  • I have to fix a water leak on my car - quickly!
Water gets into my Nissan Micra whenever it rains.
The car’s floor is wet, the interior is mouldy (and partly removed), and there’s more water leaking into the car every day.
    The video includes:
    • testing a car door, sunroof, and scuttle panel for water leaks
    • removing the windscreen wiper arms on a Nissan Micra
    • taking off the scuttle panel on a Nissan Micra K11
    • finding horrifying rust and the cause of the water leak
    • how I stopped water leaking into a car (quick and easy).
Let’s find out together how to stop water leaking into my Nissan Micra K11.
By the way, this car only cost £100 - but I didn’t want to buy it. A mystery subscriber ‘dumped’ it on me. Follow the story at CarSpyTV.

HI Stephen and thanks . I will take your advice and use gaffa tape around the screen surround .I don't seem to have any water ingress around the bulkhead, but it might be coming in under the windscreen--although it seems unlikely being a bonded screen. But thank you for your reply.Hope you both have a peaceful Christmas

My 98 Nissan Lucino (Pulsar) leaks the same way and going to remove the Scuttle today - hoping the drains are only blocked and not a big rust hole. Thanks for such an awesome video! your video was the first to come up in the search results :)

@@CarSpyTV I got the scuttle off and found a build up of a lot of gunk blocking drain holes. I poured water in and no rust holes but I think the water was getting in under the windscreen. Anyway I put it all back together and put the hose on the windscreen and no more leaks! Dehumidifier is now doing the rest inside.

For future reference. Do not remove windscreen wiper blade. You can remove the housing bolt and take the whole lot off in one go together. Saves smashing your windscreen.. like I did 😂

Maybe it's a good idea to clean all surfaces additionally with alcohol or cleaning gasoline before sticking something on it. This gluing should last a bit longer - hopefully... ;-)

Some Micra K11s have a pollen filter (but I'm not sure if they all do).
If your car has one it's probably behind the glovebox. You might therefore have to remove the glovebox - and other components - to access it.
It's a similar job on my Nissan Primera P12. Video below.

I suggest you look for shark fin antennas on eBay. Some of the listings confirm which cars each antenna fits.
At a glance, I didn’t see any for the K11. That’s not to say there isn’t one somewhere, of course. Good luck.

I want to know how to change language Nissan primera p12

    • @CarSpyTV
      @CarSpyTV  3 года назад +3

The Primera owner's manual says: press 'settings', navigate via the joystick to 'language', press 'enter', then select your favoured language.
However, on my car - which is in the UK - there is no option to change the language. I can only chose miles or kilometres.
Hopefully your car is more consistent with the manual.

    • @CarSpyTV

Does your car have a sunroof? If so, I'd see whether the drainage channels are blocked. Good luck.

    • @Cortinaman63

@oisin2237 Also check the seam sealer in the engine bay in the corners close to the windscreen area, seam sealer can split open, (It did on a K11 Micra I am doing restoration work on),, and water was coming in to the car there, and also check under the front wings, as there was a small rust hole on the bulkhead up by the top corner on the near side, which allowed water to get into the car when it was driven in rain, with water thrown in from the wheels, and it was a lot of water in the foot wells like this one in the video had,.
Also worth removing the plastic arch liners at the front, as a lot of dirt/mud can build up behind them at the bottom of the front wings and can rust out the bottom of the front wings & A Posts if left to sit there, (2 bolts at the front, and 5 cross head screws plus 3 plastic button type clips hold the arch liners on, pries out the center button bit fists then the surround pops out, so easy to remove to check A posts condition, and body structure, and there is a cross head screw on the arch liner under the sill, (bottom of A post close to front wing bolt fixing point) don;t forget to remove that to be able to take out the arch liner. hope this help you, or other with the search for water leak issue on a Micra K11.
