You underestimate the power of investor influence. We get this (ready or not) by Citizen Con I bet.
@@Caennuck Their deadline floats between 2025 and 2028 depending on if/when the investors plan to cash out. Their cashflow is vulnerable this year so per their financial disclosures the investors could demand payment which would bankrupt them. Contrary to CIG stating 'this means they won't try it' it means 'they end up owning it and calling the shots'. If they play hardball they can force CIG to come up with new loans to cover the old loans and that would come with a surrender of control guaranteed.
@@RN1441 Yeah, 2025 is coming up soon. You probably want to be able to show real progress and build confidence
You talkin' 4.0 or 1.0?
3.23 has largelyt been fine across all the various loops I focus on and Master Modes has had a generally warm reception from most people on servers once they actually try it out.
Its weird seeing the calls for outrage and comments that everyone should be upset when this has been one of the better patches in a while.
For the military multi-tool WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT GAMPLAY IF IT WAS REP LOCKED?? Want the special uee gear , gain rep with the navy , imagine having GAMPLAY
Just like in Elite Dangerous lol
Rep locked gear definitely needs to be a thing. Matter of fact, lock ALL military grade anything behind rep or specific missions like overdrive. The only way to get the military variant was to do a 5 part quest. And even then it’s (canonically) still just the “old retired” versions. I like the idea that there is tech we can’t get or is very very rare. Nothing cooler than seeing someone in an mmo with a mount or a weapon that can’t be obtained or lets others know that player did something really hard to get that kit.
@@Terran0va_Plays totally agree. Ill never forget when I first walked into Orgrimmar back in 2007 as a level 9 seeing a fully decked out level 60 with a pvp gladiator set. I knew right then, I had to have that set no matter the grind 🤣
Wdym “gameplay”
I'll be the most excited when base building is on the roadmap.
i wanna see how many cards are removed before it arrives xd
Honestly I'd bet none of them that are currently out will, maybe some of the new ones they add later down the road
We placed bets.
1 to 3 removed 7 bet
5 to 9 removed 4 bet
10 to 15 removed 1
Winner gets nothing.
Hopefully if it follows 3.23 trends, just one thing!
@@FrenchyTube3Two. And they were the headline features.
@@CyrusKazan I thought it was just the cargo/freight elevator stuff? What was the second?
No maelstrom and therefore armor or control surfaces but we’re getting engineering and life support???? Hokay….
64gig memory requirement for maelstrom 😅 128gig and a threadripper if you want it to work around lorville
@@Anonymous-m9f9j Pretty sure it’s already borderline 64GB recommended. I have 32 and have 30GB committed while my friend is using 64GB and has 42GB committed. Not a big deal tbh, ram is pretty cheap.
i feel engineering will help balance master modes as more things can go wrong in ships meaning combat will likely be downing a ship then boarding to finish the fight
ED guy says "beam citizen" as if the arctorch cutter and energy link gun and ID scanner aren't any less advanced 😂
Doesn’t matter. Beams suck.
You guys have no idea how close this game is to "commercial release" CR has spoken of. It will be dumped as soon as it's playable. The second it's stable enough where you don't crash or recovery works 100% of the time it will be SC Live 1.0
Yes! Beta label probably only 4 years away now!
@@AtlasGaming4k Nah I don't think they have that much time.
2028
The list of stuff planned for 4.0 is ridiculously padded out. They've split a single star system out to be 15 different things. Meanwhile if they started delivering a star system every week we'd finish 2026 before they had met their crowdfunding obligations. Similarly, 'a couple ships' in 4.0 does nothing to move the needle on that backlog. I'm already expecting that server meshing will get bumped before 4.0 just like the cargo elevators and personal hangars were bumped from this one.
Tried SC for first time over last couple of weeks, can't believe how bad of a state it's in after all these years and money. Years wasted.
The Pyro granular updates are warranted due to the amount of refinement, polish, and optimization done since our last Pyro play test.
