Excellent work. India has a huge startup economy right now, with simply a hundred unicorns being valued nearly equal to the GDP of Pakistan. Not to berate on Pakistan , but this is an exceptionally large part amount of money, and there is absolutely nothing that I have heard about these businesses in a lucid manner in the popular media of India. Very little content will even come out in the Digital News market of India, unless you pour over the bulky markets focused newspapers. We need information like this that can explain to us in simple terms various topics like ====> 1. What these startups are (their sector and idea), 2. What their business models are, 3. Are they profitable, 4. How they are planning to pay back investors, 5. What regulatory concerns might exist 6. Any relevant judicial, administrative, or executive proceedings that affect their running, 7. Their IPO's if they exist and how the stock has been performing 8. Ownership - How much is foreign 9. Tie ups with other businesses and acquisitions This kind of content in a streamlined manner will greatly educate the Indian people about companies which might grow to produce some of the global behemoths of tomorrow. It is also greatly inspiring for students to see that you don't have to only be coder, or of a specific background to open a successful startup. Thank you for doing this and I hope you continue. You don't look like you're native to India and I'm guessing that your citizenship is not Indian (I might be wrong there). But it doesn't matter. This is a great service to the Indian people. And indeed the world.

I’d be careful when comparing GDP with company valuations. It is not like for like. If we compare annual revenues with annual GDP, then we are getting somewhere. For instance, Walmart has a annual revenue of some USD 500 billion, which is equal to the annual GDP of Pakistan plus Sri Lanka plus Nepal plus Myanmar and a few others.

Could you please make a video on upcoming tech hubs outside Tier 1 cities in India? Places with good concentration of higher education institutions with engineering focus tend to be ideally placed for hosting startups. Mangaluru, Kovai, Erode, Pune, Madurai, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Varanasi, Guwahati etc come to mind.
How about startups from less “famous” maybe states like Jharkhand, west India etc.. in one video because this will initiate the real problem solving spirit in viewers.

Hi Pravin, we don't consider Zoho a startup, no. It was founded in the '90s, so it's a bit too old to qualify. Publicly traded means that a company is listed on the stock market - normal people like you and me can buy stock in those companies. Private companies are the opposite - they are not on the stock market, so you cannot buy stock in those companies unless you get permission as an angel investor or as a VC. -Caleb
Surprisingly, air pollution is noticeably better in Bengaluru as compared to NCR. But with regards to weather I was specifically talking about sun/rain/temperature. I hated the very cold winters in NCR and very hot summers too. Bengaluru is way more mild, and lots of rain during monsoon to wash away dust and pollution. -Caleb

Sure Ramanpreet, I can help 🙂 valuation is basically the value or worth of a company. The reason valuation is so important is because investors giving their money to own a percentage of the company. So they need to know how much their investment is worth. So if the startup is valued at $1M (₹7.6 crore), and an investor wants to own 10% of that company, then he will invest $100M (₹76 lakh), because his investment is 1/10th of the valuation. We only usually get to know the valuation of a private company when they raise funds from investors - if a startup does not raise funds from investors, or if they raise an undisclosed amount of money, or if they try to keep their valuation private, then we do not get to know about it. -Caleb
