Instant rematch is an absolute relief. Goes to show the sheer incompetence behind the loading times of Tekken 7 though. You can finish a second game of Tekken 8 by the time Tekken 7 has loaded up, ludicrous. But this is what I needed to see from Tekken 8, quality of life changes and a better gameplay experience.
Not sure how much of it is better coding, and how much should be credited to the sheer power of the PS5. Either way, glad to see it fixed. Been hating on load times since T6, and after being spoiled by SF6s loading speed, I can't go back to that T7 Loading speed anymore

Tekken nerd here: 1. Devil Kazuya finally has black electricity mixed in like Dvj. 2. His ground laser tracks AGAIN(but not as good as they did in Tag2) 3.His air lasers recovery is on par with Ancient ogres FLY stance..ie its really hard to punish now.
The difference is, other than that broken 3+4,1,2,2 string Kazuya still needs heavy execution to do like 80 damage with heat. Asuka without heat manages 80 and with it can go upwards to 120+ easily, sure it needs some execution but tell me how your fingers feel after playing Kazuya for a bit 😭💀
Asuka execution is far less taxing than Kaz as a result you get more damage for better executions as Kaz. Asuka isn't as taxing as him but her basic combos do like 80 which for her character makes no sense.
I was originally gonna be maining Bryan for the CNT but I kept gravitating towards Kaz even though he's one of my secondary characters. The one complaint I have with Kaz specifically (aside from the obvious DF3+4 string) is that his DF+1 DF+2 bound string seems a bit inconsistent off axis. I wish we had a B+2 extension like a new B+2,1

The character designs in Tekken 8 are so uninspired.. Every male is a Mass monster yyet ripped to bone, even law, who needs to be lean. On the other hand, All Females are instagram models. Too much color effects going on. And the rage art is a lot of times Just a white screen ! MK1 looking much better NGL
Not true, it's horrible.. T8 soundtrack is absolutely abysmal and is the worst in the franchise.. You can say you like but most of the ppl will tell you otherwise

I don't like T7 soundtrack but disagree that its soundtrack is worse than that of T8.. the beach stage and Fahkumram's theme alone I find cooler than anything I've heard in T8.. I personally feel that some of Kazuyas moves (only in heat) should do more damage for the heat cost. Like, if you look closely his "old" moves like his enhanced hellsweep spends a quater of his heat but is STILL unsafe, which is fair. The trade off should either be higher damage for that much cost OR less heat consumption with the damage unchanged to migate the fact that hes unsafe AND spending all that heat for "okish" damage.

The Round transitions feel like the older classic Tekken ones. So far I am loving the presentation. Gameplay, it feels like it's better than T7. Music, it's mixed, some are great, some are meh.

Kazuya has almost lost his identity in this game. He is so easy to play now, i destroyed players online and i almost never played him in T7. He is so free for now
Him and Jin are so easy now especially because movement is less emphasized so they got more strings and bully moves and Jin losing zen cancel takes a lot of his learning curve.

I wish they added easier characters with less reward and kept the hard to play existing one untouched. If players could learn all of a character stuff in less than 1 year i don't see the point in keep playing to get better and improve ones arsenal. Definitely! You can bound at the wall like in Tekken 6 and Tag 2. Also explosive combo damage like in Tekken 5. Game is just overall super duper fun!
