Yes, I agree. Many years ago, I purchased a small book which contained texts of old German Christmas songs, including this one by Martin Luther. A few weeks before, I had bought the cassette tape of this record and could not stop listening to it. Soon I decided to sing this particular piece solo during the Evening Prayer Service on Christmas Day in the parish community of which I was a member, having listened to this particular track over and over again while annotating under the text lines in my little book. Several fellow parishioners came up to me aftwerwards sharing with me how deeply moved they were by Luther's text and the wonderful melody to which it was sung (by which I do not necessarily mean the quality of my voice...). To me, it is a gem of a meditation, never tiring during repeated listening/singing.
Thanks, Joch Vomberg, for posting this recording. I've been looking for it for years, and now I've found it again at last! A Christmas Gift it is!
