100% means half the time or twice as good, 500% would be 5x better or quicker, for example if you have 2min slipstream cool down, with a core with 100% cool down it would turn slipstream cool down to only half of normal which would be 1min cooldown...hope this helps you better understand how they figure in percentage values in STO...and great video thanks for your willingness and time to help out people in learning certain aspects of this game, I remember my 1st month 6yrs ago was a terrible experience after I hit level 30 and it took me a month after that to max lol, now I know better and I use multiple tunes to make life quicker and easier in this game...
So with the 100% equals weird numbers thing to you, it has to do with the fact that multiplying/dividing and addition/subtraction change the properties of whats achievable under them. If like how you were thinking you subtract 100% of the recharge speed from something you can end up with a 0 second recharge time. This is why they don't use it. What they use is the division method. For example reload speed. We use the equation Newreloadspeed=Oldreloadspeed/(1+x) Lets use 10 second base reload with a 100% reload time modifier. So y=10/(1+1) in this case, cause 100% = 1 So 10/2 = 5 Your new reload time is now exactly half what it was or you can complete 2 reloads in the time it took you to do 1 before. This means that no matter what % you put in there the graph of the results is a curve where your reload can never quite hit 0. In other words 100% reload speed means you can reload 1 more time in the same time period as you did before. 1000% means you can reload 10 times in the same time period.
I've had a great time using the dauntless experimental sci vessel (that one from Voyager) I use the gamma core, adapted maco engines, Polaric modular eng console, and the trait extensively modified warp core. I don't have any issues. I have not upgraded any equipment. But the impulse, and core are xiii, polaric is xi.
Thanks for this. I'm fairly new to the game and don't have the same sort of speed you do but I was still able to make an easy half a mil in 20 mins at level 56.
You can get a Fleet engine if youre in a Fleet. I got an Advanced Fleet Hyper Charged Warp core and it gives you the 100% recharge faster. +17.5 sector speed.

One more note, the bonus from the Assimilated engines and the Gamm core don't stack, beside that, the gamma one already provides a higher bonus to max warp factor than the borg engines, so going for that one is more like a waste of resources
@@Shapes_Quality_Control no, they don't. But the adapted maco have sector speed bonuses at ultra rare and epic. So the combination is generally the adapted maco engines at epic and the gamma rep warp core

Buying doffs with fleet credit from the fleet starbase and selling them on the exchange is quite profitable. Usually a few 100k up to several millions (technicians).

It's easier to send your DOFF on raiding missions (marauder) and experimental weapons development (engineer) and sell the results. Costs nothing. Load any ship capable with Orion slavers and just run TFOs and patrols. You'll steal thousands worth a mission, plus whatever drops and rewards. A million at L65 is easy. If no one mentioned it already, 100% cooldown means its twice as fast. If something has a 10 second cooldown, an additional 100% means it now cools down in 5 seconds. And thus those that say 50% would mean it takes 7.5 seconds.
I noticed in this video a few audio glitches, just brief volume drops. Maybe it was just me but after 26:50 it happens multiple times in a row and then drops off entirely coming up to 27:20. I also tried listening to the video on my phone as well as pc so I don't think it is an issue on my end.
@@MCStu It is due to gate & compression in you audio mixer. If you haven’t already figured this out by now. Awesome video. Nice update to your 2019 version. I wish I could do TTG at the rate of your sped up footage. :) I'm going to slightly disagree with you there. For F2P, I would so strongly recommend the Fleet Shepard. It is a Miracle Worker ship that gives you the 30s cooldown/90s slipstream. Like you said, the 90s slipstream is much less important than the 30s cooldown. The Gamma core cools down Slipstream to 1 minute for most ships. Besides that, it is an amazing platform for DEW builds. 20,000 Fleet Credits and 5 of the Fleet Ship Modules from Tier 6 Reps. The Adapted MACO has the SecSpd at Ultra-Rare and SecSped-2 at Epic for a total of SecSpd-3 for the highest sector speed guide in the game. The regular ol' MACO just gets the regular SecSpd-2. Also, I'm pretty sure that the Gamma Core overrides the Asynchronous impulse drives. The Transwarp to Risa is ONLY available if you are in a Fleet. Since you are recommending a Fleet ship, the Odyssey, then it all sort of comes together. On the other hand, if any of your viewers are using one of the other options, it is good information to know. If you are not in a Fleet, time your Slipstream to cover that vast distance from Traelus to Risa. With the Gamma Core and Polaric Modulator, I usually find that committing to the next star when you are ~3 ly is usually good. To avoid the "locked turn" thing, take your hands off the keyboard when you are clicking the next planet. I haven't 100% confirmed that yet, but initial testing seems to be leading me in that direction. On really sharp turns, I will actually stop the ship and manually turn until the ship is facing roughly the correct direction and then confirm the autopilot. Regarding Vendor Trash. Ok, not sure how this works but....I bought the "Fleet Qugh Miracle Worker Battlecruiser" for fleet ship tokens. Equipped it with the Polaric Modulator, Gamma Warp Core and Omega Force Hyper-Impulse Engines (100% slipstream recharge time reduction) which I think are the equivalent of the M.A.C.O. for KDF. Max Warp under slipstream is 52.8 and turn rate is 4.5 for 90s. Recharge time is...... 7 SECONDS!!!!!
I agree. Percentage means little if not given proper context. A 100% reduction in time to me sounds like you remove the cooldown period. But my experience is that it often means that you gain double the amount of cooldown time units you gain. Now I am not saying that is how it works in this case. But in many games you have let say a cooldown on of 60 time units. And each second you get one time unit. (Meaning normally it takes 1 min in this case to cool down). But a 100% would in mean you get 2 cooldown time units per second. And so the actual time it would take is 30 seconds rather than 60. Game designers tend to prefer manipulating time units like that, so you do not get in to a situation where you have zero cooldown. Zero cooldown often create a lot of issue. Not only for balance reasons, but you often get those nasty divided by zero errors which sometimes can lead to crash programs if you do not have a proper exception handler. Even in an extreme situation when you're adding up cooldown time units you will never get in to a situation where cooldown is less than time step which you earn your cooldown points. Again, I do not know how STO handles it. So I can not say this is really why or how. Or if this is the reason for them deciding to go this route if they indeed are doing it this say.

