In Dinosaur Revolution, Utahraptor are seen hunting Cedarosaurus(?), a large sauropod. That’s the stereotype that guy is talking about.
@OdinKralgerat no. "Bleed damage" isn't a real thing, especially with large animals. An animal the size of a large sauropod has so much blood that the wound would close long before it ever bleeds to death. And it was not only the giga that give sauropods. Lots of other predators hunted them too, including allosaurus, t.rex, charcharodontasaurus, and many others. Lastly, the giga most likely didn't even kill the sauropods. They most likely bit off a large chunk of flesh to eat, leaving the sauropod alive to heal up and be hunted again in the future.
I would make diplo use it’s tail to knock away enemies from the sauropod and it’s second attack will be a neck swipe that could toss allos 100s if feet away. Btw nice to see someone who also agrees sauropods in ark arent that good 👍

Amargasaurus can go to the boss fights. Wiped the floor with the monkey. But the servers shut down before I could take them to dragon. Getting a saddle bp for them was the worst.
I mod ark alot, and in devkit, bronto and diplo both have extra unused animations. Ones for stomping and tail swiping. Which means at some point they both would have had these attacks and its quite easy to bring them back in. So Idk why wildcard never bothered to do it. Not to mention brontos animations aren't the best. My friend ghidorah made a big Argentinosaurus for our mod and its so great. its everything the titanosaur should have been. If you want good sauropods look at the modding community. cause they are pumping out some of the best I've seen. I think shadlos has some good ones aswell.
They lost that niche. In one of the earlier ASA patches, they reduced the amount of plant nodes it could hit at once. Bronto is not even that good for berries right now, use a theri, procoptodon etc

Honestly, sore parts are okay. Honestly, like I don't really use them that much, but sometimes they could be really useful, especially some of them with the platform saddles to make like really cool stuff on them like make like a mobile military tank encedola. Honestly, I mean some of the sore parts are useful. Some others. For fun but honestly, I just hope they'll in the future build. Make the sore pods unique by making some Have TLC have special attacks kind of like the brachiosar in the modern one? But I don't know what do you guys think
I agree with you here. I just mean the only reason why you would tame them really is for fun. I think there should be a reason to tame that’s useful for beating the Ark

I even had a red twirex toy too. And I would make them fight, and that was really I wanted To see that in a game I even watched like store pods in movies and Discovery Channel about them when I was a kid. So, let's hope that they get loved like. Add unique abilities to them. Make them feel like store pogs that we know in love. Hopefully
The bronto is not useless. It’s a great farmer for heaps of narcotics and makes taming herbivores easier earlier on in the game. And the platform saddle is there too.
There’s several changes the game needs. Multiple creatures have been ignored but the devs seem to not care at all and jus t pushing towards map releases
I have an idea for the bronto to give its platform a use I personally love building on them but give brontos a HUGE weight reduction to stuff on their backs so can you make a mobile smeltery, dino pen or breeding enclosure and also fix glitchyness of dinos falling out
The diplo is pretty fair as to why it doesn’t do damage. Since it can carry so many people at once, said people can use their weapons to fight whatever may be nearby. Combining the diplo knockback with ascendant or tek weapons from multiple players, and just about anything will be destroyed in seconds/minutes(depending on the type of creature.)
I’d want them to make them have more base health, and more interesting abilities. The Diplodocus not having a Tail whip attack is crap. The Broto is only useful for harvest a large field of berries. The Titanosaur and Liopleurodon need a TLC so they don’t have a temporary Tame status. I’d like to see Dreadnoughtus and Brachiosaurus get useful abilities. I’d also be impressed if they made all the Allosauroids (Giganotosaurus, Carcharadontosaurus, Allosaurus) have bonus damage to Sauropods because that’s what they hunted.
While I guess I can see everyone wanting a better sauropod... we already have SO MANY. Bronto, Amarga, Diplo and a Titanosaur. Plus, if you use mods, which are now crossplay, Brachiosaurus (who will also become official now; but that wasn't known in the extinction vote). Why on EARTH did people vote Dreadnoughtus? We could've finally had an actually terrifying giant pterosaur; but no, we got out 6th Sauropod. Bruh
Granted I’m a new player and I have a bit of an obsession with mobile bases and I’m still on the island. (Almost ready for my first attempt at the Tek Cave though.) But I’ve found a way to make use of the Brontosaurus with the platform saddle. Basically I put one on the middle of the map on the open plains, swamp area and redwood biome as a mobile base in those areas. It’s quite nice to have a base that can walk between some of the cave sites or if I find a better spot or I want a change of scenery, but yeah the Bronto kind of sucks. It’s slow, even when you divert some points into movement speed and stamina. But it also needs a bodyguard, especially when on the move and especially when you’re wading it through a swamp. I do have to assign a Rex to follow alongside and watch for incoming attacks when moving. Never even tried to tame a Titanosaur partially because I mostly play in solo mode and I don’t know if it starves itself in solo mode and I don’t really have the patience to take one down on the unofficial server my multiplayer character is on. I adore the Quetzal though, even if it is frustratingly slow. After building my first mobile base on rafts I’m really good at cramming things into a small platform. While I’d prefer it to hover indefinitely while I’m not aboard, it’s just a case of finding a good landing spot a short flight from the cave I’m artifact hunting in. Deploying a couple raptors or Sabertooths as guards usually works. But yeah I wish the sauropods were better.