I just hope they really focus on laying a perfect foundation with server meshing and ensuring all features and systems work perfectly with the new tech. As long as they get that in perfect working order I believe everything else they add to the game will come much easier and with way better performance than we've seen in previous patches. I believe dynamic server meshing could be the closest thing to a "silver bullet"... close
No way this is Q3. Slim chance 4.0 by XMAS but more likely next year.
@@nahbro3240 40% missing is really generous, i'm thinking like 60%
Yeah will get it pushed into testing for sure
Glad they communicate and people get excited.
I don’t do disappointment well so when it’s in the Live game then I’ll believe it.
Don’t they need to finish 3.23 during Q3? Cargo elevators, distribution center insides, & Server Meshing, etc.
Iirc DC underground and Server meshing was not a planned feature of 3.23, Cargo Is planned for 3.23.x (Most likely .2 or .3, not going to be .1(Since that's the Invictus patch)
Distro centres are already there. We won't see the underground parts until resource management is in.
Ah I see thanks for the info. I thought 3.23 was supposed to include server meshing? Maybe I’m mistaken.
Anyways, I personally don’t count Distribution centers as in until there is gameplay and underground stuff. It’s a start tho, I’ll go check the out the current distribution centers some time soon.
Uhhh just to remind you, June is also q2 so they have the rest of May and all june.
@@GNZ-uo1lr I mean a lot was promised and we are almost halfway through the year. Just trying be realistic and not get my/others hopes up. No need to change your opinion on their progress.
Of course theyd do this 2 days before the big sale. Timing is everything. You wont get elevators and item recovery before august, and id bet the farm this list gets axed up before citcon. Tempure expectations but thing are getting done.
"Q3 this year." See you all in Pyro Q1 2025 o7.
Mike what is your opinion on Armor that has special abilities what is lootable only. Example is the chest piece is what gives you the ability, the helmets arms and legs increases the ability by say 10% per piece. Downside is you cannot wear a backpack. Heavy armor chest piece give you 50 Shields. Medium armor chest piece lets you jetpack in the air for 1.2 seconds. Light armor chest piece let you cloak for 1.2 seconds. More like Predator cloak where you're more of a shimmer. This way at close range in PvP it's not overpowered but that medium to long range someone might actually lose track of you
Still don't see Ruin station mentioned in those Pyro Space stations..... dun dun dunnnnnn
So, was playing 3.23, still had 30K errors, still having server crashes.
Very low server FPS, missions bugging out all the time, NPCs teleporting, shooting through the wall, invisible, invincible ships and NPCs and so on and on and on...
Honestly, 3.23 to me only brought the quick F key which helps, the new UI and map which is alright, and master modes which broke the ship combat, drastically, but hey, at least it`s something new in SC that we must learn and try out, BUT the best feature that was really hoping and wanted to test was improved server stability, performance, and missions that actually worked, which to me means no more inventory bugs, boxes disappearing, ships exploding out of nowhere... All of those broken features are still in the game, which to me is very disappointing, another SC update, another long list of whatever, we still don`t have a functioning stable game.
Weird. 3.23 is the most stable SC has ever been for me
For that stability you need server meshing which is what 4.0 is all about
@@kajmak64bit76 If the servers are not running properly with 100 players/server, I have minimal hopes that Server Meshing is solving anything, the idea of Server Meshing is to increase that 100 player count, to all the players in specific locations/regions that they chose.
@@shippy1001 The idea of server meshing is performance
Instead of 1 server 100 people per Star System you will get 1 server 100 people on a Planet which gives you better perfomance since that server only process that area and not the entire system... which means the AI would run and perform better and other stuff
The end goal is dynamic server meshing where it dynamically scales based on the density and workload so we can get servers really tiny controlling parts of a space station or somethin and not the entire station...
4.0 is months away amigo... that's plenty of time for them to iron Server meshing out... we're literally on the first step of it... and it's an Early Access step
Remember... Star Citizen is difficult to work with... everything they made they make from scratch... they tried using outside tech and sticking it in their tech and it just doesn't work and you got disaster that was what was it... 3.18? lol
So everything is made from scratch and custom... there are no pre-made parts like in Unreal Engine or Unity they can just stick it in and it works
If 4.0 lives up to the hype it might be their best content patch ever.