The K7 and Drozana stations are notorious for screwing up auto-navigate. You can sometimes target another system nearby to fix it then target your intended course, but it can take a couple of seconds to find the right one.
The big profit items, for a while, were Plasma Wide Beam Rifles and Plasma Piercing Beam Rifles for 500 EC each and selling them for 100k EC on the exchange. Any faction can go to the Dyson Sphere and stop at the command station prior to entering the Delta Quadrant and obtain the weapons. I think things have settled down, but it was easy to make 1M EC in a few minutes by selling those plasma rifles. The market got saturated, so I haven't tried it in a while.
Is this Tour the Galaxy build a ship you keep solely for that purpose? Returning to space dock, swap ships, Do TtG, then return to space dock, swap ships again?

I have 2 minutes slipstream and 15 sec cool-down.. on my engine alone. I use no consoles. i do have a slipstream console, but that thing does nothing at all.
A whole lot of understandable math errors in the comments: 100% means +100%, ie, twice as good, thus a 12 minute cool down would reduce to 6 minutes. 500% means +500%, ie, six times as good, thus 2 minutes.
Any time I see keys on the exchange for under 10 million I instantly snap them up put them back on the market for 10 Plus I will do this with everything that is undervalued it's a great way of getting more ec without spending real world cash after all it is the ferengi code of acquisition!
I used to make A LOT of ec selling triolic cocktails from Dorenza on the exchange. No idea why but you buy them for around a thousand and they sold for around 25K. They'd sell fast too. Don't know if this is still true.

