Nice clean shaft, it's rather bright even if the lights where off. My local IKEA carpark has 3 big orona lifts, and they are quite fast. They have DMG fixtures and I'm quite impressed by the quality of the buttons. Quite up there with OTIS gen2 buttons and perhaps a bit better even then those flimsy KONE kss buttons on ecodiscs. Orona is reletively new in the netherlands, they've taken over the generic company "all-in liften" who built run of the mill genetics that where totally bog standard. Since they have been taken over they build Orona lifts. So that's a happy story, one generic company less and one good one in it's place.
+dykodesigns2yt New buildings often seem to have bright lift shafts that make everything clear to see, although there isn't always a light switch to be seen (I think that this might be to stop people going on top the lift). Orona took over Liftwise in England, and they started installing Oronas. I think I have been in a couple of all in liften lifts, I recognise the name.
There's a really nice orona at the Holburne Museum in Bath - it's a glass lift and it had such a beautiful view. Waterstones in Bath also has a really nice 90s lift (Express iirc).
This Orona elevator uses doors manufactured by Fermator. I recognises it by the red door motor. Another spanish Company that is shit in my opinion. Fermator makes Schindler doors tough. The inspection speed is very fast. In an upcoming EN standard, the inspection speed is not alowed to run more than 0.3m/s.
It's funny, I've seen quite a few Oronas branded as "Liftwise" and "Ace", but unless Orona contract out their installs, they must have been fitted by Orona, and then company maintaining the lift then immediately replaced the label.
+Mattyeah101 Orona supply parts to generic lift companies. Some of the lifts at my local university have been modernised by a generic company but have Orona parts (such as the floor indicators and buttons- don't know what is in the motor room).
+Mattyeah101 I think that Liftwise are owned by Orona. I don't know what is going on with Ace. I emailed them and asked them about Orona installations, and they said that they don't install Oronas. Very strange.
+benobve They may be using Orona parts but not installing Orona lifts (in the same was as companies not installing Dewhurst lifts). According to Companies House Liftwise Limited was dissolved in December 2013 after undergoing voluntary liquidation. Their website is dead. They were owned by Orona (via Quality Lift Products Limited) who, I assume, will have moved most of their customers over to their own operations. ACE Lifts Limited look like they are still independent. As of Feb 2015 they were 100% owned by Charles and Vivian Salter (Charles started the company and lives at the same address as Vivian).
+DarkOverlord I recon that the shaft lights were installed by the building contractors before the lift was installed. Which is why there are 2 light switches (pit and top level) in 2 way configuration. Sometimes when the lift company installs the lights they sometimes put the switch on top the lift, or sometimes put the switch inside the logic cabinet. One Schindler MRL I filmed had the shaft lights as part of the lifts logic.
Kleemann isn't actually a lift. It is a lift kit of parts that Kleeman resells. I think I have done a couple of videos of surfing them, but they are so boring.
+Knuckles the Echidna I just found a video of a Schindler Smart MRL shaft. It has a worm drive gear on the motor just like Orona has. No wonder they sound similar. The new design of Orona is regular 2:1 MRL and doesn't make this sound. Schindler Smart shaft.... ruclips.net/video/pnj3yaYAsn4/видео.html I don't know of any other lifts that are worm drive. Schindler Direct drive and Kone Powerdisc have a similar epic motor sound. These types of lift are counterweightless lifts and they are both very rare only being installed for a short amount of time. They both have a very weird and complex cabling system. The Schindler direct drive has the motor under the lift car and the Kone Powerdisc has a very weird looking ecodisc at the top of the shaft. I have never been in a Kone Powerdisc.
+Beno Awesome! The motor looks similar! I hope the Oronas and Schindler Smart MRLs don't get modernized or there will be no sweet sounding worm drives left :(
@@SproutyPottedPlant These Oronas are not common but I don’t think they will be modded very soon, these are still new. I remember when I used to live in a modern block of flats with an orona lift. Very unusual to put an orona in a block of flats 8 floors tall! I love the sound of it
***** you mean the alarm bell. Well they tend to work even on generics as the alarm button is wired directly up to it. Also your friends could have used the emergency phone in the lift
I meant to put down is thyssenkrupp MRL lifts are not much better than there generic mods, also the 90’s thyssenkrupp or thyssen is also really good as well as the high speed ones.
+MyNameIsWillVlogs It goes 1 m/s between G - 2. It goes 0.67 m/s between G - 1 and 1 - 2. Manual control goes at 0.67 m/s. The only other lift I have surfed that goes this fast in manual is a the 1900s Medway lift.
I have to disagree about the design of the OTIS Gen 2. Ok, so they don't have a proper chassis, but they are still really nice lifts.

what about surfing a boring old stannah or ALS??
None, because an old stannah and als are not a generic
There used to be one of these at the homesense in fort shopping center sad to see it go
Orona lifts seems to be the best type of cheap modern lift

+LiftFan That's probably Stannah replaced the brand.
Finally, an Orona. One of the best lifts out there in my opinion. I thought they didn't have shift lights though?

When you heard worm drive did anyone think worms drove it as it’s worm drive? Just wondering XD
The noise is kind of like the Alimak Hek climbing lifts
+MyNameIsWillVlogs It has a geared motor (which adds to the sound). The motor is facing downwards and is geared so the the motor wheel on the side.
When I was younger I thought Oronas looked like an ecodisc

It is the complete opposite. All of ThyssenKrupps MRLs are appealingly bad,. There only good lifts are their top of the range ones.
