😂 your my hero dude. From the Bravo bust to the squawk 7600 when you don't want to talk anymore and when the tower hits you with the light gun say you suddenly went color blind then when they wanted to defer your medical say your sight returned and finally when you say "I have ATIS information Yankee (or whatever) I have the weather" understand no one has the weather. Someone once told me if the radio is a big problem for you you're doing something right because it's "aviate navigate communicate" so you obviously understand your aircraft very well if the radio suddenly is the most confusing thing instead of the least confusing thing. But this video just perfectly defines what I believe any realistic practical person actually believes about spamming too much information on the radio and needing too much of a call back where you need to write a book just to read back the last radio phrase. 😂 this is just classic. Why keep it simple when you have all these tips and tricks? 😂
I'm such a newbie pilot, I got about half way through before I realized these are all things you should never, ever do. Hey, at least I figured it out!
I’ve been watching these videos for about 6 months now, and I just wanted to say thanks for doing this. I’m so caught up in my preliminary training that sometimes I forget to have any fun at all. You’re the man!
I'm surprised you didn't include "Declaring an Emergency" method of getting ATC to talk slower to you. A bonus is that they will navigate for you, and also clear all traffic away from you, so no need to scan outside for collision avoidance. lol
Great advice, another classic. One change I would make though, instead of "cancel IFR clearance", I would record the IFR clearance they give on a hand-held digital recorder and just play it back to them over the radio........
As an ag pilot flying helicopters I haven't landed at a real airport in years, let alone talked with ATC. I found this to be a brilliant refresher. I have just signed myself off for a flight review having not done one in 6 years. Your instruction is awesome, thanks!
I have had enough pilot training to know you are the best aviation enthusiasts channel on the tube. If you ever rename your channel, please consider calling it “The Lighter Side Of Air”. You have the best timing 🤣
I've actually learned a ton from him. He reminds me of my favorite accounting professor. We'd be slogging through some obscure accounting entry and he'd stop and say, "Wanna know how the mob records that?" Oh, hell yeah, we remembered everything once we understood how to cook the books.
You forgot to call departure and let them know you've been trying to contact them about their vehicles extended warranty. That will get them to ignore you real good and forget about the whole number thing
Hey Bryan, one more thing to add, you forgot to cover how hard it is the learn the phonetic alphabet. I say instead of spending all that study time, just make up you own. Like, Apples, Bananas, Cats, Dogs, Etcetera. 😂😂. I actually heard a pilot on the radio say he had information bananas. 😮😂
OMG ... LOL at 1:00 !!! That is exactly what it sounded like for me the first time haha. I am literally in tears and have replayed just that part 20 times now.
YES!! Explosives Specialist.... Now it's time to have some fun! Seriously though, that IFR clearance is so spot on that it's almost like a controller was giving it. 🤣🤣🤣
You are so funny!!! BTW, if you fly in Canada, try using French in the province of Quebec, then switch back to English every often. Fun time to be had...
Your "Cancel IFR" one I've actually used before. Back in the dark ages when I was flying the 310 on dog flights and had someone along for time building, we were taking off out of the Boston area and got some long ridiculous clearance with airways the whole way to Ohio. He was completely flustered and couldn't keep up writing it down, and I just waved at him like "Don't worry, I got this" not writing anything. When the clearance was done I responded "Eight Sugar Pop, we'll just go VFR." The time builder just started laughing and said "I thought you actually were remembering all of that and couldn't figure out how you could catch that clearance."
Alright... this vid had me rolling 🤣. Poorly towered airport, any traffic in the pattern I'm with you, cleared via magenta line, and my personal favorite >> Pilot to Atc: switch to my frequency. 🤣🤣 Well done!
The funniest part of this video is where Bryan really does forget to change his transponder back after this video 😆 Thanks for the great laughs though for real brother. I really did need this today.
I tried your technique once with about five hours under my belt, I was inbound five miles out of delta airspace, made my radio call… tower instructed me to call on the downwind abeam the tower… I replied Cessna Blah Blah Blah, CLEARED TO LAND… tower replied “ you ain’t cleared for nuthin!!!” My instructor laughed so hard I thought he was watching one of Bryan’s videos! 🤣🤣🤣
Thank god the word "Phraseology" does not figure in RT convo's .....else this channel would not exist !!! LOL LOL LOL Cheers and thank you for a humorous video ....errr radio ....err audio ... you know what i mean!
Hey! That's my dad. He used to pull that crap all the time, then when I had the radio, they would take it out on me. He also ran out of fuel, which I warned him about, and we had to land on Rt. 40. Goddamn Santini he was. Embarrassing as Hell. I am going to watch the rest of your videos. Thanks.
Somehow I have the idea I already saw this on a fake live stream about a live stream. Thanks for having the opportunity to see this back to perfect my comms.
"123xy you have just entered class bravo without a clearance" "Ah, si mi avion es muy bueno y bravo gracias" "123xy, get ready to copy a number!" "No tengo numero pero yo tango muy bueno tequilla, gracias". "123xy, have a nice day ..."
Thanks. I now feel qualified to handle comms. As a non pilot I always feel kind of worthless when I fly with my friend. The JAFO hat doesn’t help either. But now I can run the radio while he steers the plane. Now, thanks to you, I’m more than 230 pounds of ballast.
I'm like you and I love the comms stuff. Best part is learning just how many idiots are up in the air and telling my friends who only fly commercial the things I hear.
I see another invitation in your future. Funny as hell but we all know who does not have a sense of humor. Thanks for sharing your demented humor, fits right in with mine.
I love your videos 🤠 literally laugh out loud every time 😂😂😂
Lotsa planes in holding patterns on Saturday mornings…… Just sayin’!

