order it online and they will deliver it safely.
Thank you for your fantastic video. I never really cared about Mandarake because they hardly have any model kits in Osaka. Next time I'm in Tokyo, I'll definitely take a look there. Can I mention another second-hand shop in Akiba? Not far from Leonardo LG is a small shop called Leonardo ET. It's a little difficult to find because it's also on a side street. But I think it's worth taking a look there. Especially since the store is only 2 minutes away from Leonardo LG.Have fun browsing Akiba.
Thank you, I really appreciate it 😃 Even at Mandarake Complex Akihabara, the number of model kits is very small. Only Mandarake Nakano sells a lot of model kits. thanks for the suggestion, I've never been there because I didn't know about it before. on my next trip, I'll definitely visit
En unos meses voy a Tokyo, y dedicaré un día para visitar estas tiendas. Muchas gracias por tu recomendación, sin lugar a dudas esto es lo más cercano al paraíso de los modelistas.
Thank you for the compliment. I hope your trip will be very memorable and you get the model kit you want.😁 Gracias por el cumplido. Espero que su viaje sea muy memorable y que consiga el modelo de kit que desea.
Excellent video - I hope no-one watches it (lol - sorry but I want some stuff left if / when I visit!!!) 😊 I always find the discussion amusing as it's all relative - compared to the UK even the most expensive of the stores featured seems like a charity shop! Keep the videos coming....
Question on tools, have you ever tried buying any Nippers or the like and try to bring it back home? I'm guessing you're from SEAsia from ur channel name, and I'm curious if you've ever tried bringing such "sharp tools" through airport checks Ive been to Tokyo twice and found cheap Godhands but my worry over airport checks have made me opt to not buy them
I have never bought a nipper there. But I guarantee that if we carry it into the cabin, the airport personnel will dispose of it. Some friends have mentioned that nippers can be brought into checked baggage. However, it must be thickly wrapped and safely preserved.
thank you so much. actually, I recorded it myself with a mic. Then I used some filters to make it sound more appropriate because my mic was not good enough. AI Voice surely has a better accent and pronunciation 😂

Try "the model garage " in Shinjuku if you like vintage.
Also most "Hard-off" have a model kit section usually 25% off main Tokyo retail price.
Thank you for the advice

Mandarake Nakano has a shop that sells anime and mecha model kits. It’s a separate store from the one that sells military models.
That's right, Mandarake has several stores in separate locations inside Nakano Broadway. there are probably about 6-7 stores.
