As for the price point, I think it’ll keep up fine. I personally think it’s ridiculous, especially since they’re now in the realm of mass mass mass hyper mass print runs.
But people want bragging rights in whatever way they can get them.
An etched foil counterspell is better than a basic common old counterspell to the person who cares. (You know I don’t)

Yeah that's for sure. I only care if the artwork and overall presentation is worth the premium. In some cases I think the regular cards look better than the premium versions (the D&D showcase frame comes to mind). But that's all a matter of opinion and personal preference anyway.

They might be. It’s hard to believe they had a pallet of boxes for 30 years.
With that said, it’s what I’d do if I was a bean counter.
