Have suffered with a condition for approximately 24 years. Doctors can't find a answer or don't care to help. I get extreme fatigue and will sleep after eating usually lunch and supper. Sometimes, your blood test might seem normal but it's actually your thyroid find a good endocrino, you can find more info in the r/hashimoto's community in reddit
Did your doctor include thyroid anti body tests in blood screening as well? These are indicator even if body had issues with Thyroid due to auto-immune disorder in the past.
@@ahmedshinwari no my doctor didn't have me take any other types of testing. The last I talked to him, he said he thinks it's carbohydrates causing it, and wanted me to do the Keto diet.
Well I can tell you that cold water swimming (open water swimming) can cure subclinical hypothyroidism. The water doesn't have to be super cold 15-16c or 60f is fine.I've been doing that and I feel great.
I thought I was hyperthyroidism because my fast heart rate, rapid weight loss, diarrhea, and anxiety. Turns out I’m hashimoto hypothyroidism with a tsh of 12. So confusing
Don't just buy what doctors sell...for some Thyroid patients the hormone levels swing from under-active Thyroid to over-active Thyroid. Fast heart rate (with palpitation) is not sign of HypoThyroiditis but HyperThyroiditis. However, like I said, they swing too. So, do check your levels frequently (every 2 months). Also, check your Vitamin D levels too. For some reason, when Thyroid is damaged body begins to consume a lot of Vitamin D and produce greater amount of bad cholesterol.
@@ahmedshinwari I was told I have generalized anxiety disorder which may cause the anxiety/fast heart rate. I’m cutting out all dairy/gluten/processed foods to cut down the inflammation in my body and to get my gut biome back to normal and taking my vitamins. I've had this for a few years now, had tsh of about 24 before I started my medication. Been feeling good until a couple weeks ago so I'm going to get checked to see if I need to up the dose 😕
Thanks for your fantastic demonstration. Just so that you know, there is another cause. My previous GP kept increasing my prescription for opiates (for the pain from my damaged spine) and somehow that has caused my thyroid to stop working... along with other issues; damage to my liver and kidneys. I can't seem to find any information about this type of cause anywhere and I would love to understand it better. Anyway, thanks again xx
My age (as in 2020): 21 My height: 5'5 (165 cm) My weight: 52 kg (114 lbs) My measurements: 36-25-34 And I have a little bit under active thyroid but idk how I m losing day by day.... eventhough it showed hypo in my reports.
I was born without a thyroid and have taken medication once a day since I was a few weeks old. I came here for casual research but I don’t think this is for my case specifically but it’s a great , informative video though.
Well, I think what happens is that the levels swing from one extreme to the other. It depends whether you are on medication, or if your Thyroid is enlarging in which case it will be able to produce sufficient or more of T3/T4. So, the swing in the symptoms is real, however, doctors do not understand or acknowledge this.
In my country, classes are still online, INCLUDING medical schools. Our professors have been way too comfortable with not even providing a video lecture and straight up just telling us to read Harrison's Principles of internal Medicine plus other sources, which is pretty difficult to read to be honest. I understood more here in 5 minutes compared to an hour on this chapter in that damn book.
So this is the thing that made me do medical checkup on my left knee, and stomach and I am bad in sports, easily tired during exercise, losing hair in head, muscle pain frequently, anxiety, depression, a rough voice, bad throat, etc. ...