Nix will probably also release with Pyro
most likely PTU during citizencon, like they did a few years ago, maybe thats why citizencon is compacted into 1 day this year.
Citizencon is q4...This is for q3-
I want Pyro and server meshing so bad
Bet your ass those military multitools will be on the pledge store for the PU lol
Basically everything in game is in the pledge store, no big deal
Mike, it's both a Patch AND an Expansion. Pyro is the Expansion, and Expansions have their own content (with all it's own attendant problems and issues) to deliver. 4.0 is the Patch, and THAT seems mostly focused on Server Meshing, and all things related plus a few 'extra' features. The 'extra' features are what (I fear) will break the Patch.
We're a long way away from 2957, so I wouldn't worry about harming the 1.0 release. By the time this game is finished, we'll be using exponents to describe the version number 3.23^12 etc.
You do realize we're past the turning point right?
SQ42 is feature complete and is in the final polishing phase
Lots of devs from it moved over to star Citizen to port stuff from SQ42 into Star Citizen which is what we're seeing here and is the reason why 3.23 update is so huge
Big and primary thing about 4.0 update is Server Meshing... so if they bring that out... the whole update is an instant success and the rest of the stuff is just a nice little bonus
4.0 will be good and will have most of the features if not all
The days of old Star Citizen development are gone... we're in a rapid game changing update time now
These next 2 years will be equivalent of like 6 or 8 years condensed into 2
We're going quantum with this one 🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥
( and yes i did copy paste this reply from the one i replied to someone else )
@@kajmak64bit76 Only 98.5 more star systems to go! And all of the different non-combat professions... crime and punishment... base building.... dozens of ships to start work on, more dozens of ships to revamp completely, and more dozens to gold standard.
That'll be done in no time!
@@ericweeks8386 apart from the ship stuff... they can get everything else done in like next 2 years... besides we don't know what they got cooking to port over from SQ42 lol
Besides... pretty sure Star Citizen is live service so it's constantly gonna be worked on and get content updates and new ships and ship polish updates
I wouldn’t be surprised if life support and everything connected to fire gets removed if they start having issues and need to save time.
That is a for certain. Absolutely.
Hopeful skepticism is all we got no one believes cigs time frames but we all believe it will happen one day. I feel Frustrated at being patient
Initial thoughts: create hype for invictus
when will 3.23 be playable? there is so much broken stuff already . I cannot take off because of the floating junk in hangars and can't shoot FPS weapons ...
Just in time for the big sale, tbey almost missed it.
4.0 totally coming
Buy big ships !!!
Big HYPE
This will take time from the team fixing master modes?! Wat? My concern is that fixing master modes will take time from doing gameplay features for more than 3% of the community in form of 1v1 pvp sweatlords
Charge and overcharge. Great more gameplay coming directly from Elite Dangerous. Just like the cutting tool and the power triangle. The more game design they steel the better the game will become!
It's a gravity gun. And it's a good thing.
the last alpha update is a big deal alpha 4.0... since next is beta 1.0 right...
Nah, they are just ignoring promises they made. 600i rework? Banu? Polaris? Who asked for this rework? They just want to sell ships, don't buy anything unless its in the game. They literally don't care about past promises
need to see server meshing make the ai and desync work properly otherwise everything sort of falls over.
Love you Mike, but are you frigging kidding me? Clearly multiple new planets, working server meshing and a new system WITH new locations alone is a bigger update than 3.23....
Also, that we've seeeeeen it in a limited test does not mean it's not a huge change for the live servers.
Although i agree that 3.23 had lots of great features, and is one of the best patches ever.. i must say that server meshing alone is perhaps even bigger than everything already in the game combined, let alone the new system.
Depends what you mean by “bigger” but anyway who cares
@@CitizenScott bigger as in more important i assume
Bigger for art department smaller for programmers. The non sexy underlying tech takes way more time than the speed with which art department can create ship exteriors and locations.
