Your not limited to just turkish variety people. My hookah friends use all sorts ot different coffees just make sure to use whole bean if you can and grind it up espresso grade not quite powder. A good grinder is essential freshest is best. Her method 🤌 exactly what they do and btw they use the aluminum and bang it when mixing mostly so you dont need wooden sticks as real copper can flake off. Like she said dont touch it after your mix let it foam its key.
When you really think of it: copper one is indeed intended to sink in hot sand - for even heat distribution. Which won`t happen on stove heating just the base. It seems like cast iron cezve is best option for a cooktop lmao.

The best of the best in Istanbul, is from Kurukahveci Mehmet Efendi but they don’t send abroad. I also tried this morning Gourmeturca’s brand and was really good, too! They do ship abroad, you can check their website.

This is not the place to spend Christmas really :) Maaaaybe just a few touristic restaurants might offer special Christmas dinners, but that might be it.
Hi! In fact it does, just don’t drink the whole cup, as soon as you feel the coffee grounds you can leave it there, in case that you feel them in your mouth or teeth, then you can drink water, that’s why it’s always served with water to clean your mouth afterwards 🎉🎉
@@BeryIstanbulTips LOL, you have made my day! I make a pot of percolated Arabica coffee every morning and we often get dregs at the bottom of the cup. But, it is usually about half a teaspoon-full and the grounds are heavier than the coffee so it's easy to avoid a mouthful when you get near the end of the cup. We buy pre-ground coffee so there is an issue with the grind size versus the basket holes in the percolator basket. You also inadvertently answered something that has puzzled me for years. I've always seen Italian Esspresso, Turkish, and other coffees served with a glass of water. I always thought this was to dilute the caffeine to avoid the rush! Now I know the real reason. I know for sure that Karaköy Gulluoglu has gluten-free baklava, plus is the best baklava in Istanbul. And yeah! You can for sure find places serving such foods it might be a bit difficult but not impossible, just make sure to ask the waiters before you order anything if they have options for you and stress that it is because of your health condition because maybe just to sell something they can even say yeah yeah all is gluten free, so make sure to stress out about your condition 🙏