I had major problems breathing even with cpap. Feeling like breathing through a straw, even when standing up. I took my doc meds to make T4 (levothyroxine) a little bit at a time. Swelling went down over a few days. I started taking a iodine supplement too. Very very scary not being able to breathe.
autoimmune hashimotos -( low thyroid) is most often caused by (Blastocystis hominis was isolated through a stool microbiologic examination, implicating that this parasite can cause the development of Hashimoto's thyroiditis and chronic urticaria ) and can be cured with ivermectin high dose
My daughter is Autistic, and has large bald tonsure. She is over weight with odeama of the whole legs. Different doctors are not picking up on the problem. Witch I see as Hashimoto Thyroiditis and Àdrenal Fàtigue
Great video, very helpful. But wouldn't taking levothyroxine just mask the fundamental fault? Or by taking the synthetic version of T4 will the body start to correct itself and be able to produce the right amount of hormones if the drug was stopped? I guess my question is will levothyroxine fix the overall issue or just mask it?
The auto immune part of the disease is not curable. It is a lifelong, chronic illness. The meds step in to give your body what your thyroid can no longer provide due to it being mistakenly attacked by your immune system.
I haven’t taken my thyroid medication for hypothyroidism is like 5 years but when I do I only take a 1-2 times a week does this put me at a higher risk of being put in a coma and does this stunt my physical development / growth I’m only 16
It would be wise to frequently check your Thyroid related hormones (TSH, T3, T4) and Thyroid anti bodies even when you are not taking Thyroid medicine. If you had HypoThyroidism due to Hashimoto (auto immune disorder) then what can happen sometimes (if you not taking medicine) your *Thyroid gland* can grow on its own, in which case your Thyroid hormones (TSH, T3 & T4) will become normalized. However, this does not mean you will not have HypoThyroid symptoms still. So, sorry, I can't tell you that it is best to not take medicine. I have done the same, I have not taken medicine (external source for hormone) and I am OK (but not great).
Why noone asking themselves what actually triggers this? as if you remove the trigger - you sort the problem, not managing this with synthetic hormones and carrying on living as before?
Sometimes the production of certain hormones and proteins in the body is genetically linked. I'm not sure if this is the case, but for many conditions, you can't simply just remove the trigger
I am hypothyroid and recently diagnosed with hashi's. I have been noticing my heart has been skipping/fluttering and chest pain, been getting lots of shortness of breath along with other symptoms. Does anyone that has this condition also experience the heart symptoms or shortness of breath?
Yess . I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 3 weeks ago . I had horrible chest pain and shortness of breath so bad that I thought I was going to die from lack of oxygen. I went to the ER twice to get oxygen which didn’t really help . Until I did some blood tests and I was diagnosed. I started taking the medication but the symptoms didn’t lessen till 5 days ago .
I have hashimotos too. I’m on synthroid for years but my blood tests finally became stable about 6 months ago (I get blood tests every month because of this disease). I’ve been having the same thing lately: trouble breathing, chest pain and severe anxiety at night feeling like I’m going to die. I recently found out my TSH blood levels are below normal, so I might be getting my meds lowered. I just feel physically horrible and have that frog feeling in my throat, can’t swallow. I pray you’re doing better than me❤️🩹
I have hypothyroidism,i have tried multiple medication, but non worked for me,until I came across Dr Obinyan on RUclips, he cured me permanently from hypothyroidism, I am forever grateful to him...🙏🙏
DarkeCrimson hello. How are you? We were wondering how are you treating hypothyroidism? Hope you are not just relying on medications which in the long run are not very beneficial. Unfortunately, thyroid problems affect your body 360 degree so it is important that you are well prepared about this condition so you know how to tackle it. Good luck and if you have some doubts we are happy to help you. 🙂
If you have hashimot's, you can not rely too much on levothyroxine to control your elevated TSH and to regulate your thyroid hormone T4 and T3. Low thyroid production is due to thyroid inflammation because of constant elevated anti TPO and anti Tg (these are your blood marker of autoimmune disease of thyroid). So my advice is get blood work which will include anti TPO and Anti Tg. Include also hsCRP (marker of overall inflammation of your body). Please add: vitamin D and B12 difficiency test. The above blood test is important in reversing hashimoto's autoimmnune disease. Fix your leaky gut: supplement it with probiotic plus L glutamine (3 to 6grams) taken on an empty stomach in the morning. Avoid: gluten, dairy, soy products Eat only whole foods. Avoid all processed foods and junk foods Practise intermittent fasting (eat 2 meals a day only on 16/8 (16 fast and 8 hours eating windows)
I have never wanted to scream at a video more than this one! Why? Because the information on how to test for hypothyroidism & Hashimotos is DATED!!! I was misdiagnosed for a decade all due to my TSH being tested. It always came back "within normal range". Guess what? I ended up with thyroid cancer! What is my point? Start running a full freaking thyroid panel and stop depending on just the TSH. Levithyroxine alone won't get you better. Combining it with T3 will in my experience. Your best bet is to see functional med doctor not an Endo.. Endo's just do not have enough knowledge about the thyroid IMO and experience. They will keep you sick on T4 alone. SMH It's 2022 do better!
I've stopped feeling better on levothyroxine. Been on the same dosage of 50 micrograms since 2016 and I feel like crap. Guess I'm going to have to ask about T3.

