I have to say big props to you guys. You’re putting in the work this off-season like no one else covering the Yankees. That’s real dedication Thanks guys
right he hit 22 homers with 65 RBIs plus he played over 100 games Goldy will be fine. i have no concerns plus playing at the stadium should help his swing the dimensions suit him.
I really mean this- This is the best Yankees channel online! You two are a must watch daily. With that said; I’ll love your opinions, I know and imagine you’re busy but if you have some time, that’ll be great. I believe this scenario is very possible. I’ll trade Gill and Spencer Jones for bohm. Third base would be solved for the next 7-10 years. (Next season- 2025-2026) I’ll move Cody to first , Domínguez to center, keep judge in right add Kyle Tucker to Left … Battling line up- 1. Bohm (3B) 2.Bellinger (1B) 3.Tucker (LF) 4.Judge (RF) 5.Stanton (DH) 6.Domínguez (CF) 7.Wells (C) 8.Jazz 9.Volpe Potential ALL Gold gloves in the infield. Potenial ALL Gold gloves in the outfield with Judge and Tucker- the jury is still out regarding Domínguez fielding. If Bellinger has a great year, We could probably extend him for 4 years at 23.5 per year. (Discount) I BelieveTeams would not commit paying over 23.5 Per year considering his streaky career. We sign tucker for 9 years 30-32M per year. Bohm resigns or gets extend in his last year of ARB 2026 for 7 years 130M 18.5 M per year. Don’t let Williams walk, sign him to a 6 year 100M contract. That would make him a top 3 paid closer in the league. Stanton’s 2027 and 2028 contract actually drops to 14-15Million a year due to the marlins original agreement - so that drops his salary 10 million per year. DJ’s contract expires in 2027, if possible, trade him covering 10 million of the 15 million owed, that saves the Yankees 5 million. With Stroman, DJ’s(covering 10 million of his 15million via trade) and Stanton’s salary dropping from 25M to 15M over the next two years (after this season)- the Yankees essentially will have enough money to make all these moves happen, and solidify this team over the next 5 -6 years to truly contend for the World Series each year. They’ll have the best defense in the MLB (infield and outfield) a Top 3 pitching staff, Top 3 bullpen, plus a top 3 if not the best lineup in baseball , with Volpe under team control over the next 4 years, Domínguez over the next 5 years, Wells over the next 5 years, Schimt over the next 3 years. Ideally, Soto has a down year- he hits 280- 27-30 (more consistent with his career avg) - while still a good year, the sentiment would be , he wasn’t worth 51-52 per year over 15 years- this would help correct the market to more reasonable contracts , which will help us get Tucker. It wouldn’t hurt if VLAD Had a down year by his standards as well. Also, I love the fact that Tucker will play his last year in Chicago. He’ll have no one to protect him in the lineup- so theoretically he shouldn’t have monster year before he hits free agency. That’s my spiel
Not as optimistic about Arenado (b/c remaining contract). At this point, Cashman has two required moves: (i) trade Stroman $, and (ii) get Brendan Donovan or surprise us with the last piece (probably as a trade). Ideally, we get a 3B player and let Jazz move to 2B. Whatever happens, this last move is crucial.
Goldschmidt is not the most ideal pick this offseason, but I’m happy about the deal. He is not at his peak anymore but is still better than Rizzo, DJ, Berti or Rice. Yankees have another year to develop Rice now.
I think the thing that's being overlooked is the fact that the Yankees have great young players that need to be given time to develop and this first base move does that. They upgrade defensively and also have an experienced player that can mentor Ben Rice in a platoon.at first.
I'm in the camp of trying to overwhelm STL into trading Donovan. But I'm using quantity over quality. I'll go up to the line, but I'm not gong over it with Jones and Gil (Dominguez isn't in the conversation). If that means we can't get him and would have been able to, so be it. But a four or five prospect package is plenty. Not that simulators are the end all be all, but Donovan is listed at 26.6. Arias, Warren, Perreira, and Vivas is 27.9. That's just to give an idea of what equal value would be. So if we offered Schmidt, Arias, and Perreira, that's like 40. That's an offer they'd have to consider. And the deal can be sweetened from there from our recent draft class or lottery tickets deep in the system. We'd have to over pay. But that doesn't mean shipping out our blue chips. This isn't Jose Ramirez we're taking about here.
It's a smart move. Can't know for sure what Goldschmidt will bring, but we've seen a lot of veteran guys like him do well in their "send off" Yankee tenures. Where else would you want to finish your career as a star? (Stadium, co-stars, intensity, playoffs, old-timer stars, NYC, player facilities, travel, hotel, media ) Unless he has nothing left, we will see decent production and, like Stanton, he can be.a play off presence. [Lastly: I want see Ben Rice as a back-up 1B, C and DH (when Stanton is hurt)]
