Your report about Stellantis being unable to sell its plant in China despite pricing it 75% below what it cost to build is an eye opener. That proves that Legacy Auto’s plants are worthless and their debt will never be repaid…

Chinese automakers have about 16-18 million vehicles in excess production capacity. Japanese, European, and American automakers have been closing factories in China due to extreme price wars, shrinking demand, and struggling economy.
Multiple large car dealerships in China have already gone bankrupt and closed shop. While Stellantis may not be a big player in China, VW has always had significant market presence. They were the largest foreign automaker in China in terms of market share. Slowdown of sales and closure of factories will trickle down to multiple suppliers, eliminating many jobs in China. It's a blood bath. And the debt on B/S is mostly for funding auto-loans.

Regarding European car sales - car ownership is now extremely expensive especially for younger people who face eye-watering cost for insurance and driving lessons often running into several thousand £. Consequently a lot of younger and older people are giving up on car ownership and using public transport instead. If you are a European city dweller then car ownership is now undesirable.

We know VW has basically reset their EV programs. ICE sales are falling, but EV is still not a big part of their company bottom line. The "We have two years" statement for making major changes from the current VW CEO feels two years too late.
Autoline gave the VW EV reset good coverage when it happened, so I can understand not making the delays and production stoppage for ID production a lead story.

The Chinese companies are fine with trying new things and copying what works. Their business culture seems to be more agile than many Western legacy builders. The Cybertruck is such a new type of vehicle, it is impressive what they accomplished and I suspect that like the Model 3, Cybertruck will rapidly improve. The stainless steel body has never been successfully mass produced and they have done it. Higher numbers than DMC12 and it is a vehicle many critics said could never be made or made in numbers larger than a thousand a year.
I get peoplevhatr Musk, but Tesla is upgrading and improving vehicles at a very high pace. People want refuse to believe a Model 3 is not as good as a Camry, but more and more data is showing Model 3 is holding up very well. "Unprecedented slowdown" is sales were less than exponentially rising, when some thought EV sales would be 100% by now. The substitution of "electrified" hybrids for EVs (which dealers hate) is another factor, which comes at the expense of ICE sales mostly. Germany's cutoff of incentives fueled a large increase before, followed by a large decrease in EV sales.

No one will buy the Cybertruck... It turns out ~5100 registered vs 5400 for all other EV trucks combined. Cumulatively, it barely beat out CT.... wait until CT far surpass the others. But yup, Teala is Fk. In a good way ;)

I am not a Tesla fanboy, but I was a VC consultant to an engine company group in the vehicle power generation industry before retiring. It is interesting that their stock is up nearly 9% month to date. One new part of their business, whose profit has grown 140% year to date, is their power storage. Their stock will keep rising in the next two months when they open another 40GWh manufacturing MEGAPAK facility. They also appear to be in good shape with the new Juniper project, which increases the range of the 2025 model Y by an estimated 24%.

@@BrunoHeggli-zp3nl@BrunoHeggli-zp3nl I guess we will have to wait and see. It is surprising that they need to sell 1000 cars to equal the profit of one MEGAPAK. I followed the diesel, H2, electrical battery, power generation, and electric power train business for heavy vehicles and building emergency power. I no longer have access to the tools I once had.

Tesla pushing the Robotaxi over the affordable model is because the Chinese are nipping at their heels. They are hoping the Robotaxi/FSD will keep them ahead of the pack.

Tesla is coming off a Stellar year and due for Juniper Refresh on the Model Y. Tesla will be, pardon the pun, Sparking things up on the Warner Brothers Studio lot on. 10/10/2024, with the unveiling of the Robotaxi and the $25,000 Model 2. I’m sure Tesla will have free rides through the expansive lot for all guests! I suspect, Tesla will be leaving these Robotaxi behind and WB will continue to use those Robotaxis for their set tours, and personnel transportation needs within the set lot! This will allow Tesla to get some experience and log some miles on these first edition Robotaxis!

No one is going to buy the stock based on you pumping it in a youtube comment. That robotaxi will do nothing since FSD still can't even do level 4 and it's not a legal vehicle in any market anyway. It's going to be a paper machet car in a pre-prepared lot using a fixed route and it's not going on sale this decade. It's just another optimus/mars lie to keep the stock pumped.

The Robotaxi will be an immediate spike to the stock and then wait for the first "incident". Media will eat him alive when that happens.
