    I’m IN LOVE with the Nars light reflecting foundation. 💓💓I have oily skin. It covers blemishes, doesn’t cling to dry patches and holds up for 9 hours without primer or much powder without looking greasy. I literally CRAVE this foundation, It gives supermodel skin. Never feels heavy or cakey!!

    I wear this foundation every day. I absolutely love how long it lasts and looks on me. I have extremely dry skin and it looks great all day for me. It looks beautiful on you Allie!
    I just got the Nars light reflecting yesterday and it did not last on my dry skin. I put it on around 6:00am, and when I picked my daughter up at 3:30, and I couldn’t even see it on my skin anymore. I need to give it more wear before I truly decide though.

      Thanks Trisha! I have extremely dry skin and I wondered if this foundation would work for me! I feel more comfortable now trying it out! It gets so frustrating paying $40-$60 for a foundation only to have it either disappear or look patchy and creased on my skin.

    • @MyCleverHandle
      @MyCleverHandle 2 года назад

      I don't have dry skin, but I use a moisturizing tinted sunBLOCK as a primer under any of my color base/foundation schemes: loose mineral powder, or BB or CC cream. I don't understand how foundation can just "disappear"; are you wiping it away during the day or what? I could understand fading or settling into lines, but total disappearance?

    • @foxymama2003
      @foxymama2003 2 года назад +1

      @@MyCleverHandle It is like my skin absorbs it even with a moisturizing primer (I haven’t tried a tinted one and I might try that to see if it helps! My skin drinks skincare like water because I am chronically dehydrated also after a major abdominal surgery. My skin was always dry but after surgery, it got much worse. I use a night cream both morning and evening (I use Chanel’s hydra beauty skincare line and their hydra beauty sunscreen). I let it all soak in while doing my eyes and then apply my foundation. I use a setting spray after I apply all my makeup and then press it in with a sponge. Not all foundations disappear but several get really patchy after about the 4 hour mark. I didn’t notice any transfer, but it was like the foundation soaked in like my moisturizer. It might just be that because I use such extremely moisturizing skincare. Some foundations don’t play well with that.

    • @trishamarie
      @trishamarie 2 года назад +1

      @@foxymama2003 you just described exactly what happens to foundation when I wear it. The Charlotte Tilbury foundation lasts even with a mask on all day (I am a dental hygienist), and Friday was my day off and I didn’t leave the house until I picked my daughter up. When I looked in the mirror, I could see all of my redness, freckles, and a healing pimple that were pretty well covered up when I applied it that morning. I know it’s very light coverage, but it lost all of its coverage throughout the day. I have been wearing makeup for 29 years, so I know my way around a foundation. My skin has become extremely dry since 2020, before that I was dry/normal. I get no oil on my skin throughout the day anymore, even in the humid summer months in Michigan. It’s now Sunday morning and I just applied the Nars again, we will see what happens! My skin looks gorgeous and even right now. Hopefully you see this comment, and I will check back in again later today to update you! The CT beautiful skin is still my favorite. I wore it yesterday all day, and looked almost as good as when I put it on as it did when I took it off. It’s worth the money in my opinion, and you can build it up and it still looks beautiful.

    I have super dry skin. I do a full skin care routine to keep it hydrated. I have tried both this foundation and the new NARS foundation. Neither of them lasts as long as the previous Dior skin glow formula, but they discontinued that line and I’ve been searching ever since.
    Nars looks beautiful on my skin for a few hours then it oxidizes and breaks up rather quickly. I only wear it if i know I’ll only be out for a few hours.
    The Charlotte Tilbury foundation lasts much longer but I’m not crazy about the texture. I also don’t feel like it blends well with my brush. It looks glowy on the skin and lasts almost all day. It does tend to break up a little on my cheeks after a while, not my smile lines which I found surprising.
    I really thought i would love them, but for ny skin neither of them is really a slam dunk love.

    Thanks for your review! I have purchased & used both of these foundations. It took alot of thought for me because neither one is inexpensive! I don't use a primer (although I have tried it) with the CT. I confess...it's just "ok".
    .which means I'm disappointed because of the cost. My Loreal Infallible is as good. My mature skin is normal to dry.
    I find the Nars find drying, but better with the new NYX primer (yellow bottle). It's not $49 good.
    I feel like I wasted my money on both, honestly. But, I will try to make them work. My 50 yr high school reunion is coming up & I wanted something to make be feel gorgeous!!! But, I'll just work with what I have!
    Thanks, Allie for all of your good advice!

    I tried the Charlotte and didn’t like it at all :( I have pretty sensitive, acne prone, normal skin. I’m not especially oily or dry but my skin reacts to a lot of things. The foundation initially sat nice on my skin, however it felt very heavy and greasy on me throughout the day. I noticed it was breaking me out with white heads, and within an hour or two no matter what I did I would always have crazy creasing around my smile lines. I wore it three different times and had the same opinion each time :( I ended up giving it to my friend however, and she absolutely adores it. I’m going to try the nars next !

