    Not sure if you know but if you hold 'Ctrl' whilst you click on something, say, you're buying, selling, donating, discarding - you'll actually skip the confirmation message. It's not much, but it helps quite a lot.
    Examples:
    Discarding / salvaging items from your inventory.
    Donating to fleet projects.
    Investing all available resources into rep projects.
    Buying / claiming items from exchange or stores.
    Like I said, it's not much but it does make life just a bit easier by not moving your mouse as often.
    If you're wondering if anything accidental has happened...well, I've never discarded or bought anything 'quickly' without my knowledge. I'm always conscious when I'm pressing / holding the button, so, no worries here!
    Hope it helps! It has saved me so much effort. 😅

    Great video. A lot of what you do, I do. My own list:
    Rep projects. Even if I am at Tier 6, running an hourly rep project for each rep is half of my daily Dilithium. ~5-7 minutes
    R&D ( up to 15 except for my main, which will be 20)

  • @alcibiadesW
    @alcibiadesW 3 года назад +11

    A good daily is Staging Area, the first mission in the New Romulus arc. Taking the mission gives a free transwarp to New Romulus. The mission involves running around the base camp area for 3 to 4 minutes. The reward is 1,040 dilithium and 85 Romulan marks (if it's your first Romulan rep mission of the day). The Romulan marks can of course be traded for dilithium, or used to advance that rep (which also gives dilithium). In addition, Staging Area rewards a choice between three Mk XII rare kit modules for each career. Useful modules, like a beam turret or exothermic induction field.
    Add in the Academy lore mission (the STO wiki has a "Lore" page that gives all the answers) and a player can get around 2k dilithium without having to fire a shot. Useful for someone who doesn't have good space or ground builds yet.

    • @Spacewizard54321
      @Spacewizard54321 Год назад +2

      Thx for that how do you trade marks for dilithium? Because I’m newer to the game

    • @alcibiadesW
      @alcibiadesW Год назад +3

      @@Spacewizard54321 There are a couple of different ways. One is faster, the other more efficient. The fast one unlocks when you get the rep to tier 5. Near the "Store" button, a new button called "Trade in Marks" appears. Its a trade of 50 marks for 500 dilithium, so 10 dilithium per mark. You can repeatedly do this trade until you're out of marks.
      The more efficient way is to do the hourly Support Project. That cost 15 marks, as well as 7,500 EC and 1000 expertise, to get 340 dilithium. So its 22.67 dilithium per mark. You'll also get a Mk XI or Mk XII item, depending on which reputation you're doing. For Romulan, it's Mk XI. That item can be sold to a vendor to recover most of the EC. [Not all vendors pay the same amount, so use one that gives you 50% of the item's official cost.] Or you can equip the item, if desired. The limit is that this project can only be done once per hour.
      When leveling up a reputation, doing the hourly project is not an efficient investment. When you have limited marks, you'll get more reputation xp per mark spent by doing only the 20 hour Support Project. But once you've reached a comfortable point, the hourly project is a good dilithium source.

    here is a tip for doing endevours for different damage types. when i did my reputation, i saved like two beam arrays of every single type that i got out of the reward boxes on my bank instead of selling them. i also built my first ship (the risan cruiser) with tactical consoles from the reputation rewards that grant 20% beam weapon damage and 8% hull. so all of this didnt cost anything extra.
    so now i have a ship that is built for beam weapons of any type and is pretty beefy. i just swap the beam weapons out as needed for the endevours and do a couple of patrols or what else might be required (like destroying specific ship types) and complete these quests super fast. sometimes you have to do two endevours for different damage types at the same time which completes even easier with a build like this.
    this isnt my main ship of course, but its not like swapping over takes any efford and building something like this up as a secondary ship costs practically nothing.

    If anyone picked up a Temporal Agent in the most recent Temporal Event, they're going to want to complete Tier 05 in the Reputation Progress of their Temporal Agent Transponder. Doing so will grant them a bonus to Reputation Projects.
    When This task is finished, all future Reputation Projects (except Kit modules) will complete as Mk XIII Ultra-Rare instead of Mk XII Very Rare.
    Once the Temporal Agent completes this task and claims the reward, the other characters on the same Account can unlock the feature from their faction's Temporal Agent NPC - Temporal Agent Track.

    If you need DOFFs for your DOFF missions, R&D, or even fleet projects, you can get them in return for fleet credit from your starbase (needs to be unlocked). If you get them for your fleet projects, the amount of fleet credit spent compared to gained when you donate them with have a negative return, but it can help set off that project you want to get going.

