Absolutely, but mics are not only used for amplifying sound. Being a former performer myself, I’m very accustomed to being in a studio and having every nuance of a song tweaked to sound like perfection. She’s also not using an electronic guitar, back-up singers, and fancy stage props to distract us. I get the echo chamber that the hollowness of the subway creates-trust me, I live in New York City. All I’m saying, in essence, is that we’re getting a taste of the most purest form of entertainment...for free.

I've seen this girl hustling on that stop for 10years and her voice really sounds like that. The video doesn't show how powerful her voice is.. You can hear her as the train pulls up and from 3 other stops away and from outside the tunnels..which is Impressive in itself..
Chills!! I broke down crying like a baby hearing this! This song is the reflection and reminder of the hell I have experienced in my life including watching my father die in front of me slowly from cancer, watching my grandma die slowly in front of me and now seeing my mom memory fade. Among me almost losing my life and being alone after my ex cheated on me when my father was dying and marrying another man after all my love loyalty and supreme dedication. I'm still here. I'm still grateful and not giving up.

@WerdaMalik Look at her video where she talks about this. He claims all the money, and told her she had to buy the video from him when she asked if she could have a copy.
1:50 is the moment that gives me chills. A crowded subway full of busy people all filled with the stress of their own problems stops in unison and listens to him preform
The scenario in which she is performing “Landslide” and the amount of emotion in her voice...it’s an incredible moment to capture. The video itself is art.
It's actually pretty simple; the music industry has perfected their systems so well like a well oiled machine that they know exactly what they're looking for. They're looking for repeated success to get a return on their investment. People like her have to work 100X harder to become successful in the industry by creating a following already and be able to show a good record of already producing assets (songs, albums, etc) Only then do labels invest since there's proof of success. Also Rock is like 5-10% of the industries source of income at the moment so that makes it even harder.
You aren’t forced to listen to shit. If there was so much of a demand for these artists they’d be mainstream but instead they’re going broke because people like you just feed on what you’re being fed. There’s plenty of talented artists like the one shown in this video, just look a little.
This resonates in my soul just like the raw and powerful effect of a burning sun I love Fleetwood Mac I grew up on bands of the 70s 80s and 90s this kind of talent only comes around so I wish her all the best she needs to be heard
This rendition, in that setting, under those conditions - was simply other-worldly. It was the absolute best, most heart-wrenching version of this song I have ever heard in my life. And, sadly, it will never be repeated (same echo, same emotion, same pre-fame circumstances). What these lucky people have witnessed in person, was better than just about any live performance I've ever seen in a stadium. They have no idea what they were witness to, and that only adds to the sadness and authenticity of Ashley Stevenson's incredible raw talent. I am positive that - like me - so many of the over 26M views of this are repeat performances. We're all coming back for the incredible emotional pull it gives us, with every view. You can tell, this isn't *just* another song for her, she's laying her soul out there for all to see; and, for me, it's one of the most powerful performances I've ever seen. Thank you Ashley, peace, and please stay safe.
What are you talking about? Obviously a dude. Not a chick. And can't sing if his life depended on it. People are so easily led in nefarious directions.
Keith Harden maybe you have to already love landslide by fleet wood; I noticed it was all chicks giving money and it’s a song loved by women?! I absolutely love this song and it is what made me want to play guitar when I was a teen. This rendition is sublime
I liked how she made it her own. There was something more emotional about the performance, like she was expressing a different emotion than Stevie nicks when she sang it. And her guitar skills added alot to it as well. Shes a talented musician.
That's because she is. Have you seen how few views and followers she has? The person who recorded this video has more followers on youtube than she does. I hope that you followed her because she has given years of her life away to perform this at this level for you.
I feel it in my soul, that is some of the greatest re-invetions of a song I have ever heard. Most people wouldn't realize they are standing in the presence of greatness. That is raw talent, that is what the industry is afraid of. You can't teach that shit
the reverb makes it feel more meaningful somehow, as the performers voice echoes through the tunnels, it feels more lost in some way, but the reverberations keep it alive for so much longer
I've heard landslide live many many times (I dressed the original artist for 20 years on and off stage). This is absolutely as beautiful and powerful a version as any I ever heard in all my years on the road. Stunning. I wish this woman the very very best. May she be rewarded for offering her incredible gift so bravely.
you didnt dress ur self bud. no point mentioning that you dressed someone thinking it gives relevance. " I sold offspring a taco once so Im a audio expert" ... shave ur nuts, ur hairy
Did the performer, Ashley Stevenson, get a share of the revenue from this video? The link in the description to www.slimfreedom.com wants to install a web browser plugin.
I've seen this before but this time I noticed how most of the people had turned their faces towards the performer. When music is true this is what happens.
Yes ! I used to see this girl everyday going to work and she had the most beautiful voice and it caught me off guard! She’s so sweet! I hope she definitely gets hers! ❤️
Someone a lucky guy. What does this have to do with her talent and maybe she will make someone a lucky girl... Its about the fact she needs to be famous period and this si the kind of music to be heard on radio. Period.
Foggy Brain's you're funny kid. What does that have to do with her talent you ask? Well you want an ordinary chick or you want a Bad ass who can sing like that? Hahahahaha.
Well, since you asked... I like the song, and I can play it myself. It is a delicate song, and I just don't think this variation on it really fits the mood of the song. Innovation can be great, but not always. Maybe she should try playing a Led Zeppelin or a Who song in this frenetic acoustic style, it might work. Not for Landslide, though. Not for me. JMO.
Been 8 years and i still come back every few months . Depends what mood im in or if ive had a hard time. Raw . Real talent . My country was once filled with artists like this who have migrated or are hidden in local pubs not getting sales . Salute to everyone struggling and just trying to survive
@@kudojay1840 I used to see her quite often at the Washington El in Chicago. She’d practice certain licks over and over and over. She’’s actually quite nice and her voice is honestly too loud and powerful for that station.
Be happy she shared it with us...it might not be the brightest and most glamorous setting but holy shit did she make it work. Goes to show it's not the situation that defines the person. It's how they deal with it.
This may be some of the best strum patterns I've ever heard. A few interesting chord selections as well. I'm honestly mad this woman isn't a profound rockstar yet.
I love her voice but I'm actually thinking the opposite, there's no dynamic at all to her playing, and the strumming is many times out of rythm. But yeah, that's not the mainfocus here, her singing is absolutely stunning.