I personally would use Milani Concealor / foundation for the same result. L’oreal age perfection is another. Sorry about selecting drug store foundation but thats what I meant by nothing special. I want to try the new Nars as well, but the ones that are 'supposedly' with neutral undertones pull quite yellow on me and get even more so as the day goes on. Perhaps I should aim for a warm undertone and see what happens 🤔.

      Hi Cathy. That person was just rude. I have both of these, and like them both because they have no spf and no strong scent, which is great for my sensitive rosacea skin. The CT did cling a bit to my dry patches but I’m using a retinoid so I don’t blame the foundation. The CT is definitely creamier and more dewy which can emphasize texture but also makes you look glowy and healthy. The Nars is more lightweight so I think I will do the Nars for daytime and the CT in the evening. They both have nice coverage but not too much… Neither one is especially long wearing on their own but that’s ok with me. My 52 y/o skin did NOT like the Chanel No 1 with its heavy fragrance and it felt very dry and I could not get a good shade match so I might return that one, but it is definitely more long wearing than the Nars or CT and I found it difficult to remove so maybe just for special occasions & photographed events.

    I love how thorough your foundation reviews are! They are short and packed with info! I wish I could knock down my time in my reviews 🤦‍♀️ I seem to go on and on 🤣 I think this one looked great on your skin and lasted pretty good. I would have to agree with you. I like how the Nars looked better at the end of the day on you. Love you XOXO 😘

    I'm 59, combo skin, I did not like the Charlotte Tilbury. Way to glowing and didn't have a skin like finish that I was hoping. I haven't tried the Nars but got it foe my 80 year old mom and it looks great on her except I got a touch too dark. Great review Allie!!

    Allie! I’ve finally found a dupe for the Dior Glow Lip Balms that you/I/we all love. It’s the Catrice Glow Lip Balm. I’ve got the hemp/mint one that is green in colour (has a menthol feel to it) but it gradually turns my lips a pinky red colour. It’s also an amazing balm. Just thought you should know (if you’re planning a dupe video soonish). Laura from New Zealand

    I'm neutral like you and I was so disappointed then I ordered their foundation, so maybe I need to go with the cool undertone. This was helpful!!

    Both the NARS and CT have been compared a lot. I prefer NARS as CT is too glowy for me and doesn't last as long, probably due to all the skincare ingredients. I find that when foundations focus a lot on the skincare bit, their lasting power is less. The same thing was with the new Kosas foundation, it transferred a lot but I really liked it for days when I don't have to wear a mask

    The Nars does not look good on me… I LOVE the CT!!! I have normal-dry skin. I am
    AMAZED by the CT because it doesn’t settle into my fine lines!!!

    This foundation didn’t work for me. I hated it at first. But then I mixed it with the other Charlotte tilbury foundation the airbrush flawless one and it’s so beautiful.

    I can't decide between kosas and the new Nars foundation. I wonder which would be better for acne prone skin? Your skin literally looks airbrushed it's so beautiful!

      I have both and they are pretty similar actually. On my face I think nars is maybe a touch more coverage and I've been complemented on my skin while wearing both, I don't think you can go wrong with either. See which one has a color that suits you best. Although I will say at the end of the day the kosas wears better and the nars kinda starts to look makeupey.

    You should wear nars on one half of your face and Charlotte on the other. I'm more dry I tried the Charlotte flawless filter and its a tad drying. I am anxious to try the beautiful skin when its not viral as its sold out most places. Thanks for your insight I love this channel!

    I had a few foundations I was interested in so had gotten samples. I really expected to love this CT one. I wore the 3N, but now wondering about the cool one as well? It was the first I'd tried & I liked it. But, after trying the new Nars one & then the reformulated Dior forever glow I liked them better with the Dior being my favorite. That being said, I've more recently tried the new N1 de Chanel and that one is now top of my list. Only thing I noticed tho after wearing it longer the 2nd time is that it's definitely not a longer wearing foundation. So I'd save that one for times I wouldn't need it on all day. (Also going to try primer/setting spray that lengthen wear time. ATM I wore ones that would give the prettiest finish.

    I just don’t know how I feel about this foundation yet. One day it looks beautiful on my skin the next makes me look older. Now it looks beautiful if I’m not dry and my skin looks good( not breaking out). I’m dry af in the winter this year for some reason lol. I’m usually oily af so I’m wonder if on the summer time it’ll look better. Yesterday I was having a good skin day not to dry more combo and my skin is finally not breaking out ( don’t have to wear masks at work anymore) and it looked beautiful.
