    I tried this method this evening for Mexican tortilla soup… O-M-G… makes SUCH a difference! I’ve always made my soup 1. Sauté onion 2. Add garlic 3. Add veg/chik broth 4. remaining ingredients 4. Bring to slight boil then add chicken breasts. At that point the soup is on a low but consistent boil. I’ll let it simmer until chicken is cooked (~20-25 min), then take chicken out, shred, add chicken back to soup. I’ve always like the result but my wife won’t touch the soup; she has a very delicate palate and doesn’t like the chicken flavor. This afternoon I watched your video wondering if I’m “boiling chicken wrong”. Yup, I am! I tried this out tonight, asked my wife to taste the results, told her I’d tried a different method… she had two bowls! Bam! You Ms. Eileen, are amazing!!! Thank you!!!

    Hey friends! I'm so glad this video is helpful for you. I've received a few questions on my stove settings so I figured I would answer it for you here! The front burners on my stove are "double-burners." This means one burner functions as 2 and has 2 different setting sides - one side for small pots and one for large pots. Around 1:52 seconds into the video it looks like I turn my temperature to the number 6-medium, but its actually the number 2 - one spot above the low temperature. I hope this helps!😊 You can read the FULL Instructions here: marshaeileen.com/how-to-boil-chicken-breast/

    thank you Maple. I have a cheap recipe i use this for.. since everything so expensive. You do the chicken like you did, get some canned corn and beans and some salsa. Pour the corn and beans into a baking pan, put the shredded chicken on top, and top with salsa. Bake at 350 for like 15 min. Then top with cheese. super cheap, tasty and easy. Its like a santa fe taco bowl. can put it in tortillas or just eat it normal. I like to add some taco seasoning into the corn and beans. This method worked great for me thank you!

    Marsha you are a jewel. This way of boiling chicken is fantastic! I was lost with boiling chicken. Now thanks to you, I got tender and delicious chicken. I will use it for soup, salad and casserole. ❤

    First time in my life boiling chicken after seeing your video! I usually just cook it on skillet with oil. (yes, gets kind of hard too).
    The chicken I boiled came out perfect. Going to make flautas -
    Thank You!

    Great job! Would like to add a different way that you won’t regret! Add half an onion, 1 garlic head, and 1 bay leaf + the salt. It will give an amazing flavor to the chicken!

    Thank you! I was meal prepping for some shredded chicken taco salads for my lunches...I had a whole bunch of things planned that evening...little did I know that shredding tough chicken breast would take so long. Didn't get a single other thing done and swore I would never make shredded chicken again because it was such a pain. I'm excited to try it again with your tips, because the salads were definitely delicious and I saved so much money that week!

    Hi Marsha, thanks for this video. I have a question. Once I turn down the heat to low and let it slow boil for an hour. Do I put the lid back on the pot for that hour or do I leave it uncovered?

    • @maplejubilee
      @maplejubilee  3 года назад +6

      I put my lid back on but I crack the lid a little bit so steam can escape.

    Thank you SO much!! I only had thinly sliced chicken breasts available to use so this information was critical. Came out perfect in my chicken soup! I also like how you speak clearly, are direct and to the point, easy to follow, and do NOT yak on and on like some other RUclips chefs. I can tell which people have to cook everyday and have people waiting for them and which ones don’t based on how much they talk. Lol 😂

    • @maplejubilee
      @maplejubilee  4 года назад +13

      Lol!!! That was my issue too! You wont have to worry about that anymore sis if you do it this way. But you literally have to watch it come to a boil because as SOON as it does that's when you want to turn it down to low. One time I wasnt paying attention and must have been 5 min too late and my meat came out rubbery again lol. The next time I paid attention and it was perfect!

    Hi there! Can I use this method if my meat is still a little frozen? I forgot to thaw my chicken as of yesterday so this morning I left it out on a plate for a few hours and want to boil it now. Do you think one hour will still be ok to cook it?

      Hi there! I actually have not tried this method with frozen chicken. I will say that I thaw my chicken all the time in the sink with cold water and it thaws out really quick.