Not to mention engineering which radically g changes ships
I'm among the lucky few that has had nothing but a great experience with 3.23.
Ya I'm not sure why he's so pouty about 3.23
I've had nothing but problems. Server crashes, mission bugs, random explosions, deleted cargo. Etc... I have been unable to earn anything in the game because of bugs. With only an hour or two a day to play each day. It makes it impossible to progress. Oh yeah inventory issues falling through floors. Literally every thing I do gets stopped by a game breaking bug
Yeah same
I’ve had a great experience with almost no bugs and I’m kinda surprised so many people are saying it’s bad
How many missions have you tried? Major problems with the missions I’ve done. Guns not firing. Item delays. Etc. It’s not as bad as 3.18, but that’s not saying much.
I actually like MM... sorry :P
It’s ok we’re here for you
A 4.0 without atmospherics huh? I don’t know about that.
I play both and saying Elite Dangerous has a lack of content is pretty hilarious lol.
There is a s**t ton content. The problem is that it all feels very dated. If the Odyssey content actually felt good to play it still would be the top space game.
I am curious to see where SC ends up but after a year of playing I think it is still years away from approaching anything like a finished product.
Oh and Master Modes currently sucks.
If you're into slower paced combat ED is way better at the moment.....
When I first came to SC about a year ago, the speed of combat felt really good....
Now it's kind of painful .
Same I play both. Well I play 1 and test the other. But I see more content filled off from Elite in the roadmap like the power triangle was so that’s a good sign. Maybe one day SC will play more like Elite but have prettier art and more ships. But then Elite will have $ for more DLCs from ship sales so it may become more like elite.
I agree, Elite isn't and MMO I guess. No matter what, the point is a SC fan shouldnt be shitting on any game, but neither should an ED fan.
@saltemikereacts I dunno people shit on all games all the time. I think in a way it's necessary. If people didn't shit on bad games more people would buy them and these shit games would never change.
Star Wars Battlefield anyone?
SC is a very interesting anomaly in the gaming space but it isn't even remotely a game at this point.
ED for all of its faults is a game and it is an MMO. I kind of don't understand your point there.
It's biggest problem is it feels dated. If they made a true blue sequel with an actual team with a toe in modern games it would be fire.
Like I never understood for the life of me why not take a page out of Destiny and have exotic modules and raids lol.
Would be dope.
I hope SC succeeds but it does get old selling ships in shit that don't have gameplay in the game.
At least ED having less detailed gameplay means everything has a point.
The game is 10 years old and set the standard and its not actually bad by any stretch. It's just showing its age....
4.0 only has zeus ES
Lol you have a CMDR in your name, have fun with your ship sale 😂
most people haven't gone to pyro...
If you look at the features that are top of list. Those features are core tech. Anything beyond core tech is place holder.
Why do i say that. Because we wont know how drastically downstream features need to change until ALL the core tech has been implemented, tested and hardened. Then lets worry about flight models, gameplay loops, effects, and features.
Honestly this community is a conglomerate of gameplay tribes constantly squaking at cig about the features that they want respective to their favored game loops.
And just to be blunt. Fighter pilots whose priorities are predominantly duel oriented should not be top of mind until we are well into beta. Because beta is where the real balance passes and polish begin.
The Star citizen community is as a whole understandably getting impatient but. We all know we have a long way to go before we see what the game is actually going to look like.
Dude "Server Meshing V1" is just a hidden load screen. IF server meshing is gonna work, chop up Stanton into loading screen areas and SHOW ME that things work better!! if they can't just do that, then Server Meshing is still a pipe dream.
Yeah I mean it’s already proven to a degree but until they can make it make sense financially in terms of server costs I’m touching wood
Server meshing was proven on demo and proven on live public testing... it works... buggy but it works
It's not a loading screen lol
4.0 in Evo when? ;)
Honestly, as soon as 3.23 cargo is out the door? Likely just the jumping and bare locations tho.
@@saltemikereacts agreed
No way this happens this year. lmao Not a chance.
