Mike Bouvier grew up in the northern community of Ile A La Crosse Saskatchewan. Despite being involved in sports and making efforts to avoid the disfunction and
violence in his community, the hockey drinking culture got to him. Then he found marijuana, cocaine, and finally crack.
Mike lost everything as a result of his Crack addiction and alcoholism, finally he found himself trying to end it all.
After a failed attempt, Mike started to see the hurt in his family’s eyes and realized the pain he was causing, that’s when he ended up at MACSI Treatment center in Saskatoon, SK.
In this episode Mike talked to me about growing up in Northern Saskatchewan, how his alcoholism and Crack addiction got started, and how his native spirituality helped him find peace in his life.
