  • Ark's Gigas are amongst the strongest tames you can get. But that doesn't mean they're the best.

Throwing ability would be kinda goofy but turning creatures on their riders is actually a really cool idea since it’d actually be good for the Giga and fits it since that’s what it does when it gets low on hp, another thing they should do is let it into the tek cave since the Carchar can and it makes the Carchar quite op and they should make it apply a status effect like the bleed it has in the wild, the same effect the Carchar applies or something new (maybe something similar to the Amarga that works like a meter and when the meter is full the opposing creatures harms itself or its tribemates similar to the roar you suggested)

Honestly, I do think the gig is powerful well. A little bit like they may be scary. They're really fun to use a little bit for me because it was hard knocking. That thing out, and it is a very big creature and honestly. Although it's
A little bit decent, but at least it's a little bit fun to use around But honestly, I do think it does need a tlc, because the old one. Well, it's a little dated, but at least maybe add some unique abilities to it like have. Its war be stunned Creatures and players up 6 Minutes or pick up like big creatures like a Rex. Or Spino or small sore parts like the megalosauru. But either way, I think that would make the gig. Ger hyped

From my perspective as a new player on the Island (ASE only so far, mostly in single player mode) the answer is an absolute yes the Giga is very overhyped and overrated.
In fact I would consider the Giga absolutely worthless.
It can’t help me when I go Artifact hunting in the caves.
It can’t help me fight the bosses.
It can’t even help me go through the Tek Cave which is actually my next task.
And it can’t help me fight the final boss of the Island.
Every single task that I would want a Giga for, it’s banned from. And everything else actually on the Island itself out in the wild can be done by a couple of Rexes. Even better, the Rexes will remain loyal to me no matter what.
I’m planning on attempting to tame that lone Carcha lurking near the summit of one of the mountains on my version of the Island because although it shares many of the disadvantages of the Giga, apparently it can at least enter the Tek Cave.
So in theory I could leave my other nineteen tames (I’m assuming the limit is twenty like the boss fights as I can find no reliable information on the limit you can bring in single player mode) behind at the entrance area just after entering the Tek Cave and use the Carcha to clear the cave of threats. I could then go back and bring the rest through for the boss fight. The Carcha could play a very important role even if it can’t be brought to the boss fight.
I’ve heard that there are some fights where you can use the Giga later in the game and I might be tempted to get a Giga or few for those but on the Island I see no need for a Giga.

@@mikoto7693 yea all of this is very true in my opinion, on the Island, there’s not something a Giga can do that another creature can’t do. Also if you’re on PS4 or 5 you can bring 50 creatures into the Tek Cave but only 20 to the Overseer or Final Boss Fight, Most People just bring 20 or a little more just in case they lose some doing the cave, thx 4 commenting have a good one

@@dee6349 Indeed I’m on the PS4, at least for the time being though I’m planning to upgrade to the PS5 soon, after I finish saving up for it. In any case, thank you for telling me that the single player Tek Cave limit is 50 tames. That’s actually really useful information that I can use to update my plan.
Namely that I can aim to bring around 30 in with me, both to compensate for the inevitable losses that I’m bound to take and to fine tune the team to take to the boss fight. I’m actually thinking about bringing along a mix of Rexes and Theris now.
I’m going to try the Beta version though I have the tributes to gamma too so it shouldn’t be unreasonably difficult. (I was initially going to stick to gamma but after trashing the game bosses I went for Beta.) We’ll see how it goes.

@@dee6349 Thank you, it’s definitely appreciated. I got a tip from one of my tribe friends on my multiplayer character that I can make it easier to line up the tames by building platforms across some of the lava. That was an absolute pain to do-finding viable places to set down pillars, foundations and whatnot but it was worth the time and aggravation.
😆 I went all in and attempted to bring the full fifty tames by forming a few manageable conga lines-but ran out of time. Still, 43 excluding the shoulder pet was actually quite satisfying. I both loved and hated my new Carcha, he was a colossal pain in the butt to successfully tame! What a hassle. But I’m not sure I would have succeeded without him.
For safety’s sake I brought along one of the two Yutys, Daeodon and three Rexes to back him up while I flew overhead on an Argy. (I force allowed flyers in caves.) It was still a brutal journey and all but the Yuty and Argy got wiped out by a cluster of enemies near the Giga guarding the entrance into the cold area. So of course I lost several more after carefully bringing the others over to overwhelm it with numbers. I eventually got to the teleporter with 23 left excluding the otter.
Gotta admit that I really enjoyed the segment aboard the space station and seeing the Arks and learning the lore. I had no idea that was where the Obelisks sent me-into those rooms to be observed fighting the guardians by the Overseer. So I rallied my remaining tames into another conga line and went forth.
But the Overseer was one tough cookie. I ended up Beta Ascending with only three surviving tames not counting the otter. And a whole lot of broken weapons and equipment. All in all that was one of the most difficult tasks I’ve played in a video game for years.
I spawned back on the Island where I’d fortunately stored a full set of backup gear to replace what I lost. The question now is what Ark to go to next? I still need to do a final bit of work preparing who and what I bring with me, but I’m torn between going on with the story and go to Scorched Earth-I hear it’s not nearly as lengthy as the Island-or going to the Crystal Isles since I really like the crystal Wyvern gifted to me on my multiplayer character. (Ok I GMSummoned one because I couldn’t go back to the super slow Argy but I do want more.)
I have absolutely no idea which one I’ll choose yet.
