This video hits a particular nerve for me. Growing up you could say I stood out in my high-school. I came from a rough family, I was tall, had a different ethnicity and did not always show up to school because of circumstances at home. But I did my a-levels and was one of the best students in my year. Nevertheless, when a man was assaulted in front of the school and I fit the description, my school forwarded my information to the police. I had never fought or gave any indication that I was violent. It made me realize that some people, no matter what you do , will always just see what is at the surface. Nowadays this would be unacceptable. But in the 90's small town middle of nowhere it was just another day that I somehow had to deal with myself.
My partner has bouts of depression... I hear this song and tears come to my eyes, as it gave me strength during one of his darker points... he is the best person I know, and it makes me so sad to think that he is in such pain that he doesn't want to be alive... this song reminds me that I can't fix everything for him, but I can help him just by making sure he knows I love him no matter what. Thanks, Robyn and Christian Falk.
Yep. I heard this song, and knew instantly someone else experienced the same feelings I do. When I'm doing well, when I'm doing poorly, Robyn's music always speaks to me.
