16:50 my jaw just dropped when Jackie said she had to drop out of the class when it became about preaching. So many women have the gift of preaching but need more instruction and guidance to grow that gift but they can’t get that from seminary?! Woow
I love reformed theology AND seeing it be preached through someone young and vibrant! All the other reformed preachers are getting very old, we need a new generation to keep it going!
"If obedience cost Jesus Christ His life, then surely it's gonna cost you something in life",.. it's so easy to Judge Jonah but, obedience and submission to God isn't easy. The cost of dying to self in a word that promotes comfort in all it's forms is easier said than done. But, May the Lord God give us the grace to be obedient to him, no matter the cost.
I’ve learned Homiletics by attending Bible Study Fellowship over the last 12 years. It is a mini seminary because you go through one book of the Bible in 9 months. It helps me to teach text to kids. It is an international organization that studies God’s word in depth.
I love Jackie and the insight she offers concerning God and holiness but baby, that dewy makeup with a matte spray…LIFE. I thought I was the only one on that combination. She really is my spirit animal 😂
I really like this. I was honestly feeling sad going home from work, which was a little stressful because I feel that I don't know what I'm doing or if what I'm doing is even right. I am glad I chose to listen to this podcast. I want to read one of Jackie's books.😊
I love your humility Jackie Hill Perry, to say you’d be willing to say no to some the engagements, but being careful as you move in the name of God. That’s huge, the cost and the fact that it weighs on you. I pray God works in you and both to will of his good pleasure in your life. Stay humble that’s how God exhausts us.
*Lord Jesus, I ask for Your blessing on those struggling at work. May they find joy and fulfillment in their tasks, see their efforts bear fruit, and feel Your guiding hand in every decision and action.Amen 🙏 🙌 ❤*
This interview has blessed me and answered secret prayers. I was literally just having a conversation with God about Christian Fiction and some of the issues in the genre as well as lol list😂😂. I can't thank God enough for the way He just shows up on time and leads to His direction. I have NEVER even heard of this podcast 😂😂 but there it was such a blessing. Thank you for your obedience and faithfulness to God and His Word. ❤❤❤
Loved this episode and as a fellow BB fan I really loved that convo! Thank you for sharing your message on being a woman of integrity and that it does come with a cost! But that cost is worth it.
NEW subbie! Both of you are filled with Godly wisdom! Thank you for using your platforms forHis glory!! I am truly humbled and taking notes. Se’lah, my sisters🫶🏾
Speaking to the woman in the room bothers me when people don’t consider how much Job’s wife has gone through some stuff too. She just gets put down in most teachings and sermons.
I agree, she gets blasted but they don’t stop to think that SHE also lost all her children and everything else Job lost. The only pastor I remember speaking gently about her was pastor Tim Keller.
Understand but it is critical to be mindful of advice given during those time. She told her husband to curse God and die. She was speaking out of her emotions of the pain of losing every thing. Remember Satan said to God if you take the hedge of protection from around him he can make Job curse God. What did Job's wife say curse God and die. That was the spirit of Satan speaking through Job's wife. I do agree about grace need to be given because she suffered too.
@@josettewebster4844 Emotions are real however but real. She has lost a lot and perhaps angry at God. I am not saying she was correct but just to understand that she is hurting. Wrong perhaps, but hurting still. If we could truly put ourself in her place, I believe it would not be as easy to take a “I would never” say such a thing. And it is the grace aspect as you and I said, I am going for. I am sure when/if she asked God for forgiveness, He put it in the sea of forgetfulness.
@@paulahenderson9878 I Agee. It just reminds me of moments where I gave the wrong advice when I was angry with God. I've seen myself in Job's wife as well and needed grace.
I think it’s maybe Dane Ortlund? Jackie referred to his book “Gentle and Lowly “. But she also mentioned a woman named Jenna but no last name or book title.
Well I will say this, no amount of prosperity is worth what you already have. Your crown in heaven will be larger than the richest person alive today. Faithfulness to Jesus Christ is the end all be all and from where I sit I see faithfulness every time I hear you speak. Not because I know you, but because you are someone that the Holy Spirit encamps and all who really belong to God can see Him in the way you express your love for Him. My grandmother lived to be 107. She wasn’t a wealthy person but she had a relationship with the Father like no one I’ve ever known. God provided for her up until her last day. She never went to a nursing home, was always clean, fresh and fed by her daughter and others that would help. But that was God’s promise to her. If we live for him no matter how much money we don’t have it will not matter cause He will provide every need we will ever have. So keep doing what you do and know if He has to send the Ravens to feed you, you will never be hungry. I pray for these teachers that are preaching a false doctrine because so many ppl are hurt by these msg’s. God bless you Jackie and thank you too!
But if you don’t continue seeking Him, you can become fleshly fed. And you find praying and coming to Him gets a bit harder. So the chasing has to be there.
The black women question threw me off. If the host was intrigued it would seem she would have expounded more on the question like she did the other questions. Otherwise it seemed like a singled out point for the sake of singling it out.
This is not to be contentious, it is because I'm genuinely questioning and seeking to think about it. Why is there an expectation to say thank you when someone gives a compliment? Again, I'm not making any statements about it. That is just a question that is come up for me lately. Is it because we need validation that our compliment was received? Like genuinely wondering.
Not at all what I was looking for or expecting. If I wanted to hear a chat about make up I would not have clicked on this. And I’m sorry but it made me click it off. I guess I just feel like there’s enough of that kind of thing out there and way too much obsession on appearance.
@@danakirk1945 I understand. The convo wasn’t centered around makeup. It was more of an icebreaker for the meat of the conversation to happen. Starting with something light to get comfortable and then they go into the more important stuff. It’s okay to not be serious every moment of life. God isn’t upset if we choose conversations starters prior to getting into His word. Don’t be too critical when you don’t have to be. I hope you have and are having a wonderful weekend
I love how God uses Jackie

Being obedient comes with a cost. Just confirmed what I’ve felt for so many years in my marriage. Just Wow!!
Come on Jackie “The Cost” this is why I love you because you see the people and you see Jesus Christ and your passion for Him. ❤

In the name of God but in the pursuit of greed. A word in these days of prosperity preaching. I admire her openness to truth in the word of God 🙏🏾

This sounds like a book I need.
Please get it. I am not a devotional person either but this book flows like a conversation between Jackie and the reader.

C@jackiehillperry, I guessed it's time for you to open a seminary ❤
I am so stunned to hear that your level of studying was limited because you are a woman. 😮 Matthew, Mark, Luke, John… perspective, so good
Ok I’ll be back… bout to go do my makeup lol 😂 😂
OMG I've also notice her makeup on stage !!! I thought she had a makeup artist

Love Jackie Perry, but she DSN'T say thank you when being complimented why?? Not judging just observing
Yeah, I noticed too but I think it's just a temperament/personality thing. Otherwise she's really cool

@jenangel7267 To show gratitude for a kindness done for you or spoken to you.
You might eventually say something they don't like, they don't agree with. And then they would take you off the list or fire you. LOL
I’m so sorry but the chatting about makeup really turned me off.