Each and everyone of these videos have been a big nothing burger just like all the "updates"
My reaction... yea okay.😔
Bump for algo
I hope after 4.0 they will start working on actual gameplay instead of tech.
Well tech does normally come first so yes, after server meshing and the foundation is payed
HI LOLA!!!!!!
There seems to be a growing *overcomplication* problem. Looks as though it is becoming more tedious and less fun as they go.
Master Modes will kill this game before we get to 4.0.
The new patch just broke the game so bad I can't even get org mates to play. We usually have 10-20 people online every day after a new patch is released.
This patch everyone is playing different games. I really hope they make the missions work and fix the invulnerable ships and NPCs shooting in armistice.
This is the most stable patch in years.
30K wise, perhaps. Ourside that, the experience has been ass.
@@Billy-bc8pk I don't know what you're smoking but there are so many problems with our current patch that you can't do half the missions available, enemies shoot you in armistice, some npc ships are invulnerable, and repair bills are 10x the payout of a mission so everyone gives up when they have to keep abandoning their ships instead of repairing them. And we're back to bunker elevators randomly not going back up or sinking into the planet.
I've been playing regularly for 8 years and it feels just as broken as ever.

Works great for me and most others.
I guess you have to cover SC, but fore sure this shit isnt coming until 2025, and like how the hell are you supposed to positive Mike? you should cover other games, SC will never satisfy you
Mike, A refactor in development means a very specific thing. All the mission refactor describes is "we are going to make the mission system code work with server meshing" - nothing else.
Yes. They plan on making missions cross star systems.. a cargo haul between Pyro and Stanton and Viceversa, A Bounty Hunt mission across jumpoints, etc.
Making missions persistent between shards is a must if thats the plan with meshing.
Thanks for the game dev lesson, I am aware of this, but I am stating what it NEEDS to be.
@@saltemikereacts Oh sorry. I guess I just got confused as the way you phrased "I guess we'll have to see how substantial a refactor this is" made me think you were conflating "refactor" with "update" or "revamp". As in my mind the refactor is simply "it works with server meshing or it doesn't".
You are totally right about the need for multi-player missions though. It feels super bad to hop in to a new patch with friends and near immediately realise we are hamstringing our potential earnings by doing missions together.
@@wtfwhoisthisguy it's actually more a case of porting, similar with the AI and MFDs for example both of which you've already seen functioning in SQ42 live gameplay demo's, they are maintaining two development branches so the updates are constantly dependent upon what can we push to the PTU that is going to be achievable in said timeframe that doesn't have so many dependencies it's going to cause chaos and stuff breaking beyond use, in their SQ42 branch it's already working fine and dandy in most cases.
@@123Andersonev I'm not sure that is a significant distinction. Regardless of where it came from its something that wasn't previously set up to work with their nee networking solution and now they are refactoring it so that it does.
I'd actually be interested if you had a source for the mission refactor coming from the Squadron team? I know the visuals were ported over - but I don't see their being much sense in porting an underlying system without any existing networking set up vs one that they have just spent oodles of time refactoring to work with the replication layer? If they were just going to port the Squadron back end afterwards that would represent an enormous wasted effort.
4.0 wont contain 75% of what they have listed ^^ Also the game shouts AI blades and NPC gunners, but they simply ignore it.
Ai sucks until they figure out server meshing, npc gunners would probably not even shoot bc the limited window where they have a firing solution would go away before they shoot.

@@kajmak64bit76 Very much agree on this take. There have been a lot of critical tech that's been missing which has been the biggest hinderance for the development.
They've got tools now that can plop out entire planets by simply pushing a few buttons, but what's that going to do without the critical back-end tech to support that extra stuff? Not a lot, that's for sure.
Once they've got the necessary tech in, development will go at a pace that will become incomprehensible to most people.
"we" no i did not get to go in the very limited pyro playtest... its a big deal
this
Sure but that’s the problem with how CIG operate. I’ve waited years to be in of the brave first few to risk a trip to pyro, but instead it’s already been explored by those behind the wall. It no longer excites me at all.
@CitizenScott I am still excited I just wanted to highlight that his experience playing it was not everyone's.
