LATEST STAR CITIZEN PATCH ALPHA 3.23.1 OPEN PTU
BOREDGAMER GIVEAWAY RULES | / star_citizen_may_2024_...
MY SYSTEM SPEC | / boredgamer_system_specs
Star Citizen is an Open Development Alpha Project by Cloud Imperium. It is 2 Games really though, the Persistent Universe that aims to build a First Person MMO Space Sim that encompasses gameplay in ship & on ground, economy and pretty much anything else you can think of. It's built in the StarEngine (a modified Lumberyard Engine). You'll see massive Space Ships that you can fly with friends, land on planets, explore or whatever your way to whatever goal you choose. It's available to try in it's current Alpha State now, you can give feedback & influence the direction of the game BUT it is VERY ALPHA.
Squadron 42 is the Single Player Campaign of Star Citizen & the Spiritual Successor of Wing Commander. The Idea is the game is immersive, cinematic, beautiful & seamless... NO LOADING SCREENS once in game.
Both Games are currently in the Alpha of their development.
I am suspecting to see something more mainstream for Star Citizen's PU by the end of 2024 with permanent progression, though it will be a while after that before the game is considered "feature complete" which would be closer to 2025 in my opinion.
The are no dates for Squadron 42's Release Yet BUT it is now Feature Complete.
I am an Independent Content Creator & Star Citizen Fan. I am not paid by Cloud Imperium HOWEVER I am an Evocati Member and as such I am under an NDA for Closed Early Patch Tests of Star Citizen', known as the Evocati Test Flight (ETF). They occasionally offer me ships for giveaways too, which I will take if they are truely NO STRINGS ATTACHED.
GameGlass, Shadow & NordVPN referrals give me a small kickback, however I am not paid by them for any specific videos or promotion. Unless Otherwise Stated.

LATEST STAR CITIZEN PATCH ALPHA 3.23.1 OPEN PTU
😂😂😂 We should forget about 4.0 for a while till they get all the bugs and glitches out. I still cannot play the game in its current state of 3.23!
Fuego is pronounced ‘F-w-eh-go’. It means fire ✌🏼😊
It cannot be understated just how important Server Meshing is for Star Citizen to actually move towards it's vision of a complete game. We can talk all day about content, balancing, ships, AI and missions, but without Server Meshing all of it is useless. Hopefully the recent test are indicative of eventuall success towards this milestone.
Yea that is all bullshit
server meshing will fix the game guys o7
@@FlockersDesignexplain
Been watching from the sidelines for 12 years now. It's time for the game to start getting mature and move to a beta. Even if buggy, if 4.0 comes out this year and is a success then I think I will finally get a package.
@@olternaut same same, original backer and have been waiting a loooong time to finally jump in with my Cutlass Black. It's about time. What I don't really understand given an IT background is why server meshing is such a hard thing for them. We've been running server clustering for years and the handout in pretty seamless though there are occasional issues.
4.0 somehow I cant believe it coming this year
It's not
Lol
it's really not, or maybe wave 1 evo until feb next year
He said the roadmap will be released this year. Remember when the BMM was on the road map, that sh*t still ain't here.
How many years has 4.0 was going to be released?
I'll stay on the hopium with ya
Transit system rework is much needed. Sometimes the trams jitter and jump out of place.
I do not look forwards to Engineering gameplay if parts are going to break down often or last as much as water sustains our player.... Like one can die by not drinking water in 5 hours. unreal. And I fear engineering will be as unreal as that.
Maybe like 10-15 hrs per component would be good
Or 20
Just so it doesn’t get too repetetive
Agree about the transit system.
MFD rework, displays, HUDs, "greater visibility", and "manufacturer-based visual overhaul" gives me slight hope that my favorite ship, the Freelancer, might get some love. Soon tm...
The prison gameplay loop really needs attention... I hope they address this soon.
