About a year ago I bought tickets to gasparilla music fest here in Florida. I was excited for a long time cause I knew I’d see allman betts band. I caught Devon’s pick during whipping post, which has his initials on it in that classic font. An older lady I could tell was a long time fan, hugged me and was like “you go sweetheart this is your day!”. Fast forward to a couple days ago. I was at a cannabis festival here in Florida, and I found a flyer to see Duane Betts and Palmetto Hotel that same night. I bought tickets that moment, went and saw them front row. Some of the best live music I’ve ever seen. And at the end of the night I met Duane. He greeted me with a handshake and proper manors. Just kind as ever, and gave me his autograph as a nice gesture. Let me tell you, if you’re looking to take some time off and go follow a band, this is the band.
Great tune along with the amazing Derek Trucks. If a complete album is in the works I can’t wait. Duane’s voice is so reminiscent of Dickie. Would love to see/ hear a cd/dvd set from Allman/Betts Band as well.
