Thanks for making this video! I appreciated your fast-paced delivery of just the right amount of information. I sometimes get bored with other tutorials that are too slow paced, or spend too much time delving into every minute detail, but yours felt just right!
race for the galaxy has you discovering over the course of the game what building options you'll have, so you have to respond "in the moment" (i.e. tactically) as to how your gameplay will evolve. res arcana gives you 100% of the information of what's available before the game starts, so you can plan long terms (i.e. strategically) as to how you'll make your gameplay evolve :)
he was just saying Turn instead of Round in this video, I don't know why... but yes, after the artifact is tapped it can't be used again until it gets untaped... and he didn't used it incorrectly
I think you might need to clean up your camera lens, everything looks a bit hazy. Or maybe it's time to upgrade to 4K. I don't know if it's absolute or relative to the rest of RUclips, but your video quality seems to go downward.
yup, that's a problem. jerome is right, i should jump up to 4k for these static cameras, but i did try one and it was awful, so i kind of took a step back. it is still on my list of things to investigate :)
@@rahdo What you could try in the meantime is place your tripod up to the ceiling, and zoom in a little. By putting the camera away you get a deeper field and you'd have both the table and your hands in focus. That way you can turn auto focus off, adjust it manually, and get much sharper picture with your existing camera.
@@jeromevuarand3768 that's a cool trick! the tripod with arm is currently about 8' above the table, and i do already zoom down quite a ways. getting it mounted on the ceiling would be quite the trick as must be close to 20' high...
There could've been so much more in Richards turn there. Discarding dagger -> take 2 Elan so you have 3 (not 1 Elan + 1 Life) -> play Pickaxe, then bow -> use bow to draw card -> maybe discard that card for 2 more Elan -> use Pickaxe to get 1 gold out of 1 Elan

1:45 when you say this is more strategic than tactical, what do you mean? Why is Race for the Galaxy Tactitcal and this starategic?

Wait? What? 13:37 is that really Richard contemplating to attack Jen??
that's runthrough richard, not real richard :)
@@rahdo pfhheew gladly so :D
Really nice looking game!
14:33 Can she use the ring of midas though? I thought tapped artifacts lose their effects...

@@PauloRenato23 for the ring of midas, does the gold come from your hand or the stockpile?
@@troylow6229 The gold comes from the Supply... it wouldn't be very good if the Gold came from your "hand"

I think it's because he kept moving the cards up and down, making the autofocus work overtime.

Unfortunately, there's much more randomization than Rahdo realizes.
Oh my, you can't say the "T" word. You have to say Exhaust or Rotate or Activate.
