That ain’t true, Lima is safe in the richest areas and not much in the poorest depends, the tourist areas are only 3 and these are not the richest, there are many rich areas that tourist don’t dare to go because simply they have no knowledge about it, in Peru nobody talks about the richest areas because rich ppl want to be unknown. And also they don’t want tourism in this area because then it will become comercial and eventually not so safe. Miraflores, San Isidro, and barranco are the least safe of the richest areas because of tourism. Go to La Molina, Casuarinas, Surco, San Borja, Jesus Maria, Rinconada del lago etc there are many areas that are safe and they are not even rich but also middle class, there is no tourism and it’s more safe and less ambulants in the streets. If u wana get robbed go at night or even afternoon to la Victoria. To be honest there are better districts than Miraflores in Lima but tourist are afraid to go farther because they just don’t know. It’s very different than other Latin countries.. I’ve been around. ;)
@@Rodo3919 I know all of that already. Like I said already the Tourist areas are mostly safe. Years ago EL Centro wasn't so much, but now it's much safer. Not all la Victoria and callao are dangerous, only some parts and mostly at night, I live in San Miguel, a callao district, and it's safe. Santa Catalina is a good area in la victoria too. Talking about the safety, yes in the modern districts you will not have a problem. But in the more informal or more poor districts it is a whole other story! (From a gringo which also lives in Peru)
