Pricing out a x670 mobo memory and cpu block and the 7950X I am going to be pushing 2k. Add in the 7900XTX now it becomes 3k for an upgrade. SO it looks like the 5950x will stay at least for a few more years.
11:11 Em... just a heads up but you would need a new x650, x650e, x670 or x670e motherboard if you wanted to move up to a 7950x cpu and DDR5 memory. AM5 is a completely different platform when it comes to the socket. It went from a PGA socket (pins on the CPU) to an LGA socket (pins on the motherboard). I just went from a 5900x, Asus Crosshair Dark Hero MB and 64gb DDR4 3600 to a 7950x, Asus x670e Crosshair Extreme MBand 64gb DDR5 6000mt/s. I'm reusing my 3090ti for now. It's a beast of a chip should last me for some time. Everything is cooled with a EK custom loop. Love their products, especially their new Velocity2 AM5 block.
that's an awesome PC. Next year I'm hoping to build my own PC, my current rig is a Alienware R14 that I financed. I normally would have built my own but I wanted to upgrade my PC back when GPU prices were sky high so it ended up cheaper getting a prebuilt.