signing Bregman in addition to the 4 other excellent players they added is the disproportionate response to losing Soto that’s needed if they’re going to continue to be the New York Yankees.
Good evening Alex and Ryan Alex you don’t look too fond of Paul Goldschmidt signing well every one else either had two years left on their contracts for trades. Basically they wanted too much for someone that’s only a one year rental and some have a qualified offers me personally I would’ve picked Santana switch hitter with no qualified offer but judge had something to do with this. Ryan looks like he likes the deal What I’m trying to say is it’s too late to cry over spilt milk let’s just root for Paul and hope for the best because the one thing I have to say Cashman did a very good job. Remember this word Soto who? What that man did to the Yankees and the remarks he said about the Yankees I hope the Mets don’t win and they come in third place for the next four years and the Yankees win 2 World Series in the next four years. What do you think Ryan and Alex?
You guys are so focused on regression. But it’s regression from a top player. He mashes left handed pitching, which is a massive yankee need. Even if he platoons with Ben rice sometimes, Goldy is a good signing. Yanks had the worst first baseman production in the league, Goldy is an upgrade, no question. And better than Santana
I don’t love the move I but I don’t hate it. Upgrades 1B greatly. Need to dump Stroman’s salary and get infielder. Team is significantly better defensively, bullpen and pitching is much much better. We are in a better spot.😊
to me we're set at 2B third base is where we have to look for options. Jazz's natural position is 2B so it's best he's the starting second baseman try to get Yandy Diaz or someone else.
I don’t see a ton of risk signing Goldy. This is nothing like Donaldson or Dj or hicks or rizzo. This is ONE year! There’s almost no downside. Goldschmidt got way worse last year, but way worse from the best player in the league. He can be an above average to average first baseman. And that is a massive improvement from what the Yankees had last that. I liked Santana but for a cheap contract. For the same money, Goldy all day over Santana, it’s not close.
If I can make one phone call and call Brian Cashman and say please please call up the Padres and try to convince ha Sung Kim to play second base and pay him $15m AAV and this team will just go next level
It’s still an upgrade at 1B….just till we get vlad Guerrero…. next year the Yankees success will rest with Jason Dominguez…he was the minor league Juan Soto…. If he’s a dud.. the Yankees will be a dud because Judge will be the only consistent threat(during the season)… everyone else is streaky…
so Dominguez averaged a HR this season every 28 at bats...far better than Verdugo who he is replacing every 42 at bats..if 550 at bats its 20hrs...his lifetime MLB is a HR every 14 at bats thats 40hrs...less than 20hrs ?.....we are looking at 25..and maybe better! if you look at Rices number he did better than 25 over a season,,,,Donavan is basically Arrenado almost identical last year...one I dont have to give up squat..nobody can predict aging....
Hey Alex, hey Ryan back again I can’t believe what you just said Donovan for Spencer. What are you smoking over there? Stop wagging your knees back-and-forth you look very nervous. Donovan only has two years control left I believe. I would love to have Donovan but right now the hot news is Schmidt good friend across the diamond Arenado could be coming to New York I think how will go over $300 million for only one year Cashman said because next year a lot of money is coming off the books again!!!!!!
Derek Jeter by the “analytics” is a way below average fielder yet he’s has some of the most iconic defensive plays of all time in the playoffs and arguably the best in the flip play (beside Willie over the shoulder catch) so the best way to judge a player is that they are human and watch them play. Enough with the analytical bullshit you bot
The last thing the Yankees needed was another old, slow, unathletic, right handed hitter at the end of his career who strikes out too much (27%) and walks too little (7%). His defensive metrics grade is 0. In other words he's league average at best. The best part of this signing is that's it's only a 1 year commitment. Will he provide better production than Rizzo, probably, could the Yankees have done better, yes!
I have to say big props to you guys.
You’re putting in the work this off-season like no one else covering the Yankees.
That’s real dedication
Thanks guys
He will produce way more than Rizzo so that’s a win
right he hit 22 homers with 65 RBIs plus he played over 100 games Goldy will be fine. i have no concerns plus playing at the stadium should help his swing the dimensions suit him.
There is no major risk it’s a one year deal he’s good enough and will produce way more then the Yankee first baseman in 2024
Exactly all the crying about this move (other than Naylor went for basically nothing to the D'Backs) is ridiculous
Lowe went for nothing too
There absolutely is risk. The risk is that Goldschidmt keeps regressing because he's OLD, and that's another year off of Judge and Cole's prime.
Let’s go boys! Thank you for the content!! Love these videos / streams.