@@anom794939393 right but loads of streamers/concierge already been there done that shared it on the internet so whatever
@CitizenScott You are right, few players got explore it. They barely touched the surface. It was such a limited window of time, large numbers had critical bugs that kept them from participating.
I am still exploring vast numbers of new locations in Stanton in 3.23. We as the entire playerbase have barely scratched the surface of Stanton over the history of SC.
So many awesome things await us in Pyro. We will set foot where no one has been.
My thoughts are still the same as they were after Citcon. That felt to me like CIG was past the hurdles holding them back and we would start seeing accelerated progress as well as them meeting the expectations they set during CitCon and frankly, so far they are delivering that.
I was kind of amused by the sudden jolt of hype for something we really were told was going to happen months back.
Not complaining though ;)
Citizencon 2023 was in October 21st, we are in May 2024, that's 7 months, last week we got the first "big" update after 7 months of the announcement, and they cut 3/4 of the promised features on 3.23, separating into 3 different patches that are spread now to by the word of Chris Roberts himself, "Hopefully by the end of 2024", putting us in the exact timeframe for SC PU updates that always have been, 1 per year.
Please detail to me what is/was accelerated? Because nothing has been accelerated as far as updates goes, not even Ship Sales/Releases are coming as fast as CIG promised, multiple RUclipsrs saw that and made videos about it, wheres the SQ42 personnel that moved to the PU?
@@shippy1001 Where in the previous years have we seen the number of changes and features roll out over a year? 3.23 is massive. 4.0 promises the same and CIG is not done after that I'm sure.
Also it's not 7 months. 3.22 already started to show us some things CIG brought to the table at Citcon. So 2 months to the first patch, then 5 to the second and another 5 to the third with possibly a smaller fourth end of the year. I'd say that is solid ..
I really do not care that there is not a major patch each quarter when the patches that are arriving have the quality of 3.23 and hopefully 4.0 .. Yes, 3.23 still needs work and we are still waiting for some big additions to come in this patch cycle, but this patch rolled out way smoother then most 0 patches in years. I see no issues in pushing parts of 3.23 into sub patches as long as the major pillars of the patch are there and working by the time they move to the next cycle. The argument that they are doing this is not good is simply not valid as there has never been a timeline for when what will be dine, just that what we saw at CitCon '23 will be in our hands within 12 months (or so). And CIG is delivering on that so far and it is realistic to expect they will complete. your claim 3/4 of the patch is held back is simply not correct.
A big test will be Invictus and whether the server will be able to handle the influx of players. I expect some issue there for sure, but if in general things hold up CG has managed to resolve yet another issue of the past.
I'd much rather have it this way 2, maybe three major patches in a year which start solid and get better over a few sub patches before CIG can move on to the next cycle. There has been a lot of experimentation and failed attempts in the past years and all of that is fine in the Alpha stage the game is in, For me, I believe CIG has passed the experimental phase and we are starting to see actual signs of the game coming together. Not there yet, but it's on the way.
I'd say come January 2025 we can make up the balance of this year and unless major items shows at Citcon '23 are not in yet, you are arguing a point which is not valid. I am optimistic about where SC will be end of the year, I also do expect that we will have a releasedate for SQ42 by then and we'll see CIG focus even more on the PU. I'm pretty sure most of the mileage towards release is behind us to the extent that I can see release be mid single digit years from now. If you want a year, I'd go for 2029, maybe late '28.
I hope to God they start cranking systems out once server meshing is in-game. They need at least 5 or 6 other systems ASAP, even if 2 or 3 are have only one rocky planet, some gas giants and half a dozen moons. Every system doesn't need to be as comprehensive as Pyro and Stanton.
SaltMike - Patch 3.23 is not bad at all. In my opinion patch 3.23, which is not perfect, is a success.
Not at all. It was buggy, the interface overhaul ended up being mostly counterintuitive, and the rework of contracts has made it worse for new players.
"All the features shown will be out within the next 12 months" - CR citizencon 2953
“All this AND MORE…” but also “within 12 months OR SO.”

