Leprous is one of my absolute favourite bands. Their vocalist, Einar Solberg, has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard. You should check out their song Below. It's a single on their new album that just dropped this past weekend!
I'm super happy to see you reacting to hard prog. Leprous (like lepers, leprosy, the disease) was one of the bands playing at the first show I took my son to. You should also dive into the other two bands they toured the US with: HAKEN and Bent Knee. if you're going to check out Haken, go with Vector or the Cockroach King (the official video is legit, but is missing a huge chunk of solo sections) If you're going to check out Bent Knee... man they're so ridiculously emotional in their content you could literally go with any tune.
This was a pleasant surprise! Leprous is one of my favorite bands! Their drummer is incredible. In case you’re curious, here’s a playthrough he did of this very song. ruclips.net/video/gx_VUb9Bd5c/видео.html
Great choice, this is one of the best modern prog rock/metal bands out there together with Porcupine Tree, Pain of Salvation, Ihshan, Soen, Anathema or Opeth
Einar Solberg is a BRILLIANT vocalist. I've been listening to this band since Tall Poppy Syndrome. Please, please check out Alleviate or Observe the Train if you enjoyed his floaty falsetto vocals. The whole Pitfalls album is great
Still watching the video but that "soft drum thingy thing" you're talking about is literally just the drummer playing softly but with normal drumsticks. He's a phenomenal drummer and has his dynamics absolutely nailed down.
If you want another unique band similar to this, VOLA - song - Stray the skies, or Smartfriend or literally anything they have, it’s all incredible. Thanks
Also my first time hearing this song (although I’ve loved many Leprous songs before) and hot DAMN this was a GREAT TUNE, cried and laughed at the same time when this ended 😂
I really enjoy watching reaction videos and I appreciate yours quite a bit. You know what you're talking about and I like that you get right to it, instead of talking for 4 or 5 minutes before listening to the song. Keep it up and I'll be along for the ride.
The drummer uses normal drumsticks. He tunes his snare very low so the snarerattle soften out;). Most drummers won't have the abality as he got, but Baard Kolstadt is really something!
It's pronounced Lep-russ. It's a guy signing, they're pretty amazing. You've got to check out the song The Price or another good one is called Illuminate.
Sick bro, really appreciate it, i know this one probably wont get many views, but i really wanted you to check it out, btw, thats a dude you're hearing with that insane voice
@@jamelakajamal Hi there, I think the drummer, Baard Kolstad (who is amazing btw), uses ghost notes. The drummer using the regular drumsticks hits the snare drum with very little power. You should do a reaction to one of his drum playthrough videos
Haha. Ya. Your probably right. Don’t want to scare the man off too soon with something too harsh. Slave for sure. It’s one of the best live songs I’ve heard.
This is interesting wow. I'm sending this to my home theatre system😂it's more 3 dimensional than my earphones ect. Lol I don't dare burn green 🙄jamel. Sounds great now
If you did smoke you'd be better of with the last track on this album, which only has keyboard, strings and vocals and lasts 8 minutes👍😀 Sooo glad I recently discovered this gem of a band! Being Norwegian, I must admit I'm a little ashamed I haven't heard them before, but the last weeks since I did have been an amazing musical journey🤘
Hey dude good ear! Sounds like the drummer is using brushes. They're literally a metal brush about the size and shape of a drum stick. Glad you enjoyed this!!
This is the wrong song to get into this band. Check out “the price” or “from the flame”. I know you feel rhythm, drums and vocals, check out the price drum cam.
If you want something more rap rock, but modern, check out “time the valuator- the violent sound.” Good flow in the vocals. Metal but progressive, not too over the top.
My favourite song by this band, you shush! Saw them live in Minneapolis a couple years ago and they opened with this, and it was chills down my spine for the whole thing.
*Leprous* - _Slave_ live at Rockefeller is AMAZING
👍🏾
Oh hell yes!
I second to this!
Yes I'm BEGGING for that Slave reaction!
Leprous is one of my absolute favourite bands. Their vocalist, Einar Solberg, has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard. You should check out their song Below. It's a single on their new album that just dropped this past weekend!
Leprous is super underrated!