Hey Mike, love the pool. That Spanish Fork project is outstanding!! Now, back to work!😀👍
I'm such a newbie pilot, I got about half way through before I realized these are all things you should never, ever do.
Hey, at least I figured it out!
I’m right there with you! Just finished my radio communications ground, and red flags were going off throughout this video.
@@joshua.merrill It's pretty darn funny now that I get it!
lol
Lmao literally same
But, now that you know, you know you secretly want to bust bravo, too!
"Self clearance" - I just spilled my coffee! 🤣
- Martin
man I laughed so hard, cause it definitely sounded like an auctioneer call when I heard my CFI talk on the radio for the first time...
I found that yelling TORA! TORA! TORA! and quickly diving on approach gets me ahead of any other traffic in the area.
Was in the middle of watching this but I saw Patey dropped a new video
Hahahaha!!!!!
Well played, sir. Well played.
I’ve been watching these videos for about 6 months now, and I just wanted to say thanks for doing this. I’m so caught up in my preliminary training that sometimes I forget to have any fun at all. You’re the man!
Same here - just I'm in the UK
.and I wanna go to OshKosh in 2022...
I'm surprised you didn't include "Declaring an Emergency" method of getting ATC to talk slower to you. A bonus is that they will navigate for you, and also clear all traffic away from you, so no need to scan outside for collision avoidance. lol
"I'd like to cancel IFR..." BWAHAAAHAAA!!! Darn you, Bryan, I spit out wine laughing so hard at that!
Great advice, another classic. One change I would make though, instead of "cancel IFR clearance", I would record the IFR clearance they give on a hand-held digital recorder and just play it back to them over the radio........
mwahahahahaha
Squawk codes can be really useful. You can also squawk 7500 to see fighter jets up close and if you squawk 7700, you can land pretty much anywhere.
using 7500 while in DC you get to practice your formation flying skills and you get a curtesy car at the airport
As an ag pilot flying helicopters I haven't landed at a real airport in years, let alone talked with ATC. I found this to be a brilliant refresher. I have just signed myself off for a flight review having not done one in 6 years. Your instruction is awesome, thanks!
Part 137 allows load crew to sign off a BFR.
I thought the “auctioneer controller” was perfect. That’s about how they sound when you’re starting out!
I'm just starting out. Can confirm.
Second this...
I like the Uber and lyft stickers on the rear window lol..
That's for when he's taxiing without needing to get approval from the tower
Dude - you are golden. Been studying up on comms all day and stumbled on this about fell off my chair laughing. Can't wait to share this one.
I have had enough pilot training to know you are the best aviation enthusiasts channel on the tube.

I always found when busting the Bravo that squawking 7500 got me through just fine
OMG ... LOL at 1:00 !!! That is exactly what it sounded like for me the first time haha. I am literally in tears and have replayed just that part 20 times now.
How to troll ATC. I loved the Bravo one when they want to copy a phone number. It was awesome.
Gotta love the "Student Pilot"🤣🤣🤣
Bryan: JFK tower, this is Grumman 7jb, request
Tower: Grumman 7jb, go ahead
Bryan: cool, your taking requests, how about “is this the way to amerillo”
This is the only video that worked for me, I’ve been struggling with atc for a while but you sure helped me thank you man
YES!! Explosives Specialist.... Now it's time to have some fun!
Seriously though, that IFR clearance is so spot on that it's almost like a controller was giving it. 🤣🤣🤣
Who else noticed the squawk at 3:34 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Bryan, you're hilarious! Copying/canceling the IFR clearance and the self clearance had me crying, lol 🤣😂
Haha. This is amazing.
Haha! The auctioneer voice at the beginning was hilarious. Great mix of humor, glad to have subscribed!
Thank you. I am very glad to have you.
You are so funny!!! BTW, if you fly in Canada, try using French in the province of Quebec, then switch back to English every often. Fun time to be had...
Matt “ just follow your magenta line” 🤣
But being from Louisiana, we understand “Auctioneer” . . .
Preflight binge drinking is very important😋
"It can sound like this ...." Uncontrolled laughter, could not stop. Yep. That's the way it sounds to me.
This has been the most useful video I have ever seen, works every time.
Pretty much all the mastering any budding pilot could ever need.
Thanks Bryan and Spencer, hilarious!
Squawk 7600: this advice alone is worth the cost of admission 🤣
For 9 minutes of learning absolutely nothing, this video was great😁👍

