    The ref says "turn" and then calls it back, such a odd decision.

    Pavlo clearly didn't cross the line but the referee clearly gave it to him. Bad judging in my opinion. Why do you even have just 1 judge for 2 athletes?

      It went over my head at first but the replay ten seconds later literally showed the ref giving Pavlo the all clear, so like wtf???? Just give him the distance then cuz you told him he did enough

      Like yeah he technically didn't do a full lap, he did 99.99% of a lap. Take the missing inch off, don't take the whole lap.

      @@magmahawk583 But if they're measuring for total distance, then why is the ref needed and why does doing a full lap matter? Some people go more over the line than others, I'm sure that's counted and if it's not then it should be.
      The line should be there as an arbitrary point because turning with the weight is part of the exercise, and if we didn't want to see them turn then they should be on a circular track or something.

    Hooper is an animal. I remember the first year I saw him compete (2021 maybe?) I knew he was going to be monstrous in another year or two. Also insane how fast the Slavs are, they just dominate in the speed department

    The one thing I hate about strongman competitions etc is I want to see static weight not running endurance.

      They do all kinds of events. Many are static type.
      Your preference is not uncommon though, and a frequent discussion amongst strongman enthusiasts.
      I like 50/50.
      Things like this shield carry are unorthodox enough to test different types of "strength", imo.
      But a good old fashioned log press (e.g..) is necessary in the mix.

      The difficult part is holding onto it with the arms, if they move faster they won't need to hold it as long, it's obviously a good strategy

      Try carrying anything close to that heavy and walking slowly. You wouldn't make it anywhere near as far as you would moving quickly, it's all about the upper body muscle fatigue.
