Despite his amazing instrumental skills, I have always thought that Marco's greatest musical quality was his voice. Even at age 56, he never fails to impress!🤩

Waltari is one of the pioneer metal bands in Finland, they started in the 80s and they have had a good career. They are kinda epitomy what Finnish music is: open-minded and progressive. Waltari has combined many different genres of music. Metal music has always been the main thing, but it has also combined electronic music, pop, rap, funk, folk music, art music and classical music. Waltari has done fourteen European tours as well as smaller tours in Japan and the United States.
I love Waltari. Unfortunately they don't get half the attention they deserve. Last concert here in Switzerland only a handful (around 30) people came to see them. But anyway, we had a blast 🙂

This video was made in the "Home Studio" of "Korpiklaani". A Finnish metal/folk metal/"party Heavy" band. The guy with the "dreadlocks" / "Rastafari" behind the computer is their vocalist and the bold guy is an Accordion player. They use traditional folk instruments like violin and they have songs in Finnish and English. I`ll bet you would love their song "Vodka" , "Jägermeister" or an Anthrax cover "Ennen". So check also "Korpiklaani"

You should also give a listen to Waltari's earlier albums like "So Fine", "Big Bang", "Blood Sample", "Release Date" and "Yeah Yeah Die Die (A Death Metal Symphony)"... very interesting stuff, also stylistically diverse...
Thanks guys! Marko is the KING! He "started" his international career in 1986, band called: "Tarot". With his brother in guitar, they are still rocking. Even during his Nightwish-times Marko was part of like 8-9 bands/combos. He made a World Tour with "Delain" just for fun and cause he was "not busy". He has also made many acoustic gigs and recordings. I would recommend "Powerless Trio", Marko, JP. Leppäluoto and Ari Koivunen. Songs like "I see Fire". Best Regards from Finland!

The original version of the song is also worth a listen. There really haven't been decent purifying cold temperatures in the Southern Finland this winter. Barely below zero doesn't quite do it. Would have to go to Northern Finland to get truly purified. Here's one Waltari's song incorporating Metal, Techno and Sámi music. Sámi are a Finno-Ugric-speaking people inhabiting the Northern part of Fennoscandia: "Waltari + Angelit - System Ođđa Áigi (Live, 2000, HD, 720p)". Waltari was also one of the first bands to incorporate Metal and Classical music. There's a funny clip of the project with interviews: "Waltari - Death Metal Symphony - Live at Helsinki 1995 DOCU". Song from the album: "Waltari - Deeper Into the Mud". E.g. Nightwish made their their first demo in 1997. A local music magazine gave the band credit for musicianship, but stated that the music itself was marginal and noncommercial.
This was at the studio owned by Jonne Järvelä who is the lead singer of the Finnish folk metal band Korpiklaani - a unique sound as they have a fiddle player and accordion player. I think you would like their song "Niemi" (official video ruclips.net/video/MI5XU1V06w4/видео.html) which is really rockin and sung in Finnish. Or the more light hearted "A Man with a Plan" (official animated video ruclips.net/video/bc0sJvtKrRM/видео.html) - the plan is to "booze as much as I can" lol

I deleted my previous comment. Not that I am not proud of it, it was just a spontaneous reaction to your comment, but I just don’t want everyone to know. And I had to stop training, teaching and coaching a couple of years ago due to physical health problems. It has been a big part of my life and I am still struggling with that. 😞
