Hi, it hurted a lot for me overnight and the next day but slowly it got fixed automatically. The cornea healed itself :)

Bro what do you mean it hurt so much when a got a corneal abrasion and it took two days to heal and the last day it was healing it was horrible and the day after it felt like there was a big line scratching my eye socket dude also if you lose vision in one eye it’s actually better it’s opposite of what most people think 1 eye is better than two first off it’s less pain to deal with less headaches and causes most people to focus more it’s only a small curtain over the vision cover your left or right eye while it’s open don’t touch it tho and that’s what it’s like
You can get through it im sure of that i cut my eye before and cut deep too so i know how bad it hurts but it wont last long just hang in there

My girlfriends dog unintentionally clawed my face off when I was playing with her and now I have to deal with a corneal abrasion... which surprisingly isn't so much painful as it is annoying because my vision is blurry and I constantly have the feeling of something in my eye but luckily it's getting better now

I had this happen to me when I was 4 years old. I got poked in the eye with 2 hours left in a car trip and my mom thought I was being dramatic. Turns out it was one of the most painful experiences someone could ever have.

I just went to the hospital for this problem. They gave me some antibiotic eye drops and percocet for the pain, and it's helping a little, but I can tell you this: it is one of the most painful and irritating things I have ever experienced. I got no sleep whatsoever and my eye was so red and swollen, with so much tearing up, I thought I had a much more serious problem! It really surprised me just how painful something so simple can be!
Contact lens use is also a common cause of corneal abrasions, because the lens can get something stuck under it, or the lens may be damaged. Improper fit can also cause it. Dry eye can also cause abrasions as the tissue can get stuck together. People with collagen disorder diseases can easily have this happen. Ointment is messy, but effective.
I've had a corneal abrasion before. It is PAINFUL! I had to go to the emergency room.

That is what an abrasion feels like. You likely have one. Sometimes the "sleep crust" that accumulates in our eyes actually gets in it and can scratch. You also could have rubbed your eye during your sleep, or even poked it. I accidentally scratched my eye with the edge of my sheet once. Yes....That happened.

I was outside weedeating around a tree and walk into a tree limb poke my left eye I've scratch my corneal I've to used antibiotics sulfacetamide it was very painful and everything was blurred from my left eye I've learn my lesson wear safety glasses when weed eaters the reason why I don't wear them because when I'm outside breathing the glasses fog up on me
I'm on my fourth scratch now. All four by letting my contacts get too dry and having them move and removing part of the cornea. Usually heals after one night with ointment. The third time was the worst. Woke up at 2 am after I forgot about my contacts and rubbed the hell out of my eye with a dry contact in it. I was out of service for about 3 days. One cool thing to do is take a weak flashlight, or your phones flashlight on low power, and look into a mirror with the flashlight facing the side of your eye. Move it around and you can see the shadow of the scratch on your eye.
When every I blink my right eyes hurts
I am about to have a nervous breakdown. I was applying mascara, the wand slipped and the bristles scratched my eye. Now my vision is blurry and when I look into the light, I can literally see 3 scratched down my eye. They are literally in the middle of my pupal. I am terrified because I know that isn’t normal. And now I’m having anxiety that it won’t heal.

bruh, i have this right now, and this is my 2nd time having it, believe me, nobody wants this, it like a piece of something is in your eye 24/7, lasts for 2-3 days, and it’s TORTURE

PLEASE READ!!! I got mortar in my eye really bad 48 hours ago I thought I was gonna have to see a doctor because my eye was in so much pain and kept tearing up like crazy. The first night for me was terrible and so was the morning, but if you cleaned you eye out good with water after contact you should be good. I'm already better and my vision is normal. I used blink gel tears(blue package) and bought an eye patch all at walmart. Yes every case is different but it should only take 2-3 days for a scratched eye to heal. But if the pain is just getting worse and signs of infection then I'd probably go see a doctor. I had every symptom of a scratched eye. So i just babied my eye used a soft material to gently clean out the eye buggers and stayed away from light as much as possible and used the gel tears and eye patch when I felt like I needed it and everyday it got better! I hope this helps! If you have insurance seeing a doctor would help.

i had 70% of my cornea scratched off, nothing really helps the pain expect going to sleep until you can make it to the doctor like he said in the video they will put a bandage contact lens over it but over all the pain is the worse thing in the world just always,,, always wear safety glasses

This has happened to me with soft contact lenses... Bacteria found on the lens, I have one tiny corneal scar and unfortunately it's on the pupil. It doesn't stop me from driving or watching TV or anything like that, but I cannot focus when reading and I have to close one eye which is just uncomfortable to do. I believe it will heal soon and have faith in God that it Will, At the moment dealing with this sort of thing is bugging me because I cannot concentrate on anything. Started on New Year's eve as an ulcer and healed to a scar after a week. I now have to wait for the scar to fade and heal...

