Matt, really enjoy your channel! The way you walk through your thoughts on what you're working on is truly inspiring. Looking forward to trying some of these painting techniques on a new Traxxas Hoss body I'm planning to paint. Hoping to get a Crawler soon as I find myself more interested in them rather than just bashing the Hoss all day. I'm sure there's a joke in that last sentence - a la Chris Hardwick and some inappropriate humor.

That Mustang looks sharp. I painted a TRX4 Sport body with a black to white fade. It didn't come as I wanted but not bad. After watching this I can see my miss steps. The white came out looking like white/gray granite counter top. But yes, its motivated me to paint other bodies. As always Matt thank you for the effort putting this together. It motivates me any way.

I use to hand cut as well then I started using a cricket myself to save time. I also use a air brush with water base paint and seal it with lacquer. Great episode.
Love that paint Job. I am totally doing that splatter technique.... on the next body. Because of your videos, I tried just a little harder with my Phoenix paint job.
    Literally just a little.
    Hahaha.
    One step per body haha.
I beleive there was a high quality Sorny, and the beautifuly made Garnivale.
They sure don't make any better then those.
Nit going to lie I had to find the episode to remember the names.
I remembered Sorny. But... knew there was better.

The garage door came out awesome.
That rv is going to be so dang cool.
    The motor is awesome.
I have been wanting to out one in something.
Almost did for the Capra, have it like mid engine style.
But.... that didn't stay around long enough haha.
    All super cool.
I want to see that 4 door dually yellow yota.

How you do stuff may (probably) be more efficient and easier than the way i do. mostly because i don't have someone in the area to take a case of water. would like to see fusion 360 work. The new guy with the stach on Josh's page did that brazen video was neat. Also, this winter I painted a C10 body for my slash with Traxxas brilliant blue. Also with the losi and Ford logo... Is it on the outside.. but if it was on inside.
You ALREADY DID THE CHROME PAINT color... I just don't understand.
Also with the svt... You said... Clean.. then paint the one part black... But somehow it's yellow lettering for the svt.
I get it if it's on the outside.. but how can u make the yellow show through the black if it's on the inside.
SINCE...you specifically stated... That you did the nice black coat. To the front area... And then I think 4 coats of the silver chrome, for the back half... And u show when you were doing that part. Those parts of the painting I mean.
Sorry. I'm guessing your audience normally gets this process, and understands it... But I must be missing a few crucial pieces of info.
Either way... Man I love the car... This would be sooo perfect of a first rc.. my whole family has mustangs. Most builds them their self.
And I have some long flat roads around me. Lol
    Good stuff sir Matt

Tthe logos were masks that I cut on the Cricut. That's why they appeared green. They were decals applied to the inside that I used to mask those areas off. I covered that in the video. I painted the main body colors, then removed the masks one at a time and painted each their respective color.

What's the best way to remove the masks without mucking up the paint or the body?

I use a sharp blad to peel up a little and then use some tweezers. Hope that helps!

@@scalebuildersguild I score and snap also but you get a slight waver and that can be removed with the dremel. You see it I know and it will be eating at you till you fix it. BTW I'm doing the classic mustang with the white with blue strips. The hand made decal guy, does he use shadow technique?
