Even if you're a horrible human being, you're still a human being and can change. That's the whole point of "dream on". Dream of becoming a better person and having a better life for yourself. The song is supposed to give hope to people to people who have lost everything due to poor choices. As a daughter of someone who's suffered drug addicted, but has now been clean and healthy for years, I think the song is beautiful the way it is.
One of the few songs and videos that brings a tear to my eyes. Beautiful.
I remember when I listened it for a first time in warehouse in the low time of my life in the lowest energy of Middlesborough.With the people from Poland , some of them were so stiff mentally like metal,One English man said : look at them they never smile.I like this song because it was ,,my’’ song even though I didn’t understand what was it about .I heard this beginning of a song and then I had a vision as if there in my imagination there was a prisoner camp.And in every morning of my life in this camp it was a song for me-prisoner.I was’t a thug :) but this title was for me.Nothing strange that I was in such a dull city I was just numb at that time and so far away from myself,with low energy .Universe works so perfectly:we draw that what we are.I took me a plenty of time to get rid of habbit stealing myself from clear vision.

@acechadwick You made me laugh with vive la difference ;-). I have to admit that I had to google Georgia Jagger. I wondered how her teeth looked like and I was pleasantly suprised! I even read once that a little gap between those teeth is one of the seven beauty marks, so even if you do compare it with 'normal' beauties, she would fit in. But for me many different things are daring and dazzling (no idea where these alliterations came from ;-)). Embrace the flaw sounds lovely :).
@acechadwick Allright, it is not THAT little. But for some reason I just expected her teeth to be more yellow and crooked if people call her ugly for that! I think that people have character if they are unique and dare to be theirselves, despite other's opinions. But of course it starts with confidence about yourself. I just wrote something similar about Georgia Jagger because everyone was calling her ugly because of her teeth...but here's the thing..everyone knows who she is now because of her distinctive look. Who remembers all the other models that come and go but most people can now look at a photo and go "That's Georgia May Jagger"

Interesting sub-plot about the 'thug' saving the guy crossing the street - wouldn't be surprised if the director 'borrowed' this idea from a UK advert for the Guardian newspaper back in the 1980s ;-). Which is a cool ad, btw.

Those big blue eyes are hypnotic! The video is a perfect fit for this song. I.E. Things aren't as bad as they could be so keep hope..."dream on." The girl crying on the bed...just got proposed to. The scary looking junkie...saved a guy about to be hit by a cab and the angry brotha in the hoodie is a cop...he's on OUR side. Uplifting and beautiful. Ms Robyn Miriam Carlsson is officially my favorite musician. I forget is she the blackest white woman on earth, or the whitest black woman on earth?

Wow Marc. I can live with you not liking it, different people like different things, but in MY opinion you are wrong. This song sends a message about the state of the world today, and what peoples ideas are about nightlife in certain cities. This song turns nice at the end when you realise all those people are actually doing GOOD things, saying that the world isnt TOTALLY lost to evil.

She has the most amazing voice, she could sing th e national anthem and bring a tear to your eye. And when she dances she looks like shes actualy having fun not performing. The "Call your Girlfriend" Live on SNL is prolly my favorite video to watch. Last thing shes one of the few women who can pull off white hair so well, i tried it didnt look good.