Sometimes, your blood test might seem normal but it's actually your thyroid find a good endocrino, you can find more info in the r/hashimoto's community in reddit
Same had several tests done and all normal range. Had one year where it was abnormal but it got corrected next test. Abnormal levels of fatigue...
Thank you so much 😊😊 This is really helping me with my Medical Biochemistry unit this semester
Isn't hypothyroidism more likely to cause menorrhagia as opposed to amenorrhoea?
Well I can tell you that cold water swimming (open water swimming) can cure subclinical hypothyroidism. The water doesn't have to be super cold 15-16c or 60f is fine.I've been doing that and I feel great.
Bruh, what??? No.
I’ve had these symptoms for years and a swollen lymph node so I asked for my blood to be checked and everything is normal except my thyroid and white blood cell count is 3300 and I’m an active 27 year old Caucasian male
I also had the same symptoms as yours but I was also diagnosed with hypothyroidism yeah it's confusing
I have hyperthyroidism but I gained a lot of weight
Same here Zach!
Glad the video was helpful
Even my thyroid was triggered by Accutane for Acne
Great channel... Great explanation! Thank you so much!
My age (as in 2020): 21
My height: 5'5 (165 cm)
My weight: 52 kg (114 lbs)
My measurements: 36-25-34
And I have a little bit under active thyroid but idk how I m losing day by day.... eventhough it showed hypo in my reports.
alankrita mishra you’d gain weight with hypothyroidism
Same problem have you got the solution?
I was born without a thyroid and have taken medication once a day since I was a few weeks old. I came here for casual research but I don’t think this is for my case specifically but it’s a great , informative video though.
In your case you need T3 and the best is probably dissecated thyroid since it's as close to having a thyroid you can get
Wow now I got all my doubts solved and the doctors didn’t mention.
Great video which is to the point and certainly helped me prepare for my exam. Keep up the good workTom.
Thanks Kuda! Keep up the hard work for those exams
This was very helpful. I hv a better understanding of hypothyroidism
Thank you VERY much! I've been diagnosed with hypothyroidism years ago.

Just found out that I have subclinical hypothyroidism plus pcos. It's hard to take it all in my mind... 😔
Same here 💖
Same
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism but i have all the symptoms for Hyperthyroidism
Hello...Informative and easy to understand... Im SHO of family medicine...Thank you
In my country, classes are still online, INCLUDING medical schools. Our professors have been way too comfortable with not even providing a video lecture and straight up just telling us to read Harrison's Principles of internal Medicine plus other sources, which is pretty difficult to read to be honest. I understood more here in 5 minutes compared to an hour on this chapter in that damn book.
It doesn't need to be that difficult!
@@ZeroToFinals I should be giving my tuition to youtube channels like yours, man haha
@@bboyggez haha just glad to help!
So what about the inflammation? Isn't it the cause that we should do something about?
Yes! inflammation is a big part of autoimmune disease....can be elevated with increased sugar, bad fats and toxins
Serious Complications are
Myxedema crisis ( Hypnatrmia, hypothermia, hypotension, hypoglycemia, hypoventillation, hypoxemia)
myxedema Coma
Myxedema Madness
Myxedema Heart

@@poetryneverends1730 Its incredibly sad because before i had this disease, i thought i can actually conquer life easily. I was always at the top of my class, have tons of energy to socialize and do vigorous workouts. I honestly felt like i was gifted since i can memorize things easily and do well in almost every aspect in my life. Once the disease hits me, everything fell down. And thats why i consistently have suicidal thoughts :(
@@fishcrabs7898 Welp... I think I am also going that way...
Memorising exam things before 2 years was pretty easy.

