    So, guess who ordered an X3 just now using the link from his favourite videography vlogger? ;) Thanks for the free selfie stick TG! I held off as I knew my ancient MacBook Pro would not be able to keep up with editing such huge files, but my new MBP has just arrived (and I am now feeling VERY poor). I'll be revisiting this useful video I am sure. Another thing I will need to get the hang of is masking out the suction cup I'll be using to secure said selfie-stick to the car in FCPX... Will keep you posted how I get on.

      Ah you got your new MacBook, awesome. I bet the difference is night and day! I hope you enjoy the X3 and it works out better for you than the H11 did; such a shame about that.

    As much as I live my One X2, not being able to utilize 100% of the functions on the PC that are available on a phone is just stupid. I can't believe that Insta thinks we can do serious editing on a phone screen. This limitation irks me every time I use the PC app.
    2.53:1 does not export on my PC version, but does on the mobile version. Weird.
    This is one of the best tuts on the PC editor. Direct, straight to the point, and very clear. Thank you Tamara.

    Yes, that instant transition to make it look like you are using a multicamera setup is a favorite of mine too! Also, it helps to avoid the "hosing" or restless feel that reframed 360 videos often have - all that panning can make the viewer dizzy! Having checked that bit of your excellent video, I will now watch the rest...
    Oooh, sliders for clarity plus etc - I don't have those! Must try updating the app... Project management I've never needed to use but you illustrate the point well.

      Thanks, Peter! I hear you about the panning, it can be a bit much sometimes, so that instant transition is great.

    This is an amazing video tutorial for the first time. I like it a lot, yes indeed. So far I'm seeing the picture when making the changes and why. Let's see more edition tutorials and watch the ending results. Thumbs up Tamara, I am learning already with your simpler and clear teaching. Can you bring an episode on Action 3 editing? Cheers from Puerto Rico 😊

    This is great. Very clear and to the point. I’ve had my x3 for a week and have no clue about re framing etc. I have the mobile app and it’s too limited for me. I’m going to give the studio app a go. Thanks!

    Thanks so much for this explanation. Question, is there a way to post edit the video and remove me from the footage then still upload and show the file as 360 video in RUclips?

  • @wilswood8137

    Thank you, I’ve been struggling with editing since I bought my new x3.
    Can I ask, after you’ve reframed and added a key frame, does the camera just stay in that position until you reframe it again ?
    I’m using mine on a motorbike , and I find it drifts off in all directions 🤣😩🥴

    • @TamaraGabrielUK
      @TamaraGabrielUK  Год назад +1

      Yep, once you've added a keyframe the frame stays in place. You can also try out 'Direction Lock' in the desktop app as you can lock the camera onto yourself as the subject and then it will follow you.

    • @TamaraGabrielUK

      I’d imagine so. I don’t use Resolve but I believe it works the same whether you edit in Premiere Pro or FCPX.

    I'm disappointed that when I export a framed video its only in 1080p. I realize its 5.7k the for the whole 360 video but I would expect at least 2k for an export.

    Great video Tamara. I've had the X3 for a week or so now and have worked my way around most of the studio software. I wasn't aware of the "no transition" option in the keyframes, and will definitely use that.
    One thing I'm stuck on, though is reframing when you turn off flowstate in the studio software. I can't pan, it doesn't matter if I click and drag the image or put in a keyframe and adjust the controls in the popup window. So if I'm filming inside a vehicle, I'd probably want to switch off flowstate, but I can't then frame the footage how I want. Anybody else experience this? Or have a solution?
    The camera is definitely a great tool for filming single-handed and BTS and for shots that you just can't get otherwise. The quality of the image is acceptable, although I look forward to the time when we can have much better sensors with much better dynamic range and enough resolution to crop and still have a 4k image! That won't happen for some time, though, lol
    P.S. Filmconvert need to make a profile for the x3 - I've put a request in, would make it a bit easier to blend in that footage with my other cameras.

    • @TamaraGabrielUK
      @TamaraGabrielUK  Год назад

      I’ve not actually tried to reframe with stabilisation off, I’ll try though and see what might be happening. A camera profile for the X3 would be great in CineMatch, something to keep an eye out for.
