On Thursday, following a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, US Vice President Kamala Harris claimed that there is “hopeful movement” towards a ceasefire agreement and a hostages deal, and reaffirmed her commitment to a “path forward towards a two-state solution” one that “ensures Israel remains a secure Jewish and democratic state.”
Harris’s support was outlined to Netanyahu as a commitment towards ensuring Israel’s ability to defend itself from “Iran and Iran-backed militias such as Hamas.” In further reaffirmation, she described her efforts throughout her career as one that proves her “unwavering commitment to the existence of the state of Israel.”