Hey, just leaving this here. My cat had scratch my eye right in the middle, in the middle of the pupil. I’d almost lost my driving privileges because it was that bad. Well, my doctor gave three different little bottles to put a drop of it every four hours for about 3 weeks. After that a drop of steroids (for the eye) for a week. Now, I can almost see perfect with my eye. I am almost 20 20 again. It left a scar, but through time we’ll fade away. Since my scar was right in the middle it would take longer for it to fade away. But I am much much better and very happy. Though for sure I was going blind.
If anything, buy any eye drop for cleaning so it eliminates any bacteria and see a doctor. The same eye dropper cleaning you use to clean contacts can work.

houseofsavoy2000 Glad you liked the video. For standard corneal abrasions, the longest healing time that I have seen is probably 2-3 days for a large abrasion. When it becomes a complicated situation (poor healing / eyelid problems / nerve sensation problems) abrasions and defects in the surface of the eye can last for weeks or longer. This may be a good topic to cover in the future. Thanks for watching!
I scratched my eye this morning with my fingernail. It has been about 13 hours and i see no sign of healing. It seems that my eye has gotten weaker like i need a stronger prescription. I was just wondering if this is normal.
No, it is not normal for the prescription to change from a scratch on the eye, but it can cause blurred vision. Hope you're doing better Aidan LaPoint.
***** At times, we will use antibiotic drops initially when there is an abrasion, but these wouldn't help with chronic pain. Should check with your doctor to make sure there isn't a more serious problem
is it ok to wear contacts after the abrasion is healed?

I scratched me eye with mascara brush about 2 month ago. My eye healed but twice just by blinking a d closing eye in the shower rips of my abrasion and the pain starts again. How do I stop this from happening ? I wanna live a normal life bit this is keep happening. I depressed. I have been putting ointment in my eyes daily.

I scratched mine with car visor hurt a bit for 3 hrs then it increasingly hurt so bad i had to go to the er, believe me it hurts more than being kick in the nuts. Had to go to optometrist to have a clear contacts to cover cornea to heal. It is the most painful feeling ever, getting a shot in the mouth for numbing gum and having a root canal is nothing compared to my scratched cornea . 2 days later still my eye tears up .

I have it right now. I have a extremely high pain tolerance and it's testing me big time.even when I blink it's excruciating I'v not slept in 48 hours. eye boogies are plentiful. I flicked open a piece of paper I don't know if it's a paper cut or the small staple on the corner of the page. Thing that help cold wet cotton pads over the eye.sitting in the dark helps. Pain killers don't help at all 💯😎
I am on day 2 with a bad eye. It is painful, irritated, itchy, feels like there is something there, burning, and my vision keeps going blurry. I can't open it properly and light sensitivity. I asked my mum and sister to look at it and they can see a scratch on the actual eye. I gave been using loads of eye drops, flushing my eye, using a Icepack etc and none worked. Also eye patching it. I am going to ring the doctor tomorrow for an appointment. Xx

I was cutting my nails about 3 days ago and while I was cutting it a nail came flying to my eye and it landed on the nose part of the eye (the fleshy bit close to the nose). Got hit in the face with some ghillie synthetic string. Eye hurts like hell right now. This was 3 days ago I did this. Eye still hurts. I can see the damage near the brown part of my eye on the white, inward towards my nose. I can actually see the damage, looks kind of bumpy or something. Sorta like air bubbles but I can feel it with my eyelid. Since I can see it, I know nothing is lodged in my eye. With no insurance, I am really not wanting to go to the eye doctor. Everything is blurry but that's probably because my eye is watering like crazy.

this is by far one of the most tucked up things that would happen to you! it will make you want to throw a tantrum which will end up pissing you off more cuz you can't se where your throwing and you end up breaking your tv and then you start to cry and your really can't see at all....
No matter how I look at my left there's nothing in it. But I had rub it and afterwards it hurts like hell when blinking. Even if put my face in water it still hurts. I think I scratched my eye since my nails are long.

