I want a railroad in my backyard! I'm guessing that they have to shove the cars down the spur when they're delivering them, looks like the water plant has a two track unloading rack for the chlorine cars. And my only guess on their approach to the main is that the rock train was on the north track, it looks double track through there where the spur connects back to the main. Nothing like the chase!

Funny thing is most people that live in Miami think this line is abandoned (I did too when I was younger) because most people have never seen a train here! It runs every 2-3 weeks on demand.
Bro when does the train pass do you know the specific dates nice video really interesting i thought the lines were dead now i know I can’t park on those lines
That appears to be a north-south industrial spur with one customer, the WASD Preston Water Treatment Plant located at 1100 W. 2nd Avenue, in the city of Hialeah. This line appears to run between W. 2nd and W. 3rd Streets. The line appears to be about 3,287 feet from their service gate to the switch head at the FEC Main. The FRA data would suggest is is the FEC South Subdivision. The FRA crossing data is as follows; (crossing numbers in parentheses) W. 13th Street (272967X), W. 14th Street (272966R), W 15th Street (272965J), W. 16th Street (272954W), W. 17th Street (272952H), W. 18th Street (272951B), W. 19th Street (272950U), W. 20th Street (273009P), W. 21st Street (273008H) The switch head is located on the FEC South End Subdivision about 328 feet east of the east shoulder of Red Road (W. 4th Avenue) near the Hialeah Expressway and Sherwin Williams Paints 2195 W. 4th Avenue. This appears to be a double track main with the switch on the south track. The lead in on the switch suggest that the points are facing west, and it is a sweeping 90 degree turn from east to south.
Like I have always said, it was and still is railroads that make this country move. Ton for ton, it is still the cheapest game in town. That tanker they just pulled out of that water treatment plant, that can hold 100 tons of chlorine gas in liquid suspension. Compare that to a truck, that would be between three to four truckloads, meaning you would need to hire three to four drivers to haul the same amount of product. You take a 150 car intermodal all double stacked, that is 300 containers or 300 drivers you would have to hire to deliver the same amount of freight.
I would love to live in one of those houses by the tracks! I use to live by the tracks and I watched every train that came by. Awesome chase! You will almost always have at least one car get in your when during a chase. I call that " The One Car Rule". I have been on dirt roads with no houses around and right when I try to film a train a car pulls up in front and makes noise. lol. I looked this spur up on Google Maps. That is cool how it goes right through that neighborhood. Anyway, that was a cool chase on a rarely used spur!
Actually, I used to live in a similar area (though not as built up) - Indian Head, MD. La Plata, MD (which still has an active set of tracks) is similar. So such areas still exist, even in the eastern United States (and north of Florida).
LOL My thoughts exactly! It's scary how much we think alike, J. What every neighborhood aspires to, a big mushroom cloud!! Hope you're having a great weekend.
If the line connects to FEC, Tri Rail and Brightline, maybe the neighborhood could have a motorized streetcar operation (without wires) to take commuters to the station
This train only runs every 2-3 weeks. This Sunday is my 4 year RUclips anniversary and I'm posting my Best of Great moments video, which will be 55 minutes long; so get your popcorn ready!
The rails and ties need to be replaced so the trains that com through here don't derail and hopefully fix the crossing and remove the grass and debris off the train tracks
How would I like to live in one of those houses? No! It's in Florida which is too hot and humid in the summer. It gets bad a few weeks during the summer in upstate New York, but Florida is worse. It's hotter, more humid and lasts longer. As for having a railroad in my back yard, that would be great, but would probably get a little more boring over the years once I get acclimated to the same old freight passing by.
Rude cocky ego young twat conductor with the flag i bet he sits on the stick when no one is looking
And how did ya come to that conclusion? I didn't notice nothin' cocky or rude unless i'm blind
i never would have thought about that, amazing you were thinking that.
Hey Roli how recently did you get this video

You are quite welcome. Your articles and post are always enjoyable and informative. Thanks for making it fun too.
I’ve driven over this spur many times and was curious if it was active; now I know. Great video, thanks!
Yes sir, it runs on demand about every 2-3 weeks. Today at 11:30AM EST I debut a new series on my channel! Thanks as always for the support, Rob.
Awesome cool catch Roly! I never knew about this job. Great video my friend! Cheers, Danny

