My first time in medellin I remember I was only supposed to stay 3 weeks and travel the rest of colombia but I feel in love with medellin and ending up staying for 2 months I think I feel in love because in medellin the have murals of black people painted everywhere
Medellin was the first international location I fell in love with. It’s beautiful and culturally rich. It’s expansive and has multiple landscapes. The people are so friendly, even in violent areas. I’ve considered moving there myself.

I love Medellin Colombia 🇨🇴 visited there in 2015! Our favorite place we have ever visited and we felt safer there than in the US. Great people, food, and perfect 🌤️ perfect weather! It’s definitely a place everyone should visit at least once! Also they were way ahead of the US they had free bike system and so many other things like free schooling that US didn’t even have so don’t walk run to Colombia 🙌🏽 love it! Cost of living is great too!

Just found your channel and am excited to journey with you. It's been about 20 years since I've been out of the country although I used to live and travel abroad extensively being raised in a military family and serving for a season as a third world missionary and you've made me realize how much I miss being immersed in other cultures. I admire your spirit of adventure and am genuinely happy you are able to experience these things at your age. When the restaurants were all closed I immediately thought about the 3 hour midday shutdowns in the Middle East at the hottest part of the day. I'm sure its the same in South America. They likely reopened early evening. I'm glad you finally got to check them out the next day!
So what the waiter was saying to you at the restaurant Is that ‘la costa’ or the coast of Colombia ie (Cartagena, Barranquilla ) and down to Venezuela is where the you’ll find darker skin Colombians. Just so you know and it’s a totally different vibe. More beach and tropical .

Maybe because different shops overseas don’t update their hours when they’re closed as often as the U.S does. Maybe that’s why. Perhaps travel so you could see for yourself

I loved Columbia and want to go back. I think we flew into Medellin but we stayed in this gorgeous house by a lake in Guatape'.

I met several Venezuelans in Medellin who were black. That’s probably why the waiter said you look Venezuelan.
I’ve gotten mistaken for Colombian, Panamanian and Venezuelan. All within my first 72 hours in this country 😂