    First let me say thanks for providing us with these videos. They're extremely helpful for us noobs. I do have one recommendation. during you're introduction section of a video you could tell the viewer that "this video is intended to a new player" or " this video is intended for a intermediate level player" or "an experienced" player. This will help the viewer determine if it's for them. You use acronyms and phrases in some of your vids that are beyond noobs level. Also, the best that I can see, Endeavors are only available to players that are above level 60 - I was trying to find my GUI but it wasn't available but then I figured out it was for more experienced players. Other than that - great work. Thanks.

    also, absolutely do all of the duty officer colonization chains if you want to do duty officer stuff. after you done all 7 in a nebula you get a guaranteed blue officer out of the chain (for every one of them), and you get a repeatable assignment that grants you a purple officer on a crit. its a snowball effect too. the more purples you already got out of the nebulas, the higher your chances to get a crit and get another one next time.

    • @jasonbrosseau1056
      @jasonbrosseau1056 3 года назад

      I have started working through the 1-7 chains but many of them require colonists. Is there a way to farm getting more of them or is that Doff mission just random to find?

    • @Stone7C1
      @Stone7C1 3 года назад +2

      @@jasonbrosseau1056 the operations officer should have a doff mission to get 5 colonists every second day or so. there are also admirality missions that reward colonists. you could focus on them.
      if there are admirality missions that you dont want to do for some reason because you want to get to others faster or dont like the rewards, you dont have to bother with pass tokens and can just send a single shuttle out and fail it. there is no negative impact of losing an admirality mission other than not getting the rewards.
      if youre doing admirality, you should check the wiki for some of the shuttlecrafts that have good bonuses. they only cost like 30k energy credits, and some have bonuses like +10 on every stat for each ship you send out. so the shuttle itself is worth a little more than 20 on each stat with practically no cost when you send it out with 2 other ships, which is better stats than a t3 ship.
      you can get a lot of missions done by slotting the cheap tier 1 ships that grant ~5 for each stat, and then send one of those shuttles with them. the shuttles and low tier ships just help being more efficient with your big ships and getting more missions done, which gets you faster to your next tour of duty missions or missions with rewards that youre actually after.
      one tip that i didnt realize at first myself. you can just trash your low tier ships and shuttles when you run out of ship slots. you will keep their admirality cards, even when you dismiss them. so depending on how much dil you feel like spending, you can just buy a lot of low tier ships and immediately throw them away, just to get access to their admirality cards.
      the phoenix prize packs have excellent admirality cards for blue tokens, which arent that rare. you should get a few on every opening on a 10 prize pack. if you get 10 greens, youre really unlucky. but even the greens get you the tech upgrades that are far better than the regular ones you find.

    I did the math so that if you want to get all the marks in one go, you need 1380 marks to get to Tier 6.
    T0 -> T5 = (100,000 - current) / 2,500 x 30
    T5 -> T6 = (250,000 - 100,000) / 5,000 x 30 = 900 - 750* = 150 + 30 = 180
    * You Need 900 to get from T5 to T6 but it gives you 750 for reaching T5
    You also need 5 marks for each tier, easiest just to get them all in one go as its only 30 marks
    - - -
    Per Reputation:
    If you want to get all the marks for a rep in a day, you can do all of the endeavours, thats 150 marks.
    If you keep farming counterpoint (I actually did it for a week) you can get the marks in 30 runs, at an average of 40 marks per run.
    It takes an average of 13mins to run counterpoint, which is 6.5hrs of solid grinding.
    If you have ec you can buy like 2 or 3 of the 500 bonus rep marks pool to speed it up a little

    rep mark you dont need you can exchange for dil without running project in trade mark
    a little tip with endeavors mini mission
    for example kill terran on ground simple
    do illusion of communication story mission then kill 21 dont do the mission just kill all go back to your ship dont fight lily
    and go back to the map will reset lol 60 terran 3 time and your done
    same for material on ground diplomatic orders on vulcan scan 2 get out map reset
    same for destroy hurq on ground do home story line and 120 you kill them before hitting big room and dont complete the mission or story if you want
    i keep them for next time
    if i need to do kill hurq in space i do it in with another charather

    Great refresher. Does the DOFF quality actually have an impact on the mission outcome? Doff quality has no affect on crafting outcomes, that experiment/test was a waste of DIL, EC and time.

    • @MCStu
      @MCStu  3 года назад

      For Doff mission there attributes make the biggest difference; aggressive, cunning, logical..... This will very depending on the mission.