"I gotta finish my chipotle" LMAO. You just got a new subscriber, I'm laughing so hard lol
And "animal trainer" in the credits lmaooo!!
Alright... this vid had me rolling 🤣. Poorly towered airport, any traffic in the pattern I'm with you, cleared via magenta line, and my personal favorite >> Pilot to Atc: switch to my frequency. 🤣🤣 Well done!
I didn't learn anything from that video....I was too busy pissing myself laughing! I better watch it again :)
I absolutely love this video! Im saving this for the books. “Student pilot” made me laugh. Well done my man 😂👍🏻
"This guy is good!" -N731NR (probably)
I learned everything I need to know about class Bravo right here! I now have the confidence to ace my checkride tomorrow!
The funniest part of this video is where Bryan really does forget to change his transponder back after this video 😆 Thanks for the great laughs though for real brother. I really did need this today.
All I got was “I have to finish my chipotle”😂😂
I love it very funny. On my last flight review I used your “I don’t do stalls”. And it worked. Thanks. I do fly an Ercoupe.
HAHA!!!!!
I always demonstrate my stalls a few inches above the runway.
Halfway through I’m crying lol, this is so good since I just started my IFR training

I still can't believe I learned a useful method for remembering cloud clearance and vis requirements on this channel lol
This is Freaking Awesome!!! Came out perfect!!! 😆🤣
Really made me laugh, self clearance then squawk radio failure, first class!
Much too freaking funny! As usual. ' sorry , voice mail ', love it! You are Awesome BrYan. Thanks and Blue Skies brotherman!
Hate I didn’t get to finish the video. Had to leave to watch the Mike Patey video.
Never heard of her
"Get Back to Work!" ....Mike Patey 2021
That’s disrespectful

Bust whatever airspace between here and there and I have to finish my Chipotle! LOL
Thank you Newbie pilot here thank you so much for making this video ❤✈️✈️👩✈️
You go from CFI: Uptight and hoping to teach well
To CFII: chill and ready to teach
To CFIII: teaches students How to cheat on their checkride
I am working on my CFIV That's when it gets weird.
@@JustPlaneSilly That's when you Checkride the DPE
Somehow I have the idea I already saw this on a fake live stream about a live stream. Thanks for having the opportunity to see this back to perfect my comms.
😂😂😂 I’m like wait what,…. CFI then takes over haha !
And who doesn't love a bit of preflight binge drinking? Especially Denzel, amiright?
Oh F*** me!!! I'm a student pilot and now have laughing cramps. Thank You!
"123xy you have just entered class bravo without a clearance"
"Ah, si mi avion es muy bueno y bravo gracias"
"123xy, get ready to copy a number!"
"No tengo numero pero yo tango muy bueno tequilla, gracias".
"123xy, have a nice day ..."
Man if only a video like this was around 10 years ago. I would have been king of the skies over Toronto
Ok you got me on the one. Hands down the funniest thing I’ve ever seen on RUclips! Liked and subscribed!
Thank you very much. I appreciate the feedback and really appreciate your subscription.

Somehow I think I am big going to fallow this guys instructions
"runway inspection hold short. roger cleared for takeoff". bam into the bird truck
Hahaha i thought this was serious up until "squawk 7600" 🤣🤣
10/10. Still the biggest powermove in aviation is to cancel IFR on the holdshort because you don't want to wait
Well done sir, well done 😂
I finished my Chipotle while watching this.
Hey, you're right, you're flying an airplane, how can they expect you to copy numbers 😂
If you want the tower to slow down, giv'em your best Forrest Gump when asking for clearance....
All the things to do to lose your license. But still very funny, keep it up and stay funny, I mean stay safe, peace.
Awesome content. I can now get away with murder in the air each time I busted an FAR.
The auctioneer 🤣🤣🤣
1500 hours in Flight Simulator and your tutorials. Now I know how to NOT to do a Trevor Jacobs stunt.
Bryan, classic! That is up there with the NASA report. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. You should reference that since you had a segment on busting Bravo. 😮😂😂
Thank you!
Looking forward to the day this makes sense to me.
It will come and you will laugh even more.
Best aviation channel ever!!!
I am humbled. Tank you very much. That means a lot to me.
LOL! Hilarious! I'll keep searching RUclips for "real" help with radio communications!
Oh you've come to the wrong place my friend LOL!!!
If they give you grief in the Bravo just shout out “tally ho” just before entering and that’s universal clearance to enter.
So awesome 😎
Just popped up on my feed... I am guessing I am not 1st!!!! :)
LOVE the credits!
A Rogue Pilot - LOL. Liked and Subscribed.
Thank you!
Hilarious. Sometimes I talk too fast and ATC can’t understand me.
Say again?
The auctioneer is spot on hahaha
Just excellent
Brian; you knocked this one outta the park. We watched it at last night's IMC club. Lots of belly laughs.
Thank you! That's very kind!
And thanks for sharing with your club.
Brian, your humor has made learning easier. I didn't know that was going to happen.
Kelly, that’s Bryan with a “Y”. 😂😂
Kelli with an I!
