      Exactly, by the way, at that time (and maybe even now), Eddie Hall was/is a bit stronger than Thor in shoulder press (this Viking press is similar, despite they use legs, but same as log lift...), so if Eddie Hall has a higher maximum, it's obvious it can do more reps at a lower weight (if in shape with full power & no injury which could lower the performance) , that's physics.

    I like Thor as an athlete and as a good family guy now that you see him more on RUclips etc but there was a time, around 2017-18 that he had a reputation for unsportsmanlike behaviour. I seem to remember this Viking press against Eddie and also a deadlift event against Brian Shaw. The reality was that he lacked the static strength to compete with Shaw, Hall and Zavickas for about 5 years or so in the mid 2010's. Now, he is dominant though and he deserves all the accolades that he has earned.

    Thor doesn't seem to comprehend that even if he was given the extra rep, that Eddie would've just done more. He acts as if Eddie went before him and was maxed out, when the fact is, Eddie went after Thor and just did what it took to beat Thors total, with reps left in the tank.

    The biggest thing holding Thor back is that parade of yes men he always brings with him. He shoulda contested this call and he should of contested the deadlift call later on in the same competition but his yes men are always stroking his ego "you're the best you're unbeatable" so crucial calls are missed until they're too little too late

    1:21, really doesn't look like double dipping in slow mo... you can see his knees were bent the whole way after the initial push and don't bend again when pressing, they just lock out a bit late and he leans forward.

    • @99999george
      @99999george 4 года назад +3

      It was a bit harsh but rules are rules. His knees needed to be locked out before his heels hit the ground. By that point his elbows were already locked out overhead so the last portion of the rep was done entirely by his quads which makes the rep a lot easier. It's a bit like a clean and jerk, no one fails the rep after locking it out overhead because it isn't hard to get out of a half lunge.

    Eddie looks like he’s shit down on lock out every time he lifts things that are heavy. Goes from absolute push face to no one is home blind to the world face. What a display he puts on every time.
    For those saying even if Thor’s last one counted Eddie could have done more no matter how many Thor did: remember this was shortly after Thor’s Bell’s palsy episode. Half of his shit was shut off and he had to wake it back up over some years. Maybe without that happening to him Thor could have done 30? Doesn’t matter now so realize excuses and what if’s never change what actually happens.