Golden has something to play for now. Go Goldy
Golden

Goldschmidt will provide solid defense , workman leadership and an occasional bomb to go along with some big doubles in the gap and down the line
Goldschmidt is not the most ideal pick this offseason, but I’m happy about the deal. He is not at his peak anymore but is still better than Rizzo, DJ, Berti or Rice. Yankees have another year to develop Rice now.
Blow the Cards away with a good prospect or two and get Brendan Donovan! Then we'll have a lineup that can take on anyone, even the Dodgers!
I think the thing that's being overlooked is the fact that the Yankees have great young players that need to be given time to develop and this first base move does that. They upgrade defensively and also have an experienced player that can mentor Ben Rice in a platoon.at first.

The sky is falling, the sky is falling...
Hey. The sun also rises....
DJ is poor all around. His defense was also below average. Yankees should release him. I know he is owed 30M. He's become another Donaldson.
I love these ideas. Since Cashman wants Arenado I’m not sure I’m not sure what exactly he wants in a 2b / 3b. 🤷🏾♂️
Do you think we can pretty much guarantee no on Arenado?
It's a smart move. Can't know for sure what Goldschmidt will bring, but we've seen a lot of veteran guys like him do well in their "send off" Yankee tenures. Not a smart move unless it means they are getting arenado

Kim appears to be the most realistic option.
not worried about Goldy he'll be fine

The plan is in 26 we move bellinger to first sign Tucker for left and get Donovan now
I don’t love the move I but I don’t hate it. Upgrades 1B greatly. Need to dump Stroman’s salary and get infielder. Team is significantly better defensively, bullpen and pitching is much much better. We are in a better spot.😊
trading with the Rays is always weird/risky...but Brandon Lowe would be amazing

Goldy ok for one year. There’s still gas in the tank. Good friend of Arenado. Still need big bat! Santander, Hernandez?
Massey, Arraez, Brandon Lowe or Donovan would be great to complete the offseason then sasaki
Walking waste of space 😂😂😂😂
We lost because of a bad manager, shotty defense ( see manager). Not oz! We have no idea how good or bad he can be. Those are that facts
If you could speak a bit slower.
Only real options for second or third are arenado or bregman
If I can make one phone call and call Brian Cashman and say please please call up the Padres and try to convince ha Sung Kim to play second base and pay him $15m AAV and this team will just go next level
How about training Ben Rice to play thirdbase?
LMAO
You content is good but you both speak much to quickly! You need to improve your presentation skills.
Give me more Gleyber Torres
I want profar
Hes too bad defensively unfortunately would be great otherwise. Has to be Correa or Arenado

Go get Geno Suarez
Trade for Jeff McNeil, don’t need to give up much and Mets might paid part of his contract. Yankee Stadium will be a good fit
brandon lowe
Hey Alex, hey Ryan back again I can’t believe what you just said Donovan for Spencer. What are you smoking over there? Stop wagging your knees back-and-forth you look very nervous. Hey! I would trade Jones for Donovan in a heart-beat -- Donovan isn't a free agent until 2028. Jones prob wouldn't even be enough to get him tbh
League average Goldie ?..wow i guess they give out mvps and gold gloves to really average players.
Goldschmidt is OK. Just OK.
He’s better than Rizzo not much of a risk
that's all we need we don;t need greatness just solid play and we'll get it
Carlos Correa if possible
Guys are hating this move its a 1 year deal guys he can't be worse than Rizzo nobody can
Which is exactly what we said!
Its an even dumber move now that lowe was also traded for very little
the nitpicking kings.
thank you these dudes need to relax Goldy will be fine i'm not concern at all
@@johnpestano22 we went through the pros and cons lol
Catastrophic drop off? Stop all the analytical nonsense it’s a much better situation at first base than it’s been in a few years
The “analytical nonsense” is the best way to judge a player