Absolutely no other cover comes close! I've been listening to it for the same time
Rachel Adu-Gyamfi same
i would like to hear her cover some tracy chapman songs..........
I thought this too. Talking about a revolution would be a good one.
First thing that came to mind!!
For real!!!!!
I was thinking that she reminds me of Tracy Chapman .
That was my very first thought once I heard that voice.... I love me some Stevie and some Tracy so this mash up blew me up. ❤️😭❤️😭
This blows my mind and gives me cold chills every time I come back to it. Thank you Ashley!!!
I have listened to this more than 100 times. It makes my soul feel complete and happy. What an awesome and amazing singer. She is a blessing
I think I'm the other 33 million...
I have come back to this for years. The man who posted this doesn’t deserve any of this shit. If he has made any money it should go to her
I've seen this girl hustling on that stop for 10years and her voice really sounds like that. The video doesn't show how powerful her voice is.. You can hear her as the train pulls up and from 3 other stops away and from outside the tunnels..which is Impressive in itself..
Reminds me of Tracy Chapman
She still be at the stop performing???
@@stressfreetv2263 I haven't been in a few years.
@@jej495 we may have missed her :(
@@maximyles she has a RUclips channel
her voice echoing through the tunnels, touched my spirit and made me tear up without control
Exact same thing!
Someone please give Ashley a real chance, she is crazy talented

God bless the person filming this that allowed us to witness this magic from wherever we are in the world and captured pure art.
@WerdaMalik
Look at her video where she talks about this. He claims all the money, and told her she had to buy the video from him when she asked if she could have a copy.

When Grapes Pop really, she had to buy the video off him!?? Wtf man, that shit is unreal!. What a nasty man if that is the case

1:50 is the moment that gives me chills.
A crowded subway full of busy people all filled with the stress of their own problems stops in unison and listens to him preform
You can hear the genuine anguish. You only get that by living life.
The BLUES can teach you that.
Agreed!
or just being born with that voice probably
gj sherlock, sure cant do that when ur dead
STFU with this pseudo intellectual drivel.
Easily one of the most unique and beautiful covers I've ever heard. Just wow
You're so right
I absolutely love that everyone is silent listening to this. let the artist have the platform without any interruptions
Jeff Boyd except for the ignorant bitch with the headphones in at the end!!
You're an ignorant bitch for thinking someone is ignorant bitch for walking down a walkway to go where she was intending to go....
ChrisChillzz and you are an ignorant bitch for calling me an ignorant for calling her an ignorant when she is an ignorant bitch!!! 😝
The soul and emotion being felt here is outstanding 🥲😪💜
The scenario in which she is performing “Landslide” and the amount of emotion in her voice...it’s an incredible moment to capture. The video itself is art.
This was her moment. I would have cried if I watched this magic in person.
Yeah, unbelievable that people are just walking by an angel 😇..
Absolutely
I cried seeing it on RUclips. Tbh
She prob does it most days,
Literally crying as I’m typing this… tears of joy. My mother took her life a few years back and this was her favorite song.