@@dee6349 Of course I enjoy building a proper fortress too. Metal is a bit too expensive to use in building a massive fortress but stone does the job nicely. So much so that I have three main fortresses strategically placed on the Island. Double walled to prevent tames potentially clipping partially through a wall and attracting trouble. It’s just fun making a couple dino enclosure rooms, a storage/living area room, workshop and hatchery. It’s reassuring to have the breeding pairs safely tucked away in a fortress. Anyway thank you, I hope to try the Tek Cave tonight or tomorrow. Just a handful of things left to prepare.
Btw as a very very hard ark player you made good points but the hole thing about the dipplo is to take a large group of players across the map on official faster then running

Imo the main problem with sauropods is that they are too slow, large and herbivores, you cant force heal them with meat. There is just no reason to tame them over something like rexes, allos, therizinos, etc. They just get outclassed by everything and them being so slow just makes them boring af most of the time
Because they have no weapons. Real life sauropods were not fighters. They survived by growing quickly and getting really big. That's it. So when you try to take a creature like that and put it in a video game, you have to make up absurd ways for it to do damage, which is difficult to do without it looking silly. And no, there were no sauropods cracking their tails like whips. The g forces of such a move would snap the tails right off. And trying to use their tail as a club would also shatter the bones in the tail and do more damage to the sauropod than to the creature it tried to hit.
I think the biggest problem with the Suropods are the appearance designs of them. The Bronto and Titannosaur are stereotypical Suropods that you can put slap other Suropods’ names onto them, they look too broadly Suropod. The Amaga looks really ugly, if they ever took inspiration from actual paleo arts it wouldn’t look this off. The Diplo is currently the best looking Suropod, but it’s the old reconstruction.

You say that when ark has so many good herbivores and lesser creatures that have propelled them in pop culture. Some of the must useful animals in the game are herbivores. The sauropods suck and there are some bad herbivores. but its not just the herbivores. a lot of the insects and fishes are useless tames, the bats are. there's a lot of more useless tames I can think of. Bronto can actually get berries. alot of the creatures in ark should be looked at and improved.

My mods and other mods do add strong herbivores on giga tier to the game. so even though wildcard is busy doing p2w creatures right now. instead of making good prehistoric creatures. You can atleast play some mods with some good herbivores worthy of standing up too the big predators. Sauropods deserved better in ark. Shame they have alot of unused animations in the dev kit that are good and make them more powerful. titanosaur should have been perma tame.

2:13, not even that, the desert titan has a bigger platform saddle, and If you are thinking “well the desert titan is only temporary” THE TITANOSAUR IS TOO, at least you don’t have to make the desert titan’s saddle and it’s much easier to tame.
I think you missed on the Titanosaur's worst trait: if you manage to tame it, it'll refuse to eat, which means it'll eventually starve to death.

The amragasaurus is insane for base defense. They lower enemy saddles and armor to primitive. Almost impossible to soak a base while you have 25 armor
Actually diplos can't crack their tails like a whip in real life cuz it would hurt the animal. But adding it into the game would be awesome.

You say that when ark has so many good herbivores and lesser creatures that have propelled them in pop culture. Some of the must useful animals in the game are herbivores.
The sauropods suck and there are some bad herbivores. but its not just the herbivores. a lot of the insects and fishes are useless tames, the bats are. there's a lot of more useless tames I can think of. Bronto can actually get berries. alot of the creatures in ark should be looked at and improved.
@jurassicarkjordanisgreat1778 Recently they have improved a lot of the herbivores, that's true. When most herbivores were added they were a lot worse. But the carnivores are still the strongest creatures by far

My mods and other mods do add strong herbivores on giga tier to the game. so even though wildcard is busy doing p2w creatures right now. instead of making good prehistoric creatures. You can atleast play some mods with some good herbivores worthy of standing up too the big predators.
Sauropods deserved better in ark. Shame they have alot of unused animations in the dev kit that are good and make them more powerful. titanosaur should have been perma tame.
@jurassicarkjordanisgreat1778 Oh yeah the mod herbivores are great. Additional creatures and ARK additions has lots of good herbis, Torosaurus, Deinocheirus, Brachiosaurus, Apatosaurus
Nah quadropedal get used more but majority is mammals 😂
2:13, not even that, the desert titan has a bigger platform saddle, and If you are thinking “well the desert titan is only temporary” THE TITANOSAUR IS TOO, at least you don’t have to make the desert titan’s saddle and it’s much easier to tame.
