  • Go out wheeling with your buddies enough and someone is bound to snap a valve stem. What do you do when that happens? Scott Carline, owner of Axleboy Off-Road demonstrates just how quick and easy it is to replace a busted valve stem using the Colby Emergency Valve Stem replacement system. This requires NO TOOLS and can be done in approximately 5 minutes. Pretty sweet, right? Just plug it in, tighten the thumb screw, air up and you're ready to keep wheeling for the day. It's that easy.

    You should grab the Colby valve with the pliers and try to snap it off just to show how much stronger it is
    I’d like to see that before I buy a set please

      @matgemini Colby offers a few different options on their replacement valves. They do have long term replacements, but the ones in the video would be for a short term emergency trail fix.

      Can you do another video showing us the Permanent Colby valve stem?

      +matgemini It's almost the exact same process (insert stem and tighten nut to expand the seal). The only difference is that the permanent valve stem replacements use a more durable brass spacer and hex nut in place of the wingnut assembly. With that being said, you'll need a 1/2" socket wrench for proper installation of the permanent stems.

    I am going to ask a stupid question - can this be done on a dually ? It’s hard to access the stems as they are between the wheels & and there’s very little room to work. I ask because it is a ‘ bear ‘ to remove that wheel from my box truck, which I’d have to do to get good access to the stem. Anyone actually done this ?

    Does part of the old valve fall into the tire (to rattle around)? Are these things compatible with TPMS (pressure sensors)?

    • @AxleboyOffroad
      @AxleboyOffroad  7 лет назад +1

      Yes, if you have TPMS in your Jeep, that portion would fall into the tire, until you are in a position to dismount the tire from the wheel. These replacement valve stems are an "emergency" fix, designed for quick installation, to get you rolling down the trail/road again. The Colby Valves are a great product, but in our experience, they are not compatible with most TPMS.

      They won't rattle much when you hit the highway speed.

    Can you use this as a RoadSide Emergency roadside fix for most cars?

    I can see how this would be useful for beadlock rims but other than that it's pretty stupid even the guy in the video looks like he thinks it's stupid. It's a solution to a made up problem
