Love the step by step tutorial. Brought back so many memories to the Ann and Andy set I made years ago❤. Love the colors and fabrics you chose. She looks so amazing. I can’t wait to see how Andy turns out ❤️

Thank you kind lady! Rescuing these dolls brings me so much joy and I love getting to share. Andy's clothes are all cut out and ready to make. It's next on my agenda.

I like all your tips in making Ann's clothes. For the elastic casing on the bloomers waistline I sew the front seam together and then sew the back seam together. I turn the upper raw edge down like the directions, stitch all around but leave an opening unstitched to pull the elastic through. Once I have both ends out I stitch them together overlapping the elastic so it lays flat. Then I stitch the opening closed. This eliminates the bulky raw elastic edges that are seen 👍👍 I do have trouble with the dress neckline fitting the doll's neck. I think I am stuffing the head and neck too firm! I always have to add a tab of fabric to the back opening to be able to have closure.

Hi there! Thank you! I definitely prefer a flatter casing and have used your technique as well. I did my best to follow the pattern which can be hard to do when you've been sewing for any length of time, as I'm sure you know! It is possible that there's a little too much stuffing in your doll's neck. I have rescued a couple of dolls that had similar issues and was been able to redistribute the stuffing just a little bit lower down so that the dress or shirt fit nicely.

@@sewhookedjen Thank you for replying and tip about the neck. I'm so glad I found you on RUclips! I will watch your video again, several times, because I find the directions confusing at times. Andy's hat, for instance, trying to get the crown to fit the brim to stitch and also how to turn the crown to the inside to finish it. Now I can watch you to see how to do it correctly! Thank you so very much!

Do you have instructions for the body?

Hi there. I do not currently have instructions on making a doll from scratch. My focus is rescuing dolls that have already been made, but I may have a complete doll tutorial in future. I have found that most people struggle the most with adding hair to the doll and I do have a complete tutorial for that. You can find it on my channel in the Raggedy Rescue playlist. I hope that helps!
