55:17 when all you need is 4 damage and you have a 1/1 flyer and hive, but decide to activate hall and bring disruptor from the bin to tap ghast. Lol lethal is lethal, but you took the long road.

@@user-jv4ll5og7j You can't crew vehicles with themselves anymore. You can use a vehicle to crew another vehicle and that vehicle to crew the first one, but you can't use one to crew itself because of a rules update with Kamigawa Neon Dynasty.
I've been playing a UW version of this deck with ingenious smith instead of the blade of the oni. It's really good with the chip and also can put big pressure on the opponent as a pseudo-automaton. Also I get acess to portable hole, maul of the skyclaves, and absence.
Virus Beetle in Constructed is hilarious enough that that seems like a must. Bank Buster suggestion also seems strong, alongside maybe another reality chip - blocks well and when reconfigured can take over the game.
Oni blade is just way better than beetle though? A 3/1 with combat evasion that can reconfigure to give another creature combat evasion and give itself removal evasion, especially since beetle lets your opponent pick the discard and it can’t crew core
For Blade of the Oni replacement, there are not a lot of options in the two drop slot. You really want a creature so you can have something to put a counter on from Iron Apprentice or Ninjutsu Covert Technician. The only two that might work are Containment Construct and Virus Beetle. Containment Construct would actually let you play cards you discard to Tezzeret, and he has two power so he can crew the Mechtitan Core by himself.
I think either of those are good options! Armguard Familiar might be a nice option as well. It can crew Mechtitan, ward 2 is significant, as well as the ability to reconfigure it onto something else (cheaply if you have Tezzeret out). Weakness is that it dies to Meathook pretty easily, but so do the cards you mentioned as well.
Once you cut the Blade of the Oni you can make the case that you might as well cut black all together and pivot to another color, probably white or red instead. All that’s left in black after Oni is the 1x grasp, 1xpower, and the agadeems with is tough to cast with the BBB casting cost.
now this was interesting! Love the deck, it has some legacy vibes to it and i already drafted some cores, tezzis and even oni-blades. will definitely try this out :D
Nice to see an original deck, I dont think this deck can beat any kind of white + anything control (march/farewell) but should be pretty fun and rewarding overall against other aggro/beat down decks (monowhite/monogreen)
The Neon dynasty set feels to me like a subtle homage to yugioh, a japanese tcg. Blue promo style ninjas look kinda like link monsters, this "megazord" looks like xyz with materials underneath it, and its summoning animation reminds me a lot of ritual summon. Oh, I almost forgot - great video as always.
hey CGB! watched yesterday's video today. I'm watching to see how you navigate the meta and to learn card interactions I might have missed. Also, to learn *how* to think when playing certain opponents. It's cool to watch you pilot these decks and win, but it's also cool to watch you pilot these decks and lose.
@@tjloefflerjaetem the shuffler not giving me any chance, takes me to long to get the deck going, mono white is to fast or enchantment/runes gets me with the counters/lifelink/trample or I play against a deck the removes everything from me the first 3-4 turns... the deck looks so fun, but I think it needs some pices to make it better...(btw. I can confirm that mythic is more fun to play because people are playin other decks and not only the top 2-3 decks of the meta..platinum and diamond you only find sweats trying to level up)
I'm guessing it's like a lot of decks in that they can be good based on the meta where you are in ranked. A deck is like a tool in a toolbox. Use the right one for the job.
Izzet Tezzeret was one of the first decks I tried out when NEO dropped. Combo Jin Getaxis with Kosmos Elixir is enough to get people to scoop and Tezzeret can turn a skyclave cave into an indestructible 4/4. I also used Reality Chip and a lot of people scooped when I cast a counter spell from the top of my library lol
Well I love ya CGB but I'm gonna be that guy this time. Built this deck (already had the cards) and lost ten in a row because my opponents immediately removed every threat and then I died with no reality chip and no tezz for the reload turns. Gonna rewatch to see if there's something I've missed in piloting but my God that was an awful experience and I love these types of decks
This deck looks great! 55:23 couldn't you have just attacked with the 1/1 flyer and powered up Hive for 4 damage? I mean, the way you did it was probably cooler, I guess. But am I crazy?

I feel like black has the better removal, but the quickest way I've found to proc the Mechtitan is Izzet. Turn 2 Mechanaut. Turn 3 Mindlink Mech. Crew the Mechanaut and dump your hand of everything colorless that costs 2 or less... If you run the Automated Artificer, you can flip the Titan on turn 4
Really excited to see this card in action in a constructed deck. I pulled off MechTitan twice in draft with Anvil helping create artifact creatures … looking forward to trying our this deck!
I’m really surprised there’s no mind link mech. Maybe cut a couple of ninjas for it 🤷🏾♂️. Black could change out for white or red easily. I think they got better artifacts. I’ll have to try it out. Thanks for the deck showcase

I just went 0-3 vs Naya Runes, but I beat mono white aggro and mono black control. I built a mono blue exactly like this not long ago, and I thought it was better. Cut black and add Reality shift and Disruption Protocol. Reality shift is just affinity dig through time, it's very good when you're trying to find your Chips and Cores.
I always think of R. Lee Ermey in Full Metal Jacket during basic training when he's trying to motivate the recruits to do pull ups "One more for the Corps".
yeah, the only way this deck has a chance against even the worst deck is if they don't kill your reality chip, but usually if they don't have removal to kill your reality chip, they are so agressive that you're being run over any way. this video is extrememly misleading
@@indeliblyronnie Yeah it’s hard to find a fun deck that’s actually competitive with the meta being either super aggro or very removal heavy. That’s why I save the interesting decks for unranked 😅
Missed drawing 4 cards with the tez emblem against mono white. Didn’t matter but it’s a good start to remember and u showed it off in the game before as well so always keep in mind u can crew infinitely to draw cards especially when ur going to create vultron anyway
I put the new Tezzeret in a proliferate artifact super friends EDH recently. Managed to ult him 3 times in 3 turns. The contagion engine helped a lot but still
It's weird that Tezerret changes P/T for artifact creatures but not vehicles. I wonder if it said "noncreature artifact" at some point in development, or if that "except vehicles" bit was added in response to some specific interaction.
I feel like this deck may be better off in UR. You don't lose much by dropping the black, but picking up red lets you run Enthusiastic Mechanaut, and I think the deck would benefit a lot from that cost reduction.
I'm Megazord! Born in 86' I remember how impossible it was to get the Dragonzord / Green Ranger toy or any of the Rangers. Blue was always the easiest though haha poor Billy.

When I saw this deck on your untapped profile, I immediately thought this Blade is not worth wildcards and replaced it with Virus Beetle. Maybe not as cool as Spirited Companion, but should have some value in most of the games.
You gotta play mechtitan with the anvil in a red black shell using reinforced ronin and the anvil gives you way more than enough targets for mechtitan to come out
Why don't you run white and use patch up? It's been working REALLY well for me. Also, you can run lion sash, which also hides from sweepers and makes your opponent target your one drops over tameshi or tactician.

Btw cool little synergy i noticed: with the tezzeret emblem you can tap one of your own useless artifacts with network disruptor and draw a card.

Virus beetle could be okay instead of the blade. Can turn into a 5/5, easy to discard late game, and is a nice little combo with core or awakening

At around 34:00 were you supposed to crew first to draw a bunch of cards and then activate the core? Maybe I'm missing something.
That Tezzeret ultimate is brutal. No way to deal with an emblem. Guess mill or "you lose the game" win-cons.
Would Circuit Mender be a good replacement for Blade of the Oni if I don't want them?
