- This is not the first time I upload a video about these spectacular racing toys, called Kart Cross, which are single-seaters buggies, weighing around 330kgs, RWD and powered by motorbike engines, generally 600cc ones, with power output in the 150hp order and a max speed of 200 km/h. Thanks to their characteristics they are able to be raced and driven on all surfaces (tarmac, snow/ice and gravel). Almost all the buggies you see in this video are built by GMN Motorsport with the exception of the white and yellow capsule-ish one you see at the beginning of the video which is a Xtrem model made by Speedcar.
This video is from the 2020 Challenge Valpolcevera, a Formula Challenge race organized by Scuderia Valpolcevera and held at Castelletto Circuit. Formula Challenge is an Italian series taking place on permanent circuits or on arranged ones (dirt, tarmac or mixed). Races are chase races and against the clock in which the cars start at preset intervals. The type of the circuit must be such as to provide an average speed not over 80 km/h. The final classification is drawn up to the sum of the times resulting in the two best heats of the race (out of 3) discarding the worst.

That’s gotta be close to as much fun as you can have with 4 wheels.

Always nice to see and hear these cross cars, especially the sound of the ones with a 600cc (max 650cc) engine. New regulations in XC Cross Car allow the usage of a 850 cc engine as well. The sound is deeper, and I personally prefer the sound of the 600 cc engines. The torque of the 850 cc version is higher in lower rpm and can definitely be an advantage in a race. However, I hope that the majority of the karts will keep these 600 cc engines.
Loudest (and fastest!) mosquitos ever 👍😁!
I want to try this one time in my life
P1 at the begining has the anti roll bar set to yes.
This is the best no crazies' trying to drive over you to get to the front each racer racing the clock . Awesome .
FACT: Lawmakers CANNOT give a valid reason as to why these can't be street legal but a Yamaha R2 can be
Thanks for the upload, Merry Christmas
Looks like great fun!