@@CitizenScott Still waiting on 'all this and more' referring to the stretch goals.... by end 2015. Scam artists.

I was one of those elite dangerous players and elite dangerous definitely is not 10 times the game start citizen is. I know you were just throwing that out there but unnecessarily shitting on the game you love is kind of silly. In ways it is more of the game and in ways it is less. That's it.
Actually it is, Elite Dangerous has gameplay

@@AtlasGaming4k lol that is exactly the opposite. Star citizen is the game elite wanted to be and realized it could never be. I held the line Chris! I held the MUTHAFUCKIN LINE
Break live to get this in, let the team cook. This is worth a 3.18 level interruption to the “game”. Cargo is obviously coming in 3.23.x still, so I don’t know why that’s a concern at all when talking about Q3 4.0…
Not too fussed about Pyro. More planets/moons is essentially just a copy+paste and pallete swap of existing assets. With it being lawless, the vast majority of players will never set foot in it, as it will be full of griefers and campers. A lot of wasted time/effort on something that such a tiny portion of the playerbase will use. Would much rather have actual cool sci-fi planets and systems instead of yet another rundown Mad Max place. Actual gameplay would be a way better use of resources than a few new planets nobody will visit.
Server meshing is the only thing of real note in there. Once it is in, CIG will have to stop using the lack of server meshing as an excuse to not work on stuff. So we'll see how it pans out.
Imagine complaining about new content.. 😂😂😂 SC haters are so stupid
Saltemike: 3.23 had too much in it
Also Saltemike: Why doesn't 4.0 have all these other features I want?!
I’d love to see the multi tool trade modules for needing batteries, that way you still need components to make it work, but you don’t have to worry about making sure you have every type of tool or running into scenarios you didn’t expect
Even make us buy the modules individually but let us equip them all at the same time so we don't have to fiddle with the inventory when we want to change modes.
I mean, they’ve got 5 months to cram more stuff into the patch and then drop stuff to get it out.
Feel like I should be hyped, but I'm not for some reason. Maybe it's the wait? Idk...
Same here
Most of us are like this.
They need to surprise us.
They need to connect ALL the jump points in Stanton.
That surprise - would blow ALL of us away & would definitely start a hype train big enough to chug a lug lug us to 1.0
@@jrzgcwrocks Yeah maybe you’re right. We heard about all this for so long now it’s like ok cool now what else?
because we are unsure if they are actually gonna deliver
The real question is what will they push back to make their stated dates?
"I'm very excited" (in the voice of Droopy Dog).
What's the better game? StarCitizen or Elite Dangerous? Well, one is actually a game, and the other is not. So. Lmao
Scam:Dangerous
Elite:Scam
Nah, been there, done that.
I think the reason these patches feel uninteresting to me is because they really don’t resolve any gameplay mechanics, just introduce more problems or more junk or more broken incomplete shit.
I think an issue with releasing the 4.0 roadmap before 3.23 was out and stable-ish is that this community would shit on CIG for talking about 4.0 before they delivered 3.23....now they got 3.23 out and are talking about 4.0 and we shit on them for that. CIG can't win with this community.
Well now that 3.23 is here and gone now we are gunna hear 4.0 updates n feature bs. Hello 3.23 is NOT good! /slaps need to be handed around the CiG dev team, wth? How much time and money was just wasted on this crap? Its not my fault the devs cant make the spk turrets shoot at my ship if im not in th seat, its not! I want to ghost ride my ship into the spk station so I can get there sneakly without peep there knowing im there. I want to engage in pve that causes a pvp event ( its ur choice to come after me so no complaints if u die )
yea i don't agree, 4.0 is not a smaller patch content wise vs 3.23. A whole system plus server meshing. Basically double the space, assets and content vs now, plus stitching them together with the complications of server meshing. Performance will get worse before it gets better.
Maybe the Multi-tool from SQ42 is for use in the UEE Controlled systems, but the current one we are using is from non-UEE Systems, why not have two? Later Player player-crafted ones?
