Story reading of “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury (part 1), with creative movement and dance for children's wellbeing and body-mind development.
Children aged 4-7 can watch and listen to each page being read, and creatively move and dance the ideas contained on each page. Parents, teachers and other adults, please watch the film along with your children so that you can pause the film at intervals to encourage children to dance.
During this activity, children follow verbal and visual cues to help them explore different ways of imaginatively moving, and suggestions are also provided for when two or more children are moving at the same time. Please collect ideas from this film to develop your own ways of engaging children in this kind of activity.