Somebody tell me why gifted artists like this get no recognition while we're forced to listen to the commercial clowns daily?
It's actually pretty simple; the music industry has perfected their systems so well like a well oiled machine that they know exactly what they're looking for. They're looking for repeated success to get a return on their investment. People like her have to work 100X harder to become successful in the industry by creating a following already and be able to show a good record of already producing assets (songs, albums, etc) Only then do labels invest since there's proof of success. Also Rock is like 5-10% of the industries source of income at the moment so that makes it even harder.
Eric C also politics amongst musicians.
Çause they won't sell their soul not for sale
You aren’t forced to listen to shit. If there was so much of a demand for these artists they’d be mainstream but instead they’re going broke because people like you just feed on what you’re being fed. There’s plenty of talented artists like the one shown in this video, just look a little.
She’s on RUclips and your commenting about her performance isn’t that recognition....
Girl hit straight out the park 🔥
This is a guy
Sorry wrong video I retract my previous statement
Right out the station * 😂
Yup and right back into the city! 🙂
Sounds a bit Neil Young esque. She needs singing lessons but not bad at all !
This resonates in my soul just like the raw and powerful effect of a burning sun I love Fleetwood Mac I grew up on bands of the 70s 80s and 90s this kind of talent only comes around so I wish her all the best she needs to be heard
A lot of pain in that voice. It's beautiful.
Exactly my thoughts 👌 along with the acoustics on that platform make it quite powerful.
It is a great performance.
Kids take note, no matter how talented you are bad choices will wreck your dreams.
I think you meant allot of pain listening to that voice. At least what I hope that's what you meant.
@@hockey365 that doesn't even make sense 🤷♂️ why would he have meant that? Its the pain in his voice, just like he said.
@@jeremyhinze8837 it's a woman. You don't even know the obvious gender but you can sure hear that "pain"?? GOOD luck to you.
Well Said.
gorgeously said.
What are you talking about? Obviously a dude. Not a chick. And can't sing if his life depended on it. People are so easily led in nefarious directions.
Thank the universe he recorded for everyone to witness!
Keith Harden maybe you have to already love landslide by fleet wood; I noticed it was all chicks giving money and it’s a song loved by women?! I absolutely love this song and it is what made me want to play guitar when I was a teen. This rendition is sublime
you really do get goosebumps watching this, it's crazy.
every once and a while I come back to listen to her
I liked how she made it her own. There was something more emotional about the performance, like she was expressing a different emotion than Stevie nicks when she sang it. And her guitar skills added alot to it as well. Shes a talented musician.
i didn't know the song before, anf i cried when i heard this performance. Looked up the original, but it aint got nothing on this rendition.
@@Rem_NL seriously this is a very special piece here, cannot be replicated i contiguously come back to this.

Slim plays from the heart. She is lovely.
That's because she is. Have you seen how few views and followers she has? The person who recorded this video has more followers on youtube than she does. I hope that you followed her because she has given years of her life away to perform this at this level for you.

she came out of her human body, and went celestial on this guitar!
For real
Yeah.. Her voice is haunting and speaks to my soul..
Good to see appreciative people recognising the the effort, let alone the talent
I feel it in my soul, that is some of the greatest re-invetions of a song I have ever heard. Most people wouldn't realize they are standing in the presence of greatness. That is raw talent, that is what the industry is afraid of. You can't teach that shit
Her voice is powerful I haven't had goosebumps like this in a while
I love the passion she put into this
Jimmy The Gent I feel like you can hear the pain pouring out in their voice.
This is incredible. Wow
her voice touched me but I can't explain this feeling it's honestly incredible her voice
Its the passion & the pain
I could truly feel her pain.
the reverb makes it feel more meaningful somehow, as the performers voice echoes through the tunnels, it feels more lost in some way, but the reverberations keep it alive for so much longer
Gives me Tracy Chapman vibes
Absolutely killed it. I love when someone makes a song their own and doesn’t just cover it but molds it to their own will

How can anyone dislike this? She murdered that guitar surprised it's not on fire. 10/10
TheSmilodon85 I agree. She's a cutie plus a beautiful voice. She's gonna make someone a lucky guy!!
Hahahahaha.
Hyperion Prime that's a dumb reason to dislike the video lmao
Well, since you asked... I like the song, and I can play it myself. It is a delicate song, and I just don't think this variation on it really fits the mood of the song. Innovation can be great, but not always. Maybe she should try playing a Led Zeppelin or a Who song in this frenetic acoustic style, it might work. Not for Landslide, though. Not for me. JMO.
Been 8 years and i still come back every few months . Depends what mood im in or if ive had a hard time.
Raw . Real talent .
My country was once filled with artists like this who have migrated or are hidden in local pubs not getting sales .

I love her voice but I'm actually thinking the opposite, there's no dynamic at all to her playing, and the strumming is many times out of rythm. But yeah, that's not the mainfocus here, her singing is absolutely stunning.