I want missions to do in prison, you know become a prison bird type gameplay lmao. beat up some guy and gain rep with the local prison gang etc. it'd be funny to start a mission and get out of prison half way through, then when you return the guy is still there waiting or if you get out they can notice this and you lose rep with him for ditching or being a goody two shoes or something and if you cross the wrong gang then you better hope you don't get sent back to the slammer because they're in there waiting for you lol
they kinda have a track record for abandoning stuff theyve already "released" no matter how broken it is. just look at the state of the starter ships - you know, the first experience your new players have
Looking forward to all the planets of Pyro coming!
Yes, to me due to it's a milestone, but the system i'm really hyped to see is Terra. Someday.
This is my sixth year backing SC, and holy cow CIG is just going full steam ahead! Very exciting times coming up!
Holy cow is fitting lol
Been hearing this for years.
@@slickdiggler1197 lol
@@slickdiggler1197and yet you are still here
You're me, 5 years ago, then.
surprised not to see Quantum changes in 4.0, new effect and short jumps/bubble lock gameplay.
Well there will most likely be an end of year patch as well, with some additional features in it to round out the citcon stuff a bit better. This is also the first roundup with 4.0 on it, so things are likely to be added to it at some point, they usually are
I'd like to see armor lockers working on ships like the Carrack. I know there are way more important features to work on but it would be a nice QOL upgrade. Being able to set the ship up with the appropriate armor sets ready for your crew members to use.
Kind of wish that came with the cargo refactor + freight elevators.
I find the server tech being developed in SC fascinating. I wonder if other games can use/license the tech...
We've been on the road to 4.0 for awhile now, and we can finally see the offramp!
... construction ahead, re-routing.
exciting that they are aiming for a Q3 instead of Q4 release. (aka some time this summer)
I feel like the Zues MK II CL would make more sense to come out first. Unless they have plans on getting some scanning gameplay in this year.
Pyro is coming out at the same time....EXploring!
Would not mind, the Zeus looks pretty good!
Production schedules exist to organize production as efficiently and effectively as possible within the context of a complicated set of inter-dependent teams working on inter-dependent deliverables with frequent bottlenecking therein. It has little, if anything, to do with what might make sense from a player's perspective: those considerations are factored in at the high-level, by directors and managers and producers, not by the developers or the producers working on actual deliverables.
TL;DR: Ships are made based on internal staffing demands and labour efficiency, not some schedule of "we want this in players hands first/next/whatever." Those player-facing considerations will be made early, and have little impact on actual production schedules in-team.
The speed things are being added to the game now, we might get to a 3.99.9 patch before pyro drops.
Things are going much faster than before lol
@@OutofthisRealm I think it's because SQ42 is 'feature complete' and some of that team has been brought over.
Finally the game is being shaped in the ultimate space sim we all wanted! Really excited for the future years.
Shame they took out the actual space sim part out of it :(
@@realnaste And which one is that? The new master modes? LOL
@@Empty12345 Medical Gameplay, Consequence to death, Bed logging are a few of many I guess. I've also heard rumors that they've scrapped the complex engineering gameplay plans, I genuinely hope they haven't, if you have anything to bring my hopes up, let us know!
@@Empty12345 Yes. one of the more important aspects of a space SIM is spaceship behavior in space. LOL
@@realnaste Not necessarily, it depends what the space game is supposed to simulate.
Star Citizen is now focusing on more balance in the space combat, since they're highly focused on PvP.
They only restricted the speed when in combat with MM. If that's the line where it stops being a simulation, then it never was one.
Considering the Pyro Playground that they did last year, I'll be surprised if Ruin Station isn't there from the start of 4.0
SC moving forward so quickly this year. Fingers crossed 4 will be on time.
It was quite a nice surprise. I was just expecting the Pulse to be added and the Retaliator and modularity to be confirmed for 3.23.1 yesterday.
4.0 by the end of Q3 this year seems like a lofty goal to me.
I'm so glad they filled the holes in the Sabre Firebird. Now just need to make sure the Raptor isn't just a street sweeper.
I'm surprised that the show floor and new ships are on the PTU right now.
Disagree, I've seen the star ports, we need a Street Sweeper. :P People leaving their nasty-ass bottles all over the place.
