The Titan America Cement plant used to be a Maule Industries cement plant which had largest kiln in the country. A bit of trivia, it was owned by the family of Mayor Maurice A. Ferré, mayor of Miami.
Awesome...didn't know that branch existed!! I never railfanned FEC that far down. I would love to though! I usually railfan around Port Orange, New Smyrna Beach and Daytona. thumbs up man!!
We used to have our own yard engine back in the 60s, 70s, and 80s when I was at the General Portland Cement plant on Krome Avenue south of Tamiami Trail. We were eventually bought out by Lafarge which ended up closing the plant along with several others around the country.
Great Job Tolga, another winner!
Thank you as always!

Thanks! Yes, the FEC gets all this rock from the quarries in northwest Dade through this five mile pipeline.
Never knew Cemex had its own railroad presence, let alone ran a GP9! That's awesome! Great catches!
Thanks! Yes, they not only have power here, they have a GEVO in Schertz, TX

What I have to ask, is the rail laid so long ago, that is still there, able to handle the weight of the newer locomotive s?
How often does the 661 go up to the interchange? And at what times?
💯💯💯
Are they union and do they get railroad retirment? Just asking just in case i wanna move down there
I do not know.
Yes to both, represented by SMART-TD.
