Once you find a good recipe, just make sure you combine the pine tar with a hand mixer instead of a stick blender like we did. It makes life a lot easier.
4:06 You don't always get what you planned for when making soap. this will be my quote for today lol. I found out this ingredient a while ago, so I was so curious! Thanks for sharing!
sooo very cool! I am currently researching how much pine tar to add to my signature recipe or if I should create a recipe just for this soap. This was beyond pleasing to watch!
@@billweirdo9657pine tar is an acid and therefore neutralizes lye, that’s why it has to be entered into a soap calculator. It doesn’t saponify so not an “oil”.
@LisaG442 I didn't say it was an oil. I said it counts towards oil. The more pine tar you use the less oils you can use by % or the soap won't turn out.
That's awesome! Great job at getting it done before it thickened. What temp do you soap at? Where does one find pine tar? I've been dying to make this soap.
Was going to check out your store, but it wanted to force me to allow notification, and I just don't 'do' notifications from sites. When I didn't allow the notifications, it would not let me enter the site!! This is the only site I have ever been excluded from for not allowing notifications. You maybe lost a sale.
Urrh? Really? Okay! And why do you take the Pine Tar weight from the oils? It isn’t an oil. And SoapCalc knows it’s not an oil when you put it in the calculation, but works with it. You have reduced your recipe in oil volume, though the soap batch size is there with the tar additive, so long as you know. Well, so long as your Lye & Water weight matches the actual oils that you do use. Thanks for sharing, And you’re right, I do this practice too.... when a Soaper doesn’t disclose their personal recipe (completely understandable by the way), it’s a good idea to use one of my own favourite template oil formulas, and add the 10-20% PIne Tar (optional strengths), and essential oil. Since it is a simple yet tricky creation, and very doable when mindfully hand blending. Cheer!
I add the pine tar to the oil before adding the lye... and mix with the hand whisk... sets up fast yes... but mamageable to work with 😊
Great job! When I made this I added the pine tar and oils first and then the lye.
Thanks for watching! How did it work for you to add the pine tar to the oils before the lye? Did it set up fast?
😃 yay. Was just trying to find a recipe for this today. Tyvm

@@CrazyLoveBathandBody TYVM for commenting . I’ve ordered the pine tar!

Thank you so much!

It’s so true right?!
I am so glad everything behaved well, highly recommend whisking the pine tar in and not over blending at the start. 😀
I can't wait to buy a couple! :)
:) thank you for watching! They will be available soon! January is flying by.
Great soap! Where do you find such a large silicone mold?
Hi, just found you, I always enjoy finding new fellow soaper. Very nicely done, one of my favorites as well
Awesome! Thank you! We are excited to see how these turn out. We think they will be a new favorite.
Do you heat your pine tar before adding it to the oils?

The pine tar has a strong scent to it, which is why we used Tea Tree EO. I am not sure the scent would blend well with lighter fragrances.
8- 12% no more then 20%. Pine tar counts towards " oil"

Looks great !how long do you let it sit before cutting your pine tar soap ?
What temperature was the pine tar when u poured it?
Awesome, I hear this is supposed to be great for skin 😊
That is what we heard too 😉
Thanks for watching!
Looks great!! Love the mold and dowels. Where’d you get the set from?
These were made for us by a good friend/woodworker. Thanks for watching!
Hi , what was the ratio of all your ingredients?
2:10 what % pine tar?
5:00 brilliant!!😅
Hi! May I ask the full recipe of this pine tar soap? Because I didn't see the measurements of the ingredients. Thanks!
Hi, did you heat the the pine tar at all?
No, we used it at room temperature. Thanks for watching!
How much % of each EO blend? I mean how much % for tea tree & pine tar? Thank u

We generally soap as low as possible. Usually our oils and lye are below 80 degrees when we combine them.
@@CrazyLoveBathandBody That's awesome. Thank you
OMG how big were those bars?!
They are pretty big. And that's why we call them our MAN SOAPS. Thanks for watching!
Can I buy some of that from you?
You can buy all of our products on our website which is linked in the description. Thanks for watching!
Do you make much money making your soaps?

Do you have a recipe to share?
I do not share my recipes at this time. But I put 8% pine tar and I take that percentage from my oils. I hope that makes sense :)
Thanks for watching!
Hmm the tar is not an oil? It’s an additive?

I want to see one soap maker, just one, say “heavy trace”.
The actual measurements would be useful… will you please explain this better? Thanks!
Unfortunately, we don't share our specific recipes, but I can tell you our pine tar is 10% of the total weight of oils.
She said 8% to another person
damn 8 inches is huge for a bar of soap