Holy $***, that is is crazy! Very nice!
@Ivanhoe ॐ I know it has QSD but still can't figure the calculation to a 7 second recharge.
Hi and thanks for the video, Just do you know of an update route for the new Tour the Galaxy map?
I should have an update for tour of the galaxy out in the next week.
@@MCStu oki, Thanks. i barely manage the old one...now there is more XD
I think you are correct, thank you for your feedback.
@@MCStu That you for your video
Is the explore the galaxy toon specific or account specific. Cus running it on each toon if u have 8 toons you have about 8 million credits in one day
Yes you can run it on multiple toons a day.
Some of the info you show on the screen is a little small dude like the slip stream drive you show the words a little to small to read
But all great info
Iv been looking at a tour the galaxy build not really botherd with it till now and want to earn those credits for ships on exchange
Ikr with the Janeway class flooding the EC I really want one
100% means it cuts the cool down time in half. 200% is in half twice (a quarter).
risian corvette is good for tour the galaxy, im a free to play and i got the risian corvette for free. its limited time ship so it prolly dont count :( but im glad i got it during the summer of 2019 or maybe 2018..cant remember exact year
The K7 and Drozana stations are notorious for screwing up auto-navigate. You can sometimes target another system nearby to fix it then target your intended course, but it can take a couple of seconds to find the right one.
It's interesting that you guys on PC don't automatically get an account bank, but those on Console automatically do get an account bank.
sell items to quark in the DS9 bar - you get more credits.
So, I know this is from 2 years ago, but I'm trying m y luck.. I play The Ninth Rule every day, and barely get any item drops..
why Is that?
Step 1, buy Fire at Will 2 from vendors for 2k. Step 2: List it on the market for 70k. Profit
a few others work well like beam overload, torp spread etc but its shocking that it actually works....
@@kinggoten fr fr
Yes, pretty much just for TtG, but to can change ships anywhere. Press U then button on the bottom left.
Can you tell me how I can make 1,000,000 Gold Pressed Lithium per day? What I would like to do is buy a small moon and have a smaller moon orbit it that I can call "Odo".
LOL
I do tour of the galaxy on all 11 of my permanent characters on days I'm not working. Roughly 10000000 IC each day!
The tour the galaxy seemed harsher than I remember it 15 mins run, maybe it always was, but I have done it between 2012 and 2016 when I stopped playing.
They added systems to without extending the timer a year or so back.
@@MCStu Oh wow ok thanks.
i got the odssey and the gamma rep warp core, but my warp speed its only 15 and urs its 24 :S what i lost?
I got the yorktown t6 ship but you can change it to odessey class
Looting sucks in this game, needs a loot all
i have a ambassadorr T6 ship, do you think it will be as good as the star odossey with the gamma warp core? or should i begin to grind fleet credits lol
The Ambassador do not have an advanced slip stream drive, so the Odyssey will perform better. sto.fandom.com/wiki/Ability:_Quantum_Slipstream_Drive#Ability_ranks
@@MCStu I've been using it with the ambassador tho
I have 2 minutes slipstream and 15 sec cool-down.. on my engine alone. I use no consoles. i do have a slipstream console, but that thing does nothing at all.
What are the best Klingon ships to fly to do tour the galaxy?
Any miracle worker ship
A whole lot of understandable math errors in the comments: 100% means +100%, ie, twice as good, thus a 12 minute cool down would reduce to 6 minutes. 500% means +500%, ie, six times as good, thus 2 minutes.
I’m lazy, I just buy keys and sell them for 9 million a piece 🙈
Same, sell em to the gambling addicts
me too
Buying the infinity R & D lock boxes when they are on sale is my go to. 4 boxes netted me around 150 million last month.
@@geminijustgemini7784did you won 150 million ec from infinity lock box?
Any time I see keys on the exchange for under 10 million I instantly snap them up put them back on the market for 10 Plus I will do this with everything that is undervalued it's a great way of getting more ec without spending real world cash after all it is the ferengi code of acquisition!
Someone explain what toons mean?
Toons is another way of saying Characters
@@MCStu god all this sto mombo jumbo is gonna kill me 😂 (EPG,AUX TO BAT) etc
I don't seem to get any drops from the mission, have I not set up something?
tourthegalaxy don't give drops as your in sector space the whole time
@@patrickmurray3846 thanks for the reply :D I meant the mission after 'the 9th rule'. i got like 1 drop compared to the countless on the vid. :(
I used to make A LOT of ec selling triolic cocktails from Dorenza on the exchange. No idea why but you buy them for around a thousand and they sold for around 25K. They'd sell fast too. Don't know if this is still true.
The mission that unlocks the cocktail is no longer available, so if you want the tribble you have to buy the cocktail on the exchange
"Recharges 100% faster" = the ability recharges twice as quickly. So half the time.
So quick question.... what is that armor you are wearing... e.g. Helmet
Buy lock box keys sell on exchange for 5,000,000
the map link for tour the galaxy is dead
But can you show me how to make 20 EC in 1,000,000 minutes?
LOL
Sorry, couldn't watch with all the embedded ads on the wiki.
I started playing on the ps4, finally got to 65, just found this video but I can't find the menu with the gamma-core. when I go to the reputation store for gamma task force it only has ground weapons.
maybe its different on pc???
i hate it when that personnel guy pops up from exploring sectors reward and slams a new mission in your priority list and messes up the current tour! grr...i guess the only way to be free of him is to max out so he never has anything to say :D ["not *now* kato!" i'm extremely busy with my warp drives on fire! :-)]
If I am on DS9 I go to Quark.
The Ninth Rule is not giving the massive drops anymore like you show in the video. At least give an update to this video. What a waste of time.
your discord link seems to be expired
This is alot of unnecessary buildup. Just pick any ship with gamma core and pre load come key missions so you can transwarp to various locations. I usually have colluseum, one for nimbus 3 and one for pahvo. The rest is all gamma core.
less talky talky more showy showy