@@Glandorray, A18 port doesn't hepl with all the bins not having openings to use them. But your right some type of cleaner is needed.
Question,
I havent played in a couple years mainly cause i tired of setting up controls every time i restarted windows and it mixing up hid's. Has this been fixed yet?
Id love to play but sick of messing with controler setups.
Imo, the queue to hop systems comes with many knock on potentials that could be avoided if there were just like a region where we can initiate the jump.
tbh although these updates are quite a long time away if they can stay on track and get these out it will make the game so much more fun though those solar bursts going to be a pain in the rear lol
I've had Star Citizen on the radar for several years and finally jumped in after what I've seen in 3.23...this actually looks a bit like a game and not a tech demo. I know the vets all have legit gripes about promises not delivered and deadlines missed and maybe I'm just another sucker, but after some brutal lessons in SC jank the game has been well worth the $45. I'm excited to see what's next, but I'm keeping expectations and time horizons in check :)
Im going to be reserved about my excitement for 4.0. When it happens it happens.
Seems like the updates are coming fast. Feels good at this pace.
After all these years it feels like the roller-coaster is close to the top and we're soon hitting the downward acceleration towards release! 3.23 was impressive in scope and deployment. Excited for the continuation with 4.0!
can’t believe that we could be in Pyro this year 🎉
How many players will be able to be in game during meshing v1?
I cannot wait to jump in and start learning the ropes of SC! o7
4.0 seems to be a big step toward exploration, so I'm hoping for the refinery ship, the expanse, and the repair ship, the crucible. I think those are the last two steps to making it possible to be fully independent from stations and cities in star citizen. And of course, base building. I think that shift will be a massive game changer
I wouldn't be surprised if Server Meshing played a role in the pause on Cargo Elevators and Personal Hangers.
Just want that new ship UI/MFD update, so nice.
I'm just praying for base building. And equally, hoping that base building becomes a way of having more short term gameplay sessions to balance out the time required for starfaring and QT jumping.
Go long on the weekends and gather prerequisites for base building, and through the week, base build, terraform, make stuff, grow stuff, have planetside adventures that can be done in smaller time chunks.
Between 3.23 and the upcoming 4.0, I don't think I've been this excited about Star Citizen's future in a long time.
I keep sending your vids to my friends to get them excited about the game again... pretty sure this ones gonna do it! 4.0 LETS GO!
the Q3 projected release was... surprising. really makes me excited to see what they got planned to announce at citcon.
Going through the planet and moon names of pyro, almost every one of them, especially the moons of the outermost planet, reference fire in their name. Their names are different language’s words for fire. I think that is really neat and love CIG’s wordplay
this is crazy ambitious stuff. i would settle for functional elevators and AI and no more wiped ships
When I landed on Bloom in the last Evo test of Pyro, I was blown away. It reminds me of the Scottish Highlands.. gorgeous, rugged beauty.
Really didn't expect to see a 4.0 Release View card. Wild times.
Ok, Star Citizen has some serious momentum behind it right now. Granted, it could be just my algorithm showing me content, I really hope they don't bug this up and keep the good stuff coming.
Hard to not be excited for 4.0! I hope the server meshing works and improves server performance/FPS cause that is one of my biggest issues at this point. I have been able to find a few 30 FPS servers since 3.23 and it's so nice to have the systems actually work properly vs the constant struggle with almost everything from buttons to your inventory on low FPS servers
I'd love if they made the pyro more dim so that we could see the flares spit out the side of the star
nice list of features for just in a few months. In curious to See if the manage to implement Server meshing and how much impact it will have on the pu. like how much is the shard size going to increase and how will the gameplay change.
I am a bit sad though to see not so much about gameplay/content progress. Like a better Player to Player contract System that takes let's players rate others about their Services or the quanta System. but maybe I just missed that.
I would love if they finally assign a key to adjust your speed to your target when flying. That key exits in the settings, but doesn't work.
so good i hope they replace the farm locations in Stanton with the home steads and build actule crops and pens for the grazers would be a nice touch
I'm curious to see if they try and get the Zeus cargo variant in game along with cargo missions along with how they will decide what ships they decide to rollout fire and fire extinguishers on first (besides the Zeus explorer).