Yeet
Literally one of my favorites of their newer stuff
Wow, i wasn't expecting a leprous reaction! they are incredible!
Love Leprous, my favorite band. Also, it's pronounced like the skin disease. Nice vid man!

*Ne Obliviscaris would like to know your location.*
nice vollection you got there! i'd add: karnivool, rishloo and katatonia as well as caligula's horse and tesseract :)
Caligula's Horse and Haken as well
@@FluffyFractalshard Rishloo
Pain of Salvation is my all time favorite
Check out Portishead.”ONLY YOU” & “ROADS” are good songs to start. The Roseland concert is really good as well

He's not using a brush to drum with he just has amazing control with his g h o s t notes
Still watching the video but that "soft drum thingy thing" you're talking about is literally just the drummer playing softly but with normal drumsticks. He's a phenomenal drummer and has his dynamics absolutely nailed down.

God damn VOLA are so great
Black Box too is great
Stray the skies is amazing, and if he likes the tactile sounds i would say Gutter Moon or A Stare Without Eyes
Add Haken to the list
you my friend are a man of culture
The video for BELOW. Such passion.
Also my first time hearing this song (although I’ve loved many Leprous songs before) and hot DAMN this was a GREAT TUNE, cried and laughed at the same time when this ended 😂
This is one of their best songs.
Definitely check out Below or Alleviate from their newest album 👌
I'm loving the new one, distant bells and the sky is red are probably my favs
Below definitely
Nate Beltran Same. I love both Distant Bells and The Sky is Red. Beautiful songs.

Now do Baard Kolstad (Leprous drummer) playthrough of Sky is Red! He get his hair ruffed, breaks drumsticks and misses the China!
Sick bro, really appreciate it, i know this one probably wont get many views, but i really wanted you to check it out, btw, thats a dude you're hearing with that insane voice
Right on brotha 👍🏾 what were they using on the drums tho???

Thanks Nate, was waiting for some of this.
@@supermario7041 correct, I can see why someone would think he's using brush tips, dudes just got great feel and dynamics
Hell of a powerful track.
Never heard of Leprous. Excellent vid, Bro.
Dude used to be a street busker. Shine kid.
Its called ghost notes. While the drummer plays the down beat on usually 1 and 4 he is playing syncopated beats in between each note.
I’d recommend Acquired Taste from the live album.
Try Slave live or Below video!
You are the best man
Right on Max🙌🏾👍🏾
Amazing band. Slave and contaminate me live, are off the chain. Check it out.
well contaminate me is maybe too much for a start
but definetely have to check out slave.

That's that epic prog shit right there. Malina is an amazing album.

Being Norwegian, I must admit I'm a little ashamed I haven't heard them before, but the last weeks since I did have been an amazing musical journey🤘
Please try the song Slave live man. And yeah info this group is from Norway
Yes more prog rock please
Love this band, now you getting into lesser known really good stuff. Check out Magna Carta Cartel- "Demon king" or JAPAN SUICIDE - "A Mood Apart"
You have to do the sky is red
Love this reaction! Rarely reactions are sooo on point with the meter! Try some TOOL next time!!
Orphaned Land - Sapari from Israel brother ! 🤟
Great suggestion.
Leprous singer is a man.
Drummer is a genious named Baard Kolstad.
Norwegian band 👍
Bruh... I'm straight as it gets but Einar got me gay for him lol! Pause.
My wife said I had a man crush on Einar and I corrected her that I would enjoy Einar and Baard.
Le Prouws
It's a man. Lep-Or-Us. Leprous.
Hey dude good ear! Sounds like the drummer is using brushes. They're literally a metal brush about the size and shape of a drum stick.

Pearl Jam “Just Breathe” please

A friend recommended the album "pitfalls," but I got into them because of Malina.