Idk if I will conquer my hobbies...

I have an appointment on tuesday to get diagnosed, I’m genuinely so miserable because of the weakness and fatigue that comes with it
IT WAS VERY HELPFUL THANK YOU SO MUCH.
What does it mean when TSH is super high T4 is within range (upper range) but T3 is super low.. I can’t find any info on this at all..
Just found out I have this Yee haw 🥴
same same 🤩
Me too...😔
Me too
I had major problems breathing even with cpap. Feeling like breathing through a straw, even when standing up. I took my doc meds to make T4 (levothyroxine) a little bit at a time. Swelling went down over a few days. I started taking a iodine supplement too. Very very scary not being able to breathe.
Well i ahev had this for like years :( and i anve lots of medicine and now its getting worse
Thanks for the video! I have probable hypothyroidism and am feeling really crappy. Waiting on test results.

What about t3 t4 combo in medication. I seem to respond better with this.

autoimmune hashimotos -( low thyroid) is most often caused by (Blastocystis hominis was isolated through a stool microbiologic examination, implicating that this parasite can cause the development of Hashimoto's thyroiditis and chronic urticaria ) and can be cured with ivermectin high dose
I just wanna ask , one can not get pregnant if she is suffering from this thnku
How is hashimotos diagnosed? Checking for other autoimmune disorders like Celiac disease?
My daughter is Autistic, and has large bald tonsure. She is over weight with odeama of the whole legs. Different doctors are not picking up on the problem. Witch I see as Hashimoto Thyroiditis and Àdrenal Fàtigue
Thanks for the video.. It helped a lot..!
Thanks for good lecture 👊🏽👊🏽
Great presentation
Very well explained. Thank you.
I believe that it just gives you the hormones your not getting. So if you stop taking medication you will still have the symptoms you had previously
hypothyroidism treatment is lifetime!
The auto immune part of the disease is not curable. It is a lifelong, chronic illness. The meds step in to give your body what your thyroid can no longer provide due to it being mistakenly attacked by your immune system.
Good question. Sometimes you can find the underlying issues and stop medication!
Thank you doctor isibor
@@raghadjm2722 sorry to hear. May i ask what medication did they prescribe you and is it helping you?
I have hashimotos too. I’m on synthroid for years but my blood tests finally became stable about 6 months ago (I get blood tests every month because of this disease). I’ve been having the same thing lately: trouble breathing, chest pain and severe anxiety at night feeling like I’m going to die. I recently found out my TSH blood levels are below normal, so I might be getting my meds lowered. I just feel physically horrible and have that frog feeling in my throat, can’t swallow. I pray you’re doing better than me❤️🩹
@@nmc9929 for hypothyroidism or hashimotos it will be levothyroxine or synthroid for medication.

Avoid: gluten, dairy, soy products
Eat only whole foods. Avoid all processed foods and junk foods
Practise intermittent fasting (eat 2 meals a day only on 16/8 (16 fast and 8 hours eating windows)
So not an endo but a what doctor?
I don't understand this comment but I appreciate it because if it does line up with other symptoms I can show this to a doctor
Sorry to hear that ! Hope u heal ! Is there way to prevent cancer?
I don't feel better on levothyroxine
I've stopped feeling better on levothyroxine. Been on the same dosage of 50 micrograms since 2016 and I feel like crap. Guess I'm going to have to ask about T3.