This is a random thought, but I hope eventually, perhaps when they implement more granular ship customization, that there will be a variant of life support systems allowing for ships to have a garden pod that feeds breathable air to the rest of the vessel. On ships like the Carrack, Idris, or anything big, this would be a great alternative to fully artificial life support that is finite.
It's been a minute for me in SC, but this video has brought about a fresh SC install. Great video!
It's been a long time coming for Server Meshing... Finally we can see the glimpse of it!
I already can't wait until 4.0 comes to the live servers later this year.
It won't
@@user-rg7hh6tr6x I'm cautiously optimistic that it will come out this year.
This is the big tech! Excited to see it coming together! Godspeed, devs! Great stuff, Bored! Be well, Citizens! 😉👍
I'm super stoked for this list. The only feature that I'm still waiting for not mentioned here is AI crew (and maybe maelstrom destruction system depending on what's coming with engineering).
Do we know when they'll expand the stanton system. Still waiting for that asteroid belt
Pyro is gonna be crazy to explore and all these changes sound great and very much appreciated, can't wait to get my hands on them.
Star Citizen's soundtrack is the unsung hero of the game. So epic!
Super excited to explore pyro! I want to believe this will come out this year but also a little curious if it actually will.
I like the outlook on patch 4.0. The Pyro playground was fun, I am really looking forward to that addition. I still think that it is quite possible that not all features will make the initial cut, but we'll find out in fall.
Can't see 4.0 not being pushed beyond q3, but it's still an amazing pace they're pushing this
Is that the way to get around charging ground vehicles?
Really great actually seeing Pyro on the roadmap. It finally feels like it's really coming this year.
Glad they are keeping that velocity!
Can't wait for 4.0!!!! Hopefully it does come out with all of its intended content.
Once server meshing gets added, every career in Star Citizen will boom. It should allow for much higher amounts of people to play together.
4.0 is very exciting. Hopefully with more people and better server tick rates this will start to feel like a real video game.
Lots of details for the planets of Pyro. It sounds like a load of resources to harvest once outpost construction comes in 🤞
I have family that have told me Star Citizen "isn't going to go anywhere." Looks like they might be wrong :D
Definitely keen to get into Pyro after missing out on the invite-only playtest
I bought a fury LTI token at fleet week last year, got a game package at iae last year, got a computer capable of playing starcitizen in early january this year, so i don't know whether this in an anniversary of sorts or not.
Great to see 4.0 on the Roadmap, can't wait to be able to travel to multiple systems and see all the other benefits of server meshing
I feel like the event moving into 4.0 really needs to be a big one, a lot more then just a new system.
4.0 feels like the start of fleshing out the rest of the verse outside stanton. I hope that star system implementation keeps going after pyro is released too.
I'm excited to see that we're talking about a 4.0. If fleet week goes well it could be a big momentum builder.
Do we have any info on what the monthly cost will be when SC is released?
Once base building is out I hope you can set it as your respawn location, or to at least have it as a spawn location
Eventually they will make it so you can log out anywhere in the verse and then log back in in the same exact location without a bed. And yes once you have a base, it is intended to allow you to build medical facilities, this implies to me that respawn is likely in your bases.
Thanks for the updates bro!
Ever since they showed the Stanton-Pyro jump-point in the last years CitizenCon, i've been thinking. Should they add upgraded Quantum Drives for let's say some of the bigger true Capital Ships, which would allow them to jump between Systems that are *close* enough, forcing players to use specific Quantum Routs throut the game when more Systems are added.,
Do we know if ship to ship refuelling will be working for 4.0?
i hope server meshing makes the planets feel a lot more busy with people
Looking forward to Pyro for sure, but by the end of Q3? That really means hopefully before the end of Q4. I do think its possible but completely hangs on Server Meshing. I think how long it takes to get beyond Evocati will be a determination of how close they really are. Limited tests we have seen definitely lend to hope that they can achieve it.