Great catch of the conductor getting out and flagging the crossings. Good job :-))
5:00 what train was blowing the horn
There was on the main, about 2 blocks North of here. Thanks as always for the views and comments!
Nice chase! It seems funny a train in a middle of a neighborhood.
Little kids be like "Hey mommy there's a train in our yard." lol
Excellent Find! I pass by that old spur every time I'm visiting family and I've never seen a train on it :(
We're gonna barricade ourselves in my house. We have metal shutters and everything, but we live near a canal. Hopefully it doesn't flood!
Rail Rol I'm glad you evacuated. I've never been to the keys before... But I live in Broward all is well for you and everyone else.
Nice video. Heck of a lot of work, 3 man crew, an engine and stopping at every crossing to move one tank car.
The 3rd man was a supervisor, testing a new guy.
I would love to live next to one of those ;D ~
great minds think alike!
Awesome video!!!! I could handle living that close to the tracks going between houses.
👍 absolutely awesome video
Thanks as always for the views and comments, Michael!

The train chaser, good job!
Would love to have that spur in my backyard. No horn needed when flagging the
crossings. Nice job!
TY so much!
good video and thoses are nice houses by the traks
Wow that train had a really pretty horn sad he only unveiled it right at the end there!

Ive.had.dreams of railroad tracks running thru my front yard and other unusual places.
awesome train video RailROL82
Nice catch! I wouldn't mind living near the tracks as long it was a safe neighborhood. Hope everyone came through Irma okay.
I would live in one of those any given day!
That car is from the chemical plant here in Freeport, Texas .
That's very interesting. Thanks as always for the views and comments!
Cool neighborhood
Cool Stuff man. Stay safe during the hurricane

What street is that on the first location
Love this my Mijo awesome catch . Please be careful and safe my friend . How often does trains come thru there?
Awsome video wounder how they get away with no crossbuck visible at some crossing though!!!!
RailROL82 Your welcome!!!!
Does it go to the West rail and 2 Hialeah yard. Or East Mainline.
Great video! 👍
Great chase, keep up the good work!
How many FEC units have back horns? On class I railroads that means its a former high hood.
Warring RailROL82 might need to get out of Fla soon because of hurricane irma that is 185 m.p.h. coming toward Fla ? /:(
No train horn? Damn and i was thinking of buying a home here.
12 times a year, not a lot at all!
This is a great catch, great video!
@@railrol82 No problem!
Nutritious delicious Chlorine! Yummy : ) Everybody in the city will be drinking that shortly.
RailROL82 it’s not that bad lol. Railfan/water Treatment plant operator here.
Why the locals must be absolutely thrilled their homes are so close to a railroad that tows cars with chlorine in them.
LOL My thoughts exactly! It's scary how much we think alike, J. What every neighborhood aspires to, a big mushroom cloud!! Hope you're having a great weekend.
I would totally have a house right next to it cause I can see it(even if I do) and doesn't come to often. 👍
Where does the train come from when going to water plant
If the line connects to FEC, Tri Rail and Brightline, maybe the neighborhood could have a motorized streetcar operation (without wires) to take commuters to the station
RailROL82 It could stop at every street
I have a question, why did they stop in each crosing
Thank you
You just hope that they isn't a chlorine leak!
Us railfans are so unlucky when chasing trains lol. Always a slowpoke, red lights, stop signs, etc.
I have the control point just south of my location. West mainline to East Mainline.
Have you been to California?
once
RailRol82 can u check out the end of line at Homestead,FL zip 33030 at
SW 2nd ave & SW 2nd St.
Stay safe during the hurricane.
Hey buddy, i hope you have a good home or refuge! Irma looks like a really bad one.
RailROL82 Keep posting as long as you can, but be safe.
Again, please be safe during this Hurricane Irma 😕

@@railrol82 yep
Flagman!
If they didn't have to fluoridate the water they'd probably not have to run the train.
metatech it’s not fluoride it’s chlorine
Oh noooooo.......another earthquake shot

This is called the Downtown Job, not the water Plant Job.
Do you or did you work for FEC ?
Yes i would
Be careful out there///
Otherwise it's double tracked all of the way through to Lake Park.
No thanks I like it up here behind the tracks in Hypoluxo.