I desperately need help. Been dealing with symptoms for 8 years. There is no pain. It just feels like there’s something behind my top eyelid. It just feels like the veins or muscles in my left eye are full. It is absolutely maddening. The only time I feel relief is when I drink or when I’m too busy to think about it. I’ve seen so many eye doctors over it and zero answers. Hot compresses do nothing. It makes no sense that it’s only my left eye, because the doctors said moisture levels are the same. Does anyone else experience this?? Eye drop don’t help either.

Thank you for your explanation I had a foreign body and I felt better. I lost vision and saw halos on/off. I had trouble getting around. It was of great comfort. Looking forward to seeing properly.

I've had a abrasion 3 days ago but luckily now the pain is gone all is left is a foreign body sensation (sometimes) and a droopy eyelid. I used terramycin for my eyes and it help drastically heal the abrasions.

Hey, my eye has a pulsating pain wearing anything over it doesn't help. This pain feels extreme as well, I can actually feel the blood on the side of my head pulsate towards my eye. I take pain medication, and that usually works, but it happens every year. Is this any different to anyone elses pain?

I had Cataract surgery in December after having a Macular hole in the same eye repaired. I also have Fuchs disease. After the surgery for the Cataract my vision is still blurry and at certain times of the day my eye feels quite uncomfortable. My ophthalmologist told me I have mud cracks and moderate to severe (not sure of the spelling) but it is related to the Fuchs. Now that the Cataract surgery is complete I have 1 last appt with the Retina specialist. My question to you is should I find a cornea specialist? The ophthalmologist put me on Ilevro, anti-inflammatory drops and told me to go back in 1 month. Thank you, Patricia
Hi I am wondering have there been improvements and new advancements on corneal transplants? I've had corneal transplants on each eye in 98/99 I have kariconis and when I had the surgerys it left my vision 80%blind it left my corneas misshapen so I can't wear contacts nor glasses which would be to thick to even walk correctly.im just wondering if there has been advancement in this genetic defect and if I could be repaired in the near future. I have just started to wear lens and early today, I tried to wear lens onto the left eye and then it was burning but then took off the lens and then wore it again, then I removed it. After a while the pain is gone but I start to feel like there's something in the eye. I think it's corneal abberation or something, but it does not throb tho, it just feels like there is something in the eye. What should I do, what is it? Please help asap

Of course it's normal, unless your eye is really red from over bloodflow, but I think you have pink eye PLEASE see a doctor u will get drops, and no pain at all, just itchiness

i scratched my eye very hard until it went red and puffy. it happens to me sometimes. i'll do a cold compress on my eye so it will eventually lessen the puffiness of the eye.Then i'll just wait till the redness will be gone.Idk,this is how i do it and it works for me.take a time out from your gadget also it will hurt your eye more
This just happened to me yesterday! Debris of sawdust and dirt came in contact with my eye. Foolishly I kept rubbing it while flushing at the same time which I’m told made matters worse. Now I’m on an antibiotic eye drop ointment for 10 days 3 times a day. It sucks and is interfering with my sleep. My eye is no longer red and inflamed. However, I feel discomfort/stinging near the corner tear duct. I’d wake up several times during the night with crust build up on my eye lashes. Can’t wait for this to pass.

I am an electrician and I pulled an extension cord that was Tangled out of my van and the end of it hit me right in the eye. immediately it started watering and I felt a lot of pain but visually you can see nothing at all as far as damage or scratching. it's been watering now for 10 hours with mild pain that comes and goes. Hello Im Andrew Slevinski, im 19. 2 Days ago i got a piece of dirt or a small pebble in my eye. It was stuck under my upper eyelid for a few hours. Finally i had a neighbor use a damp Q tip to extract the object. My eye was swollen and irrtated however i had no blurry vision, and my tear ducks still worked. My eye is now white again and blinking is alot easier. Is there anything saftey tips you can mention? I visited no hospital due to no insurance. Any tips? Thank you. - Andrew

So today at school we were playing basketball, when I went to go get the rebound, I somehow managed to get my thumb go straight into my right eye extremely fast. I felt dizzy at first, then lightheaded. It was blurry for a while and turned super red. It still hurts a bit when I move my eye around.