I dint foresee the Apollo coming out by the end of the year but the Legionnaire defiantly has a shot.
Interesting moon names.
The system name, Pyro, is derived from the Greek for "fire".
Ignis, Vatra, Fuego ("fwaygo") and Vuur ("voo-er") all mean "fire" in different languages (Latin, Albanian, Spanish and Dutch).
Fairo and Adir do not apparently translate to "fire" that I can see, although feel free to correct me.
Beyond excited for server meshing. Hopefully it will already start helping with server performance in the initial versions. Also waiting patiently for the Odyssey!
It's great to see substantial updates on 4.0. Though the speculation is fun it's good to get more concrete information.
4.0 is going to bring some amazing updates. Star Citizen just keeps getting better.
4.0 is going to be so exiting just hoping it won’t turn into a lagfest!Would love any ship
Great video. Cant wait to see new systems in the game. Pyro will be a great start towards having more systems :)
But first they'll need test for a while how playing through systems work. Bugs, crashes and stuff.
Thx for the great run-by of the latest roadmap news! Finally a date for the zeus mk2. Can’t wait to finally use my upgrade for it and fly it to explore Pyro! 🎉🤩
Its exciting to see 4.0 on the road map. I cannot wait to see all this happen.
Wonder how long after the the 4.0 release people will trickle back to Stanton or will people be cautious and wait to explore Pyro more thoroughly?
Whoah!! All this info!! Oh God!! The patches, the hotfixes, to get all this working as intended, (usually tier 0) and the slow grind of updates to get it all to gold standard!! Just being appreciative of the work to come people!!
From what they're said, server meshing appears to be in a pretty goid state. I think the thing that is really holding it up is the need for the new misdion manager. Right now if your server crashes, or you transition between servers, you lose your missions.
I think why it is called server meshing v1 is because it already has more than just static server meshing. I have a feeling CR is trying to push for even more before v1 is released.
It was already explained. They are aimming towards dynamic meshing v1.
Okay sorry but I'm a bit confused, I haven't really kept up with SC since last years Citizen Con but did some sort of massive set back happen in the meantime or did I miss something else?
Because I could have sworn that nearly all of these features that are now shown to somehow only be in 4.0 were supposed to come out within the next few months after Citizen Con.
I mean I know that CIG are basically operating on Valve time but to have all that being pushed back into 4.0 and to the end of the year (more likely Q1 or 2 next year) when they made it seem like this stuff would come out very soon is honestly pretty disappointing to see, not surprising but still.
@free4fire
None of this was pushed back since last year's CitizenCon and none of this was promised for last year at CitizenCon. They showed demos of these features as features they were working on, did not in any way say these were coming in the following update, but just showed the progress, said it would be soon, and showed more Squadron42 stuff now that that game is nearing completion and they are moving more of its dev team over to SC to add over the features, locations, content from SQ42 to SC.
3.23 was a huge game changer update (flight overhaul, FPS overhaul, tons of new modes and content, etc) that just dropped with everything promised for it but personal hangars. 4.0 is a separate update bringing in a lot of the exciting stuff they showed at CitizenCon. They've been hitting deadlines like crazy.
So yes, you are a bit confused, but its not over anything CIG has actually said
Its going to be a huge milestone for sure, hopefully we don't have to wait too much longer for it
I am reccomending Star citizen now more and more to my friends. I have always been cautious to share in the development as I knew its not for everyone, but now it is getting better and better. I just hope they sort out the server issues, as that will retain players better.
Absolutely mad keen for pyro, being able to progress between systems is the biggest deal to me and really achieves making the freelancer 2 vibe u want
I'm loving all the content, mechanics and depth they have planned for the universe. I wonder how much they'll be incrementally balancing the 'fun' of these features (versus the sandbox functionality) or if they'll just try push through till a lot of the integrated components are in, and then smooth the balance out on a macro level.
Nice update! Hopefully we will get a SCL w/ the planet tech team once 4.0 gets closer.
