- Enjoy this video about some Kart Cross Buggies (single-seaters, 300kgs cars powered by motorbike engines) racing on track at Castelletto Circuit during the 2018 Challenge del Lupo!
Formula Challenge is an Italian series taking place on permanent circuits or on arranged ones (dirt, tarmac or mixed). Races are chase races in which the cars start at preset intervals. The type of the circuit must be such as to provide an average speed not over 80 km/h. The final classification is drawn up to the sum of the times resulting in the two best heats of the race (out of 3) discarding the worst.

Hi Bozzy. I had never heard of Kart Cross until now, but what an amazing racing series. Those things must be a absolute riot to drive.👊 Even on that tight course, those guys are probably challenging that 80kph average. Looking into this a bit further, it seems the US is just finally discovering these machines that the people in Europe have been racing since the 80s. It looks like a relatively inexpensive motorsport to get into, and so much fun. Personally, I don't want to race (too old and out of shape - poor power to weight ratio😜), but I'd love to have one of these to play with on the weekend. Thanks again to you and your mates for sharing a different side of motorsports, Bozzy.🙏 Great video sir and I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas! 2018 has been an awesome year for entertainment on this channel and I am excited to see what you have in store for us in 2019!🙌 Cheers!
Let's start by saying that in a my imaginary ranking these are in second place among mine "vehicles I'm yearning to try the most" (in first place there's a shifter kart...). In the last years I've been lucky (or maybe unlucky hahah) to have admired them in all conditions (wet/dry tarmac, snow & dirt) so my love for Kart Cross has grown to excessive levels! I'm really happy to see the comments section is full of great and positive reviews about these little beasts :) Thank you so much for another very kind comment my big friend! Those are neat. The guy in the "Petronas" looking kart was going around corners like his kart was 50 lbs lighter.
Man this looks like a blast. Those little buggers really haul ass. Imagine a 1000cc engine in there !
They have been around for ten years or more in europe where they race up paved highways over mountains with open class versions using suzuki hayabusa engines making 250 horsepower ..there are companies that produce lower end cases to support two hayabusa top ends creating a V8 ....
Add two turbos and have over 500 horsepower V8 busa killer crosskart that are faster than an F1 up those narrow paved mountain sight seeing park roads
I don't know but it sounds like a cross between a Mazda 787B and a V8 GP2 car. I would love to have one of these pocket rockets!

I love these cross karts or sprintcars. In Belgium they participate in the rallycross championship. I have had the opportunity to follow one of these teams during the 2018 championship and film their road to the title. 👍
@@CarlosGarcia-ze6rt The team I followed also competed in a hillclimb. The sprintcars that participated were very fast. They were only beaten by a Dallara F3. 🙂

What type of motorcycle engines are crosskarts powered by? V4s, V twins, parallel twins, inline 4s?
Inline 4, for example CB600R engine.

I'd like to take one of these and put a large wing right over the driver. I'll bet the speeds would be even more fantastic than they already are with these extrodinarily fun looking vehicles.
There is another Style of vehicle similar to this one but with closed cockpit and more Aero, they are called speedcars (at least in Spain) they are very fun to watch in hilliclimb

No one manufacturers crosskarts ...the owners build them from scratch one off one at a time.. apparently they are getting pretty darn good at it today including forming and shaping their own fiberglass body work