    • @goldenknight578
      @goldenknight578 3 года назад

      I found that Doff quality actually does have an effect on your crafting, but mainly when you're crafting items at the higher levels. When I'm crafting batteries or upgrades, I have a better chance of doubling the amount crafting with a higher level Doff than if I just use a common.

    • @JohnL488
      @JohnL488 3 года назад

      Yes the DOFF quality definitely affects everything. If anything look at the missions they run. And start to switching out a different qualities. You'll see the odds of completing them change. Same with the admiralty system and crafting.
      Even using them to enhance your powers makes a big difference. Say you do DOFF mission and the default the system loads you looks good. But if you change them out for higher qualities that may not be what you need to actually complete the mission but doesn't have a negative effect you can increase your CRIT chance. Like say you have a rare duty officer that has two of the qualities needed no that's the same as a very rare but an epic that has no qualities yet it also has no negatives can give you a higher percentage of CRIT.
      When you CRIT you get more rewards. XP, EC, even more duty officers if that mission gives it to you. And if you're trying to get those Technicians from b-tran switching out the default duty officers can help you increase that CRIT. So always try to get better quality duty officers and try to always try to crit.
      I like to crit like crazy. If I'm powering up a character that's one of the ways I do it. And this crafting. Say I'm doing it's daily which I think is 5,000 XP. I crit that and I get an extra thousand. The same with the crafting dailies at the research station. And we all know that leveling crafting takes a while.

    • @JohnL488
      @JohnL488 3 года назад

      Another trick towards leveling is if you have any unbound duty officers you can use the mail system to move them to different characters. Suddenly you have a brand new toon can run duty officer missions a lot sooner than You're expecting which increases your XP and EC so that toon is leveling faster.

  • @SimpleGeekReviews

    Yeah I do dallies on 3 characters - my main, my temp agent, and my fedJem (though its more giving him play time so he can use the TempAgent bonuses). Usually takes me 3-4 hours all total.
    Usually its login, clear anything thats cleared (and usually doffs first cause of the Lab mission for bonus xp). Then work on admin ships, looking for daily bonuses mostly. Then maybe look at doff missions, usually trying to be in DS9 so I can trade for stuff. Then head to lab, so quick crafting, then research mission. Port over to mine, get bonus dil. Then colony cause my fleet is working on Tier V infrastructure. Then do a patrol, and any event mission/TFO. Once I've run through all 3, usually ending up on the Temp since I'm trying to get her through episodes.
    My biggest issue is my fleet. Right now, they only have Colony and Starbase going. Nothing else. So its been tough getting fleet credits. I'm usually having to send credits on common officers or figuring good deals to demote into more (I have all my doffs missions covered by higher levels doffs anyways). But yeah, its a very barren fleet, I hardly see anyone on at all, and I've written the guy who runs it to ask to open up projects. But haven't heard much back. I liked the fleet when I joined last year, was quiet but people did projects and was able to get my main some decent stuff (though we barely had the colony going so nothing major but enough to get geared up). Now its like I don't necessarily want to leave, as I don't like socialness, don't want to feel like I have to socialize or run stuff with people. 20 years of MMORPGs have burned me out of socializing outside of a few friends. I just wanted a place I could rack up credits and buy gear. I dunno.

    I hit level 65 in a matter of days. I think honestly if there is some way to tell how many hours I've put into the game it's likely lower than 20. Imagine playing an MMO where you can hit the max level in about 20 hours. While STO has a quick level progression all the other shit it has definitely takes place of most other MMOs level grind. All these daily stuff the Admiralty, Duty officers, Endeavors and R&D take so fucking long. I was excited at first but I got so demoralized when I realized how long it was going to take to level these. I'm facing shit now that's absolutely wrecking me and I desperately need rare gear or higher and I ain't got it. I get that MMOs are supposed to be designed to make you play for a long time but do they have to be so repetitive and just not fun? At least theres still more story content I have to go through I am about half way through the Delta quadrant story arc. Just gotta keep at the grind I suppose

      not really I mean of course their is pay to win aspects since its a free game so they gotta make money but otherwise its not that bad I did the math and it takes just a week or two for a average person to get to level 65 then you just do some quick daily stuff everyday and you can get some pretty good gear and you can get around up to 6 t6 c store ships or the ones you would normally pay money for per year due to events and the events aren't very hard at all just every time there is a event play 1 tfo takes a very short amount of time out of your day to do one tfo then after doing it enough times you get 2 t6 c store ships of your choice for every event that gives away t6 c store ships, and in those events if you don't want c store ships they also give away lobi which is useful for some really good items and other t6 ships.
