Laird Mackintosh! Another recent Broadway-alum whom has a long history with the show, dating all the way back to the 1990s! He first joined the Toronto production in 1993 in the ensemble, and was shortly cast in the role of Raoul which he played for several years. During that time he also understudied, and played, the Phantom.
Then in 2013 it was announced he'd be taking over the role of Monsieur André in the Broadway production. Although he didn't initially, he was very soon made a Phantom understudy and performed the role for the first time since the 1990s in January 2014! Before he left in 2019 he also got to do several stints as a temporary principle Phantom.
We also have Julia Udine, who first played Christine in the restaged USA tour in 2013-2014, and in later 2014 joined the Broadway production. She was there until 2016, but later returned to the role in the Broadway production in 2021, and is currently there as the Christine alternate.