I think i can say my experience with 3.23 is one of the worst one of all patches so far. Hoping CIG can pull it off to get 1.0 out within 4 years.
(That is a working game - according to normal standards)
id be cool with that multitool to be alot more expensive and/or tied to a faction shop locked behind rep. and keep the greycat multitool
Tali gold standard is already in 3.23.1....so weird it moved from 4.0 down to 3.23.1
3.23 works a charm for me, dunno what the fuzz is about 🤷♂️
Why are so many hating on 3.23. I find it awesome so far.
Even MM is cool except the speed limit with gear down and harsh transistion.
The bugs they can fix in hotfixes. I dont see a problem really.
Also to say 4.0 is already tested seen its boring blabla. How many % of player base has seen it and for how long? Comon now. Its crazy the expectation people have sometimes. Or how theygive hate by coming on day 1 of a big patch beeing pissed about bug while they never play the refined version of a patch at the end of their livecycle.
Because unlike you, some people have brains.
@@Cramblit Typical insult because no arguments.
yeah where the f is cargo
Transport THIS
ED is trash...
The Release View states "Below you'' find the inital set of features... with more to come in the leadup to launch. So don't be too dissapointed with the initial set of features.
I'll go against a lot of the skepticism here and say that 4.0 is definitely doable this year and the other stuff mentioned as well.
For the first part... we basically saw all of static meshing work already. Even if not in person, it does exist and work in a state that far exceeds what gets put on Evocati usually.
Not to mention that 90% of Server Meshing is basically just functions of the Replication Layer, which just released.
Server crash recovery also shares a bunch of the aspects that make up the information sharing and delegation of server meshing. In a server crash, the information held by server A gets completely transferred over to the newly satrted server B, a transfer between 2 servers is basically just a partial and more frequent aspect of that, that missions work with neither is a good example.
As for engineering, that is currently in testing and has been in the making for years now, so it isn't that much more of a surprise. Mostly handled by the ship teams.
Multitool is... interesting and needs to be seen what it will end up like, mostly the works of weapon and actor feature teams.
MFD rework part of UI.
And stuff like Solar burst was already a thing in the test, so it wouldn't surprise me if that is basically finished for quite a while.
Now of course a bunch of that could also happen in 4.0.X, considering people like to forget that incremental patches do happen, but for the first look at the 4.0 cycle this looks promising.
@SaltEMike, you should check out DeadlySlob's zero to hero run from the first day. He's played SC before, and that's what happens to people, think of a new person who's never played SC and doesn't have chat to ask questions of. Might be a decent discussion/video around SC's new player experience.
I doubt that they're switching the multi-tool. The I Held The Line video gave me the impression that the S42 version is for military only and likely contains all modules for the sake of efficiency in the campaign. The roadmap update just sounds like they're gonna give it a similar pass that they gave the other FPS weapons in 3.23.
hm .. in regard to the multitool .. i like to have one with me at all times .. preferably one that does everything instead of having the attachments in my bag on top of it ..
i am totally fine with a "jack of all trades" having limitations .. because there also needs to be a reason why you would pick a bigger specialized one as well.
... hehe .. party system .. erm .. i want to believe .. but i dont ^^
I think master modes is pretty close actually now that I’ve been trying combat for a few days. I think all they need to do to start is an increase in SCM speeds by little bit.
4.0 looks massive too, man. This is the first roadmap roundup for that patch. I honestly thought you were going to be stoked 😢
When meshing comes in they should open it to everyone with no tier system so they can fix the bugs.
4.0 is mainly about going beyond stanton, and there is a huge system coming in , namely multi server solar systems, it's kind of behind the scenese but that's no small feat.. I think the next big batch of game features to make it 1.0 will be for next year mostly.
1.0 will be after SQ42 release, which is 2-3 years away (some insiders believe it might even be 4 years), IF and only IF, we get anything improved by next year is the full release of 3.23 with Cargo and player hangars.
Q1 2025 earliest. Or a stripped down 4.0, with half that content coming in .X patches.
Yeah cargo is broken. We caught people reselling sold invisible cargo
