Do you mean a brush for application of paste or a brush for smoothing the paper? A brush for smoothing doesn’t have much ability to properly distribute your intended pressure for smoothing paper. Most all papers, except foil or very delicate paper type papers will need a smoother versus a brush for manipulating adhesive. It’s a matter of the smoothing brush not allowing for enough pressure except where foil and light paper could be creased or compressed and ruin the appearance.
